One thing I don't understand is what's the point of the lenova app when it just launches the launcher for the game you want to play lol at least that's what I'm experiencing like GOG or whatever?
I've been thinking of getting one since it came out finally broke down and did it and so far other than the battery 🔋 life I love it
haha :) thanks for the comment Chris and yes it is good. As I mention in my review the device has grown on me and I didn't think it would, although I agree it would be nice if the battery life was longer.

You are a very pleasant fella. Nice video and it's good to watch a review for the le.g. that's not full of snark. I bought one of these and I use it all the time. The updates to the bios have made a big difference to me since it launched. Fan curves, joystick dead zone cal, vram settings are pretty good now too. It goes great with a bluetooth keyboard and mouse. It's almost replaced my laptop I use for field work except for screen size and yeah, that right controller mouse thing needs a bit of work still.
Maybe they will release version 2 of those controllers later.

I briefly considered the idea of it replacing the need to carry a laptop but as you rightly say smaller screen size puts an end to that idea. It is a fantastic device though and I'm excited to see what their next release is like.
Can you limit the charging? (60 or 80% for example) on mine even with Lenovo Vantage it charges always up to 100% and it will kill your battery fast. In my previous Ally you could limit it with a Microsoft Store App…

I'm thinking to get one. What have you been playing on it? And what's your opinion about it?
I love mine. I mostly play emulators and indy games, in power saver mode I'm still getting 60fps, so my battery lasts 3.5 - 5 hours. Regarding the detachable contollers, I 3d printed a connector, but you can buy one cheap off etsy, and it feels like a regular controller. Windows jank is unavoidable, but for a pc gamer, it's par the course, the large touch screen goes a long way in making it a great experience.
Hi SheldonZS, thanks for the comment! Great suggetion regarding the emulators and indy games, I haven't tried smaller titles yet but have a number of older games I would like to try that don't 'the best of the best' to play them and should improve the battery life. 🙂

Dang i wanna buy 1 so bad but noticed there making a new ally 2 that said thats comming out in the summer / november 2024 ..i wonder if its gonna be better then this lol
I got mine to automatically boot me to steam big picture mode after turning on & logging in. I use Steam Rom manager to access all my ROMS from steam. Just gotta make sure once a week or so I update the emulators individually. Love the set up and makes me feel like it’s a dedicated gaming device instead of a windows tablet with controllers attached to it.

JSAUX RGB Docking Station. Works great with my LGO. I believe it works with the other handheld, too.

Going from a Steam Deck OLED to an LGO, the LGO is way more immersive due the giant screen. It's awesome.

Since you had the steam deck is it true that windows makes this gaming system terrible? I heard steam deck is better since it is a dedicated gaming handheld while LGO is a small computer that can play games but then windows gets in the way? Also hear that Lenovo software is terrible? Thank you from answering this question
@anthonyhernandez6230 I haven't noticed any issues playing games from steam on the LGO. Definitely some software issues though it's not a seamless experience like the SD. But nothing I couldnt work around for gaming at least (emudeck emulation setup issues). The only thing the LGO really has on the SD is performance and screen. The big screen makes all those trade-offs worth it for me. But I'm just one opinion.

I will wait to see how the MSI Claw with the ultra 7 chip looks before making a decision.
I just can't see how it will compete with 780m handhelds. It generally performs worse with higher watt requirements from what I've seen. I'm hoping I'm wrong because competition in the space would be awesome.
LGO is worth it. Buy it. I recommend the Micro Center 2TB $800. (Maybe I am wrong... but... I think Best Buy might have quality control issues with high volumes of returns - mostly true about ROG ALLY).

Hi hashhakaj, thanks for the comment 🙂. Some of tyhe accessories appear to be very good, I don't need any myself at the moment although the screen protector is something I've considered.
I've been loving mine since Christmas. A mixture of handheld and desktop use with mine connected to a 144hz 1440p monitor and a 4070 super when its not mobile.

Can you limit the charging to not kill the battery? I also have a dock and eGPU but I’m not using it as I would like because it always charge it to 100% and would stay very long on that amount…

Hi kubadave28, thanks for the comment 🙂! I'm not a console control player myself, but if you are then yes absolutely! As I mention in the video, the Legion Go is essentially a PC so you can connect almost any peripheral (device) and it should work well. If you are plannig to connect it via a cable and it doesn't connect to one of the two USB-C ports then you can use a USB-C hub like this: UK : amzn.to/48OPNha | USA : amzn.to/494jyLb
