Warms my heart to see mainstream IGN so excited about VR. The easiest way to sell VR is to let someone try it. Sony should be demoing it out in the wild.
They had demos at CES. It's not the same as having one at every retailer, but thousands of people attend CES. Everybody that tried PSVR2 at CES was really impressed from what I've seen/heard.
Unfortunately psvr is doomed before it even gets a chance. Sony reported extremely low and lackluster preorders and interest in the product. With it being more expensive than the industry leaders in VR... it's going to be almost impossible for Sony to take any market interest

Awesome to see people liking this. The negativity around VR has gone on for too long. This is the point where consumer VR becomes amazing. This is when you can buy yourself a headset and just play GT7 forever that way. The best way, by far. By FAR.

PC VR is incredible, im glad console owners finally get to experience it properly now with more powerful hardware. vr should be the next big jump in gaming, as soon as the vr hardware gets cheaper.
@@Jkarl74 the developers are making (mostly free) upgrades of their PSVR1 games. I'd rather take upgraded versions with better graphics and controls than the old ones. But like Windlands 2 creator said the launch is so stuffed with games there's no point putting more out yet. There are already many upgrades revealed and much more coming

GT7 is shaping up to be the best in the series. I've already been able to recreate my car exterior visually, modifications and power output fairly accurately, and soon experience my relatively stock interior in game too. I'm loving it.
Wii even when it launched is massive gimmick useless controllers for me but VR is opposite, it really surpassed anything before it. But it can be uncomfortable wearing vr headset
This, horizon, no man’s sky, RE8, just to name a few. PSVR 2 might just be a surprise hit despite the price tag. Every content creator who has used it, comes back very impressed. To use it is to know it, to know it is to want it…price tag be damned.
@@nonentity2574 It should be worth it since the PS5 and the PS VR2 is future proofed to last throughout this whole decade before it will start to show it's age. Most likely it will be supported into 2030 before it will be replaced by a potential PS VR3 on the PS6. The PS VR2 is far ahead of times in terms of price point, technology and software. You won't see such a high budget racing game as GT7 on PC VR for instance since the Triple A VR market on PC simply isn't large enough for any investors to earn their money back
What most people forget, it's not just you being able to look around freely. You are getting stereoscopic 3D, depth perception like in reality basically 💟
Fantastic to see IGN finally throwing VR some serious love, espcially from Ryan 'Xbox' Mccafrey. Theres no shade in my comments, props to him, just seriously jazzed their understanding it...believe the hype ppl, VR is incrediable.
Sony needs to focus on bringing as many hybrid games (or "hybridize" them) like this to VR. Indies are great but pretty much everyone's favorite VR games are those big AAA projects made for flat screens and adapted to VR. Those are whats going to sell headsets and they're the cheapest most efficient way to get games on the platform. GT7 and Village are the most anticipated games coming to PSVR2. They will likely be among the most played games too, just like Skyrim and Borderlands 2 we're on the first one.
Racing in VR is so different - like the track far in front of you isn’t just “small” - it really feels “far away” - because of the way the 2 different screens in each eye trick your brains depth perception. The world just wraps around you - like he said, you look behind you - and you are not looking away from the game (on Tv) you are seeing more of the game world around you. It’s mind blowing first time you experience it
people complain about it being wired but thats where it makes the difference..having it wired allows sony to push the power thats required to run high quality vr games..just wait until sony figures out a way to make it wireless..thats their next step

Best way to describe vr is when you put it on, you feel like youve left earth and u r actually inside the game world, its epic and ive only tried psvr1 which had ps3 graphics, psvr 2 has proper ps5 graphics

Not all games can easily be converted to VR tho. Games like GT7 is a no brainer but other games would need alot of changes.

What it needs is GTA VR. That would make VR go mainstream.
Use a wheel when you drive, pick up the controllers when you play. That would be next level.

Well, Meta is porting GTA: San Andreas to their Quest platform, not sure if Quest 2 or the upcoming Quest 3.

the entire point of foveated rendering is that you don't notice it. if people notice it, it's not working properly.
