The legion Go has been my go to for 2 months now. My ONLY complaint is the lack of ergonomics. For my hands, the steam deck oled is way more comfortable to use.
I love the detachable controllers. I also do use it with a xbox controller a lot while using the kickstand too. The big screen is the selling point for me. I personally think the 7 inch screens are too small. Lenovo was thinking outside the box when they designed it and I applaud that. I have also owned the Ally and I very much prefer the Legion.

I have an original 512gb steam deck and now a legion go. My main complaint is the ergonomics for sure. I hope lenovo will come out with more controllers to help fix this problem.
Thank you for this talk. I honestly found that I don't use portable PC gaming except when in a hotel... So I never look at what's coming out. My Steam Deck does what I need.

@@maroonstarsface Yeah if only SD OLED had better hardware I'd be ultimate device. Even USB4/TB3 would be a game changer for me but sadly it isn't going to happen so there are those other handhelds like Legion Go :)

@@pcworld I would like the ability to play any game from ps5 to Xbox to steam with little to no difficulty without feeling like I would have to upgrade the device within a year of purchase would you recommend the rog for that
For best viewing pleasure you should check out the upcoming Ayaneo flip ds. The clamshell design is best suited for viewing so you don't strain your neck. It also offers 32 or 64gb of ram, 32 is enough while 16gb is not so much because win 11 already use up 4gb & future demanding games require more ram or vram.
This device is in its own category. It's a hybrid that can be used as a handheld/tablet/laptop. The only problem is... it's not doing any of these perfectly. But I can see people that are fine with that and want one device. My opinion is that if you already have small portable laptop, and want real handheld experience, go with the Deck or ROG Ally. This situation of putting the Legion Go on the table, detaching controllers, turning them into mouse or whatever. It's cool, but if you have a small laptop, it's not that much bigger, but the screen screen is bigger, with more powerful hardware, you can use real mouse & controller... That's the reality of the situation. Legion Go will be your perfect device IF it's your only device.
honestly ever since i got mine 2 weeks ago, my only main problem i have with the Legion GO is that it doesn't have VRR. that was one of the main things the Ally had that I really liked. Main reason i went with the legion Go is honestly the screen size. 8.8 inchs is honestly amazing. the 7 inches on the Ally is a bummer to me. if the RoG ally had atleast 8 inch it would of been my purchaser chioce.
Im looking foward to getting it! I appreciate your opinion I want to know all of the negatives before I get it to see if it's worth getting and for me personally i dont mind the negatives. Thank you for your honest feedback!
For travel gaming especially on planes with an iPad holder on the seat backs that can put the screen at eye-level, having detachable controllers seem like an ergonomic god-send.
I thought VRR was going to be a big factor too prior to purchasing the device, but strangely I've not experienced any screen tearing issue at all - and being a PC gamer, I'm generally very very sensitive towards it. All the games run smoothly on the 144hz screen which I suspect is the key factor in the perceived fluidity. Another factor is perhaps because the Legion Go uses a portrait display, the refreshing cycle is done vertically thus less visible when panning the in-game camera angle...
i am planning to swap my rog ally for this, bigger screen, and emergency case use for fps mode / mouse its to good to give up imo Lenovo should make a Variant of this that is without removable controllers. to me i love that and wish all handheld came with it. but they should have the best of both world option to chose not to as well
I don't think they'll make this - one design is cheaper to produce. What they really can do is make detachable ones without all this stuff for fps mode (just 2 symmetrical back buttons, no scroll, mouse etc) with better physical profile like in steam deck. Maybe we'll even get ones from 3rd party, they doesn't even have battery and can be lighter/cheaper :)
Adam, i'm just curious why you're so into handhelds. I have a great PC with 4 32 inch monitors. If someone gave me a handheld, i might use it twice a year.
Good question. So I play PC games 1 of 2 ways. The first is on my SFF box connected to my TV in the living room. The second is on the couch in the living room on a handheld while my wife watches something on the TV, or on the bed. Between those 2 options it's about a 85/15 split, with most of my time playing on the handheld. I almost never play on my work PC in the office. -Adam
@@pcworld Oh yeah, I forgot how wives complicate the living room. 👍👍 I just always use my pc to the max, work, play, watch. I pretty much rely on it for everything. (probably not great for my spine)
Thanks for the honest review. Even though it is not your favorite handheld you have valid dislikes. They are all opinion and preference and I don’t get why so many people are so offended.
If i had the legion go, what I'd probably do is connect my AR glasses to the body, detach the controllers and play with a controller in each hand. I did that with the switch a lot when it was docked, play with a joycon in each hand.
The one thing that seems not debatable are the speakers being way too low volume and tinny. Seems kind of dumb not to at least put beefier speakers and correlating impedence.
The Legion Go isn't simply a handheld device for me. I use this as a portable PC when travelling. It's the most compact gaming tablet out there. I do agree that ergonomics and acoustics should be improved, but i don't think detachable controllers and FPS modes are cons. Just because you don't use those features doesn't mean its a "disadvantage" to have. For me, detachable controllers is a selling point. When I travel I can just use the two controllers & FPS mode to play games like LoL and Apex Legends. For other handhelds you'd need to bring a separate mouse and keyboard for it.
i just return my legion go after 3 weeks of owning it. everytime i play games it just stops and it lag so bad and the weight gets heavy after few minutes. i will try a gaming laptop instead or wait for the new rog ally x
I've got Rog Ally about 6 months and today I've purchased Legion Go. I was trying it at shop and it was comfortable for me. To be honest I'm not 100% sure which one (Ally or Legion) I'll keep later but for now I'd like to have more GPU power when I want on a trip. This lead me to eGPU and I know XG Mobile is great but it costs so much that I want to try my own build with TB3/4 eGPU and this is also one little but important thing that Lenovo has 2x USB4 ports and I can use them as Thunderbolt ports :) I'll probably write my opinion about Legion Go later when I'll get it (shipment tomorrow) and give it a longer try :) Ps. Those detachable controllers in theory are also very nice for me because I can put Legion Go near big TV (on a trip), connect it using usb-c dock (or even eGPU) and play that way from couch :)
they should make a new set of controllers that are more comfortable and symmetrical. Then you can just swap out the old (uncomfortable) controllers for good ones.
I have a legion go. Just one question is any ones elses fonts in task manager and the adrenalin Edtion text really really small. I've done tried to adjust the text in the display settings but it dosn't change the text in those areas . It's just really annoing .
If you have it in 2560x1600 resolution make sure you go in and make the ratio 200% it'll give you same size as 1280x800 but with the pixel density of 2k. Great for scaling in games!
they need to keep the fps mode and upgrade controllers and the whole legion go. front camera, bigger battery and it needs better navigational update so we could use controller on navigating apps and settings
I like the fact that i can plug it directly into my WFH setup and u just use it as a computer... I borrowed a steamdeck from a friend before i bought the go and while i loved the ergonomics. I just cant be bothered with linux these days unless im being paid. to be honest, i have not tried FPS mode yet or tried playing anything with controllers detached.
You're probably going to be heavily criticized by the Legion Go fans for the cons that you listed, but I actually resonate with a lot of the things you pointed out. This was helpful in making me feel more comfortable about my decision to buy an ROG Ally instead!
Too early to tell. From the short time I had with it at CES I think it'll be a real contender, but it really boils down to Arc performance tuning and MSI software. -Adam

I guess you never updated the system because you can change the start and pause buttons to be in the right place. The system is not that heavy at all. The speakers aren’t the best other than that it’s the best handheld on the market.
Start and Select placements can be moved. FPS is an additional feature that has ZERO CONS. Don’t use it if you don’t want to. Buttons don’t have to be mapped and still give you more options than 2 back buttons(most handhelds). Play normal than switch to Tablet on chest/stomach detached controllers for maximum comfort. Fixes weight issues as well. Audio can be fixed through a native app to Lenovo. Your review is Lazy as Lazy
Advice: Review the device I don’t care about your opinion, how is the detachable controllers a negative? Because you don’t want it to be there? That’s not a review it’s a subjective opinion
Adam you hit all the points I was thinking with the Legion Go. I don't own one nor have I tried one but immediately when seeing plenty of videos and reviews that are not all negative, I was thinking about all of those same points. Hopefully Lenovo makes something better.
Get a 3d printed controller connector and tell me the detachable controller+ setting the console on the table with the kick stand isn't awesome.. I just wish they made the device more powerful with better cooling like the Kun.
I enjoy my Legion Go but I do find myself using an Xbox controller with it versus the integrated ones... Perhaps with the ability to remove the controllers, someone will redesign the existing ones with different shapes, buttons, and possibly add a bridge to connect them to mimic a Xbox controller (tried the 3d printed one, close but not happy with it.) Otherwise, I'm very happy with it and enjoy it's gaming and mini Windows tablet ability.
I also can’t believe he talks about the start and select button. How old is this review? 12 years old? The legion go can map the start and select buttons since forever
Ok...... While you faulting it for having features you in no way have to use is pointless overall, can you tell us what the go to console you're reaching for over it is? And why its better than whats currently the most powerful handheld with the biggest, best resolution screen screen with highest frame rate? I mean if you just prefer the ergonomics of the steam deck and dont want to play the more demanding games then fair wnough but if you say aomething like the switch then i dont thibk you have valid opinions

Honestly this was a horrible review. "I don't like the removable controllers, it just makes me have an awful experience", "the start button is down here not up here". My man you are crying about stuff you either say you won't use which has no effect on you and doesn't cost any more to have as a feature, or it having extra buttons that will make more mapping options for games that have complex input options. Please just remove the review or cut that BS out. Almost feels like you added it to make the video longer. Didn't even talk about performance vs the other hand helds or anything like that.
Weirdest review yet. What am I to think about a professional reviewer who doesn't know that there is a Start Button swap option that has been added. That occurred prior to the publication of this review. And you mentioned pairing with AR glasses but no mention of cool things that you can do for an extremely lightweight gaming experience with using AR and Legion display off and detached controllers. Pretty glorious, IME.
I returned my Go after about a week, many pros & cons but ultimately I just didn't love it like the steam deck. Completely disagree on the detachable controllers though. Lounging on sofa or bed with the Go propped up on my belly (kickstand 👌) with my hands by my sides was just blissfully comfortable (despite the poor ergonomics of those top edges). I loved it! It's the one thing I miss.
Everyone has a right to opinion. I just don't agree. Had the Asus and Lenovo and returned the Asus. Burned up a 512 micro SD and love the detachable controller a nd larger screen.
You spend 4 minutes talking about the positives and the other 7 minutes about the negatives. This device blows the steam deck (not windows powered) and ROG Ally (cheap hardware, sd burner) out of the water. Performance, screen, customizability, community support, and hardware all make this a great device. Detachable controllers are a plus, its comfortable to hold for its size, button mapping is allowed, and the FPS mode is a feature you don't need to use. I expected more from this video, perhaps a look into what it CAN do compared to the competition. Especially since your Legion Go video from 5 months ago is one of your most popular videos in a while.

And to add on the last part you can swap the start menu buttons on legion space. I not sure why you did not figure that out since its been months
The legion Go has been my go to for 2 months now. My ONLY complaint is the lack of ergonomics. For my hands, the steam deck oled is way more comfortable to use.
Con: detachable controller....lol its not a con its a preference
I literally stopped watching at this point and came down to the comments to see if anyone else thought that was as stupid as I did.
Yes they are a con .
Such a great review . Thank you for the video
Exactly my thoughts .
Legion go or rog ally x ???
i returned mine, while i do like the screen and all the performance, its just too heavy i cant game more than 45minutes on this, but it is a great media consumption machine tho. its just use more this handheld as a handheld and less of table top, sitting it on my belly help when im sitting and in bed, but you also need like a arm rest to do that lol. bought the ally and the VRR and the weight really hits the spot for me, missed those screens tho.
Honestly I love my LLG, the performance keeps blowing my mind, that screen is something else
I've been gaming almost exclusively on my steam deck, and loving it so much
Same but I want to play everything handheld now and after installing monster hunter world on my deck it's very clear monster hunter wilds isn't going to run in an acceptable manor
@@maroonstarsface Yeah if only SD OLED had better hardware I'd be ultimate device. Even USB4/TB3 would be a game changer for me but sadly it isn't going to happen so there are those other handhelds like Legion Go :)
@@Alupl indeed, tis why I got one
What device are you using instead of the lonovo im looking to purchase a handheld and I had my eyes set on lonovo but now idk
For me it's a tie between recommending the Steam Deck and the ROG Ally. Both excel in different ways, and it's really a preference based on how you think you'll use your device.
-Adam
@@pcworld I would like the ability to play any game from ps5 to Xbox to steam with little to no difficulty without feeling like I would have to upgrade the device within a year of purchase would you recommend the rog for that
@@limitbeserker9562 I dont think you can play PS games on the ROG ally
Did he list negatives? Sounded mostly like features that he has no obligation to use but he still disagrees with the inclusion of
The start/select can be switched and fxSound makes the sound better, this guy doesn't know what he is talking about. Enjoy the legion go!
For travel gaming especially on planes with an iPad holder on the seat backs that can put the screen at eye-level, having detachable controllers seem like an ergonomic god-send.
Nice review, I'm waiting to see what the new ROG ally 2 this year has to offer. Probably picking up a steam deck OLED next winter.
You forgot to mention the lack of VRR which is for me the most important fact in my decision to buy the Ally instead
Vrr isnt a factor on a 7 inch screen lol
Good honest review. Not deal breakers for me but I get the point. For me Go is the go-to device.
i am planning to swap my rog ally for this, bigger screen, and emergency case use for fps mode / mouse its to good to give up imo
Lenovo should make a Variant of this that is without removable controllers. to me i love that and wish all handheld came with it. but they should have the best of both world option to chose not to as well
I don't think they'll make this - one design is cheaper to produce.

Very nit picky for sure. As I said in the video, I do think it's a good device, it's just not my go to.
-Adam
Who’s nick and why would Adam pick on him?
I agree with the reviewer . Thrice have returned the go . Want to love it but just can't
Not just two USB-C ports, but two USB 4.0 ports, the only handheld that has it.
This is a review of it as a Gaming Console, and not as a PC Windows gaming rig, which many of us do not have 3 extra handhelds laying around.
so what is your go to handheld??
Honestly it's a tie between the Deck and the Ally, they both excel in certain ways.
-Adam
they need to keep the fps mode and upgrade controllers and the whole legion go. front camera, bigger battery and it needs better navigational update so we could use controller on navigating apps and settings
What handheld gaming device is the one you “always pass over” the Legion with? Which handheld is your favorite?
I like the fact that i can plug it directly into my WFH setup and u just use it as a computer... I borrowed a steamdeck from a friend before i bought the go and while i loved the ergonomics. I just cant be bothered with linux these days unless im being paid.
to be honest, i have not tried FPS mode yet or tried playing anything with controllers detached.
Always sucks when a "bigger" reviewer gives the
You're probably going to be heavily criticized by the Legion Go fans for the cons that you listed, but I actually resonate with a lot of the things you pointed out. This was helpful in making me feel more comfortable about my decision to buy an ROG Ally instead!
thoughts on the msi claw?
Too early to tell. From the short time I had with it at CES I think it'll be a real contender, but it really boils down to Arc performance tuning and MSI software.

The LeLeGo is a mix bag between work and gaming. As they advertised in their ADs
And yes.
LeLeGo with gamepad is a handheld gaming console. With Egpu it became the flagship Compact AIO PC.
When the gamepad is detached, It can be used in education, business, and entertainment.
I can use LeLeGo in my class presentation thanks to wireless mouse and Trackpad.
I think this is a great device .i'm waiting for it in india .you're reasons about the device is not satisfactory for me to be sure it's a medium device .😊
And PCWorld isn't my go to tech news source.
I guess you never updated the system because you can change the start and pause buttons to be in the right place. The system is not that heavy at all. The speakers aren’t the best other than that it’s the best handheld on the market.
Thanks Adam!
Coming from a legion go owner
Adam you hit all the points I was thinking with the Legion Go. I don't own one nor have I tried one but immediately when seeing plenty of videos and reviews that are not all negative, I was thinking about all of those same points. Hopefully Lenovo makes something better.
How is Gordon doing?
Get a 3d printed controller connector and tell me the detachable controller+ setting the console on the table with the kick stand isn't awesome.. I just wish they made the device more powerful with better cooling like the Kun.
Great video - you highlighted many issues I was concerned about pre-launch. Any plans to do a more in-depth video on the Kun?
I won't be just using it for gaming, I be using it as a mini pc and watching movies and you tube ect. So my experience will be different for me.

That mouse is not much use for left handed people.
Joysticks suck on this device. It’s similar to Switch, I can’t play FPS with this. And then the weight made me return it.
Man U reached soo hard to dislike a product
Hi I have all the hand held devices you have , but love the Legion GO Screen it makes reading text easier than Steam Deck and RoG Ally 👍👍
The Legion Go is my go to gaming device!
There are a few versions of the 3d printed connectors. Some are better than others.
Hi! Can you recommend a good adhesive I can use to permanently attach the controllers to the Go so it doesn't detach anymore?
Seriously?? Ok, if that's what you want. Gorilla Glue!! Not coming off!
Thank you, will buy Rog Ally instead since I’m more into fps games.
I also can’t believe he talks about the start and select button. How old is this review? 12 years old? The legion go can map the start and select buttons since forever
With removal controls and a stand like that, it is perfect to use an Xbox controller with
All your cons was not really cons for me still going to buy a lego
That's awesome, I'm glad you dig it!

What is your go to hand held game?
Need bloody drivers! Surprised that the software support was not a con. Lenovo has truly dropped the ball when it comes to their software and driver support.
I am more excited for the AyaNeo Flip DS instead for the dual screen feature.
Yes 32gb ram newer amd chip etc but the price is so high 😔 Now even the 32gb version is sold out on Indiegogo.
@@jackykwan2580 IKR, I am running 3DS games like a 2DS using a Switch with a Flip grip on portable. 3DS/WiiU with a 5.5" portable touchscreen monitor with a 3D printed joycon grip on desktop. Im not gonna regret selling a seemingly abonded machine. if knew when bying how little they care i wouldent have bought it. and that using it as touch device is pure CBT. it worse than using touch screens from the early 90s. it costing 898 dollar where i live for the 512 one is the only reason it hasnt been snapped in half yet.

Though I inadvertently contributed to your viewership, watching this video has informed me to avoid your channel in the future, Thanks a bunch my dude!. 🙂
True. If its not for views then something is lacking. Feels like a troll video
You a worried about the removable parts?😂
In my opinion none of these really feel like cons that would put me off all very simplistic stuff
If you have a gaming PC, it doesn’t make sense to buy this imo. SD is well enough to play games unless you’re specifically looking for games like Destiny, MW etc
Next Gen Legion Go got to have easy upgrade inside standard desktop nvme . 2TB max is not enough for today games.
They could make better controller attachment styles
I love the Legion go.

I love mine
Just a reminder that opinions are allowed to be trash too.

I bought it few days back i felt it completely different i am unsubscribing
Handheld just aren't there yet
I returned my Go after about a week, many pros & cons but ultimately I just didn't love it like the steam deck. Completely disagree on the detachable controllers though. Lounging on sofa or bed with the Go propped up on my belly (kickstand 👌) with my hands by my sides was just blissfully comfortable (despite the poor ergonomics of those top edges). I loved it! It's the one thing I miss.
I have both as well, but the steam deck I've had for about a year. What do you prefer over the Go?
The weakest part of it is power efficiency.
