Really liked the tempo and description in the story- but I’m struggling with some of the subtext and that bizarrely detailed conversation at the very end. Does ANYBODY have an explanation? The allusions are there but I’m not sure what they’re alluding TO...

I didn’t sleep that much as a kid either having Asperger’s Syndrome makes it a little hard. So many thoughts, ideas and energy.

Ok so everybody’s talking about the thumbnail but nobody’s talking about the ending... was he alluding to the dad or the neighbor being a kidnapper? I’m thinking the whole thing was a kid’s imagination distorting a traumatic event into something “less” traumatic. If the dad was the killer, he might have stumbled onto something he shouldn’t have seen in their house as a kid and his mind conjured up a narrative to cover up his dad trying to kill him. The neighbor being guilty doesn’t make much sense because he could’ve just killed him any time he started coming over.

Weirdly enough, I was allowed to watch it but not Family Guy. I kind of understand why, but at the same time many parts of Family Guy were tame compared to some on KoTH at the time.
I have a strange theory about the would be killers in this story. Somehow, they weren't completely real as long as only Grayson saw them. Real enough to kill him, but still not entirely real. That's why there were no bodies or weapons left behind and why they weren't afraid of being killed by Grayson. That's also why the ax was left behind, and the last guy became frightened when Mr. Harkins came out with his gun. He was entirely real now, and if Harkins killed him, he'd really be dead. I know it's far fetched, but it seems to fit. What do you guys think?

I had an easy time scrolling through channels when sick as a kid. Channel 35 Fox Kids at 2:30 PM until 5 PM...... Before and after those times....Channel 4 with a library of VHS tapes. Things got REAL crazy on Saturday. That's when Channel 8 ABC entered the fray from 9 in the morning until noon.

I was once told that my greatest weapon as a woman is my voice. Scream as loud as I possibly can and hope someone hears me. For many, those words are very true. Believe it or not there's not enough news that reports a woman with military combat single-handedly fought and killed her attacker or a female deputy stopped an attacker using her academy training or just something similar. Old man is right, "Kids can scream but can't throw a punch." Sips coffee in one go while I, 5'1 1/2, hope I never will have to use my voice to escape anyone. But, the world got plenty of sickos.
