I apologize for messing with your video analytics. I've probably watched this video 10,000 times over the last 9 years. I love it just as much in 2023 as I did in 2014. This is probably one of the best pieces of art ever created!
I have to add to 'Watch List' for this faultless and joyful Rocketman rendition over the years. This cover is simply ... out of this world and a giant leap for Rocketmankind!
@@hermes9220 If he has Bible teachings up on youtube please give me the like....I am sure he gives a good sermon if he puts that level of effort into playing that well.
Funny, it seems their focus is on Metallica covers yet I think this is their best song. Great job fellas. ( not saying the Metallica covers are bad, this one just blows them away) Well done!
Fun fact: For every four members any bluegrass band has, one is legally required to work for the county or township. Volunteer fire counts as long as he has a mustache.
That's what I like about this... Like bluegrass has that sound you expect from GOOD grass... They didn't just play and sing they picked and sang a bluegrass song, nice transition licks and nice rolling to match it all up. Harmony, good spread. Perfect all the way around.
I feel ya Bear Cat and if i'm being honest I probably do listen to this at least every other day. In fact I listen to Iron Horse quite regularly and this is coming from someone who was raised on 70's rock.
This is one of the best covers to any song I’ve ever heard. In fact, I prefer it over the original, which I am also very fond of. I do not often listen to music, nor do I have a propensity to listen to this genre, but on the occasion that I choose to listen to something, I am usually paying special attention to signs of musical and artistic mastery, to which I often feel as though musical pieces may have been better if certain aspects were modified in some way. This is a top-tier musical performance, which I would say is as close to perfect as I’ve ever heard before. I simply had no interest in critique. It’s wonderful. I wept @1:59 from the blend of harmonics and instrumentation. Credit to the artist and sound mixer. An outstanding performance.
I was raised in Bluegrass a genre my daddy loved and led me to love. He played every string instrument there was and gave me my love for music. And I love these guys. Makes my heart smile and brings back wonderful amazing memories.
I've just watched several of your videos and only one word comes to mind, Awesome! You guys are fantastic! I'm totally loving the spin you are putting on these songs. But Rocket Man, this one almost gave me chills, it's been a favorite song of mine since it first came on the radio. I see Elton John liked it and I'm glad he did. You fellas knocked it out of the park. Thank you for your music and please make more!
Do you know why bluegrass musicians don't smile while they play???............. Because they take their music VERY SERIOUSLY!!!! ( That's an old Bill Monroe joke )
This is fucking awesome! I'm not even the biggest fan of Bluegrass but they are all major beasts on their respective instruments which makes for some sick music. Again, I do not like Bluegrass but I will say that my four new favorite instruments are the Guitar, Bass, Mandolin, and the Banjo. IRON HORSEEEE!!!!!!
Pretty old video now, but I love this. Plus, it really makes you think about how sure, an astronaut is a prestigious job but at the end of the day, they are just like us in that they miss their home, and have to fix stuff and keep boring records but in space.
I have never posted a comment on youtube before, but this song right here, definitely deserves one. I am very impressed! I dont typically like bluegrass, but y'all are some extremely talented men! I adored your cover quite possibly more than the original. You got a fan in me for sure!!!
I would love to hear you do a version of Ground Control to Major Tom. My kids are 6 and 10 and always ask me to put on your songs. They are amazing versions of great songs. Thank you for your art.
I feel bad for being born in this century. I am very passionate about music, and I realized a long time ago I missed out on the times when music was actually about people doing what they love.
'bet my bottom dollar in a Time Warp you'd see these ol' boys with long hair ; 6foot amplifiers ; and gi'tars that look like busted window panes ... ... but you Gotta get back to your Roots sooner or later -(hopefully) 👍 2 Thumbs Up 👍
This the first song I had every heard from Iron Horse. Found myself dancing around the man cave!! lol Just an unbelievable cover of an awesome classic.
Me and my husband have been rocking our 9 month old to sleep to this song every night the last couple weeks. It’s got a great rocking beat. Great cover
A cover, by principal, can't be better than the original. If something can't exist without something coming first, it can't be better. Incredible cover but stop with the nonsense.
I watched this shortly after published back in 2014 and have watched it almost every week since. Cannot get enough of this song and Iron Horse has become a regular part of my rotation now. I am not a huge music fan (I listen to very little anymore), but everything these guys do just really gets to me.
solid work I must have viewed this song at least a thousand times haha. Makes me so happy I have always loved this song. This version gave me goosebumps. I don't get goosebumps.

I can't say this about a lot of video but the more I watch this the more I like it.
Yes, -Sir !!
me too! :))
This is my first time hearing this. They did a phenomenal job!
I have to add to 'Watch List' for this faultless and joyful Rocketman rendition over the years.
This cover is simply ... out of this world and a giant leap for Rocketmankind!
Kick ass!
I love Bluegrass and I love Elton John. This is like when chocolate ran into Peanut Butter and we all got Reeses.
KodenameKrusty I know right they are freakin phenomenal
Peak simile game by the way; that was very good
They go to my church he preaches
KodenameKrusty if you ran into Elton John you wouldn't get peanut butter and chocolate, but you could get your fudge packed

TOTALLY totally agree YumFuz, and it would be even better if they'd just bring the bass solo up a little louder.........smidgeon
kev Agreed.
Idk if it beats elton...
Agreed. This is definitely their best cover.
Fun fact: For every four members any bluegrass band has, one is legally required to work for the county or township. Volunteer fire counts as long as he has a mustache.
Some truly killer harmonies. Seriously talented guys.
That's what I like about this... Like bluegrass has that sound you expect from GOOD grass... They didn't just play and sing they picked and sang a bluegrass song, nice transition licks and nice rolling to match it all up. Harmony, good spread. Perfect all the way around.
Bluegrass musicians are the best musicians. They can play Everything

This is off the chain. Beautiful harmony
Four middle aged men putting other bands to shame by sheer talent. This is how it's done. Brilliant and always makes me sing along.
An island of gold in a sea of shit music. Thank you so much for making some of the best music i have ever heard. I love you guys.
I never get tired of hearing your rendition of this! I could listen to it every day.

I feel ya Bear Cat and if i'm being honest I probably do listen to this at least every other day. In fact I listen to Iron Horse quite regularly and this is coming from someone who was raised on 70's rock.

@Gawdamit The banjo makes it a happy tune!

Yep, I agree. This cover is a giant leap for Rocketmankind! I love it.

Some truly killer harmonies. Seriously talented guys.
My brother and I love bluegrass also love the soggy bottom boys in the George Clooney movie Oh brother where are you?
Can't stop listening to Rocket Man I'm addicted to listening to this song. Iron horse rule definitely better than original sorry Elton.

I was raised in Bluegrass a genre my daddy loved and led me to love. He played every string instrument there was and gave me my love for music. And I love these guys. Makes my heart smile and brings back wonderful amazing memories.

You guys perform some great covers. You add soul to the songs. Thank you for brightening our days.

+TheBrannagan i also got chills!
those guys made that song a million times more bad ass
I love this more than the original
Rocketman, the original Elton John was haunting and forlorn. The song lends itself well to the bluegrass genre for those very reasons.
Well said Empress.
Paul , you are a pathetic crude excuse for a man.
I absolutely love this version.
A true bluegrass band.... not a smile among them, fantastic.
Got that high lonesome sound.
Do you know why bluegrass musicians don't smile while they play???............. Because they take their music VERY SERIOUSLY!!!!
( That's an old Bill Monroe joke )
Truth at it's best !
Pin this
lmao
This just doesn't get old.
This just stays awesome.
The Petersens don't get old either.
Wow, fantastic! First time I heard you guys, love it. As fast as it may be, I think bluegrass is very calming music. Great job!
It's the dependability of that bass line - 'boome buume boome buume boome boome...'
this rendition of rocket man is fucking amazing............ gives me chills every time
There isn't anything better than this cover. I'm amazed.
Ive always loved this song, but this cover is absolutely the best!!!
The absolute best version hands down
Awesome, funny, sad, well sung GREAT song.
Pretty old video now, but I love this. Plus, it really makes you think about how sure, an astronaut is a prestigious job but at the end of the day, they are just like us in that they miss their home, and have to fix stuff and keep boring records but in space.
People keep saying the banjo dude is killing it and he definitely is. Everyone of these guys is killing it.

This is excellent musicianship, you can tell they've been playing together for a long time.
I have never posted a comment on youtube before, but this song right here, definitely deserves one. I am very impressed! I dont typically like bluegrass, but y'all are some extremely talented men! I adored your cover quite possibly more than the original. You got a fan in me for sure!!!

I feel bad for being born in this century. I am very passionate about music, and I realized a long time ago I missed out on the times when music was actually about people doing what they love.
The things you are talking about about are not somethings that can die
Excellent fellas--truly excellent.
Thank you for the smiles,
:-)
These guys would be a great band for any occasion. The kind of happy music that leaves you a little melancholy.
this song is perfect . the bass intro is set the tone.
I am from Brazil. I'm impressed! I'm Amazed! This sound mix took me! My best find of this year. Congratulations! Iron Horse and Elton John!!!!
If you like a good sound mix, check out Chris Isaak. Even his live mixes are amazing.
Fantastic
When the cover is so good you forget this ISN'T the original song
Uh, song duration "4:20"? That's 'California Serendipity', courtesy of Mr. Nelson. Thankee, Willie! ... ...
Beautiful , well done!!
'bet my bottom dollar in a Time Warp you'd see these ol' boys with long hair ; 6foot amplifiers ; and gi'tars that look like busted window panes ...

Amazing job. Couldn't have been done better.
Very nice.
I’m not the biggest fan of blue grass but this was very well done. The harmonizing is on point!
Me and my husband have been rocking our 9 month old to sleep to this song every night the last couple weeks. It’s got a great rocking beat. Great cover
Had to come back. This song started playing in my head while showering hahaha
I love this rendition: so lovely. What I don't quite get is why they're playing in a sauna.
I love this so much!!! Stumbled across yall last night and can't wait to hear more!!!! Fantastic artists!!!!!!!
How could we not like such musicianship? bravo.
This is beyond excellent. Thank you.
Bluegrass Fusion, Excellent!
I can't stop playing this...!
Me too.....
Sorry elton but better than original by far.
Best version
They do that ALOT with songs they cover 😂😂 fire on the mountain for example
You can love something without hating something.
A cover, by principal, can't be better than the original. If something can't exist without something coming first, it can't be better. Incredible cover but stop with the nonsense.
Banjo guy - bluegrass hero right there. 💪
The banjo and mandolin in this video is tremendous.
That's my kind of music! Rock on!
This is amazing. In just 3 days, I've become your biggest fan! Please keep making new songs. Also, greetings from Turkey :).
Better than the original.
I listened to the origin;l of in this the 70's. This is so much better. These guys are awesome!!!!!
I watched this shortly after published back in 2014 and have watched it almost every week since. Cannot get enough of this song and Iron Horse has become a regular part of my rotation now. I am not a huge music fan (I listen to very little anymore), but everything these guys do just really gets to me.

I must have viewed this song at least a thousand times haha. Makes me so happy
I have always loved this song. This version gave me goosebumps. I don't get goosebumps.

Who cares? That's their problem. This is epic! You know it, I know it, that's enough.....
This is some awesome travelin' music...
This has became my go to song I LOVE this. Give me the chills such a great job.
THE BEST VERSION EVER !
I'm still here watching in 2019 .
Hell yeah brother, cheers from September
Never seen a Mandolin player that didn’t shred super hard.
The original was recorded before Elon Musk was one year old..
ELTON JOHN the profit..
Absolutely top shelf,, Sir Elton should be paying residuals to these guys. Mandolin is an absolute monster, bass is sweet as honey
Is it just me or did the banjo play knock this out the park without even breaking sweat? The UK needs way more bluegrass like you lot.
