@ ….. Thankyou ! It’s 0530 in my morning and what a great way to kickstart my day. Andreas has a voice to rival Joe Cocker (don’t know how old you are - but that’s good). Thanks for a heads up on a great singer and the band on his video is no slouch either.
I'm a banjo player. A lot of what he was doing were using pretty standard bluegrass rolls for banjo. But assembling them into order for songs like this in a cover...he basically had to reverse engineer the song and teach himself to play it. Not easy. And all of the musicians had to do that. Using runs they are familiar with, but reassembling them in a way that adapts to how different a song like this from bluegrass. These cover and pickin' on guys are pretty much the peak of musicians. It's not at all easy, and I couldn't do it like this I don't think. Not without a LOT of work.
Sometimes I wish the internet wasn't the size of space, you literally have to sift through soooooo much shit before you find the pay dirt and a gem like this. Excellent talent here...
I'm from South Africa have no idea what bluegrass is... lol but one thing is for sure I enjoy good music and this was just amazing! Thank you all! Just loved it

Kris Nelson Kentucky bluegrass has its background influence mixed from Irish, Scots, European, And African blues music. But it's a very young American genre of music from around the 1940's. Yeah, there's always been music from the immigrants that came to the mountains around here, but that's not bluegrass. Bluegrass is purely American, mixed from everything.
A random traveler stayed at my house from the Netherlands. Said he played banjo. I invited bluegrass friends over for a jam. He could play Foggy Mountain Breakdown and a couple other songs.
Yeah… I hate bluegrass!!! Well… NOT so much the music but the “bluegrass musician”, if you will, due to the simple fact that my wife left me because a “bluegrass musicians” was “fingering the holy F out of her g-stringed instrument” one night, thus she NEVER returned home to me after that one night of fingered ecstasy that he provided her with!!! So, if you take away anything from my story, PLEASE just let it be, “do NOT let the lady you love around nobody that plays in a bluegrass band!!!”. Was thinking the same thing! Rocket Man IS AND ALWAYS WILL BE ELTON JOHN! But, hey, this cover makes you realize just how well the song can be treated in a different genre, yet still being honest and respectful to the Elton John version.
I love Bluegrass Music and this is one of the best groups I have heard perform. I think it is notable they bring their talent to pop music and do it so well. Thank you for posting.

Billy strings you can go back and see him playing with pops in the living room. You should check out this David Bowie cover. ruclips.net/video/gLA5URPoWNo/видео.html
Wow, impressed, really impressed. I never thought anyone could do "rocket man" but I was wrong. Great job boys!
Was thinking the same thing! Rocket Man IS AND ALWAYS WILL BE ELTON JOHN! But, hey, this cover makes you realize just how well the song can be treated in a different genre, yet still being honest and respectful to the Elton John version.
That really was a great rendition of Elton John's classic song. Good job!!
WOW 😮 harmony and timing are perfection, simply amazing.
Not sure why this showed up on my recommended list, but, boy, am I glad it did. Outstanding musicianship all around. Good on ya'...
I like Elton John’s version of this song and came here not having a clue what to expect - WOW am I glad I did.
Elton John's cover is pretty okay, but I like this original version the best.
I smashed the like button after the first note he sang
Me at 0:40 when the banjo smashes in......
flyonthewalls I still hit the like every time
Best of all it never gets old
Outstanding
I like this better than the original Elton John version.
I just made the same comment when I heard this
Bluegrass makes everything better. And you'll never hear the original version without slapping your thigh and urging them to _come on_ with the speed
You have got to be kidding..when we're you born

It's too bad RUclips won't let me like this each time I listen to it.
Can't not smile whilst watching this
I have no words to express my appreciation of such a wonderful interpretation of a song by a Bluegrass band !
Wow, just wow.
There should be something "stronger" than a thumbs up you deserve it.
EXCELLENT ---- I HAVE PLAYED WITH THIS VIDEO ABOUT 20 TIMES ---- LOVE IT !!!!!
I came across this video and being an Elton fan I had to check it out. I really enjoyed it. Great job.
I love Bluegrass Music and this is one of the best groups I have heard perform. I think it is notable they bring their talent to pop music and do it so well. Thank you for posting.
