Lou Reed is definitely that artist for the people that adore his music if you listen to ANY of his songs, ANY even if its not part of his greatest hits collection, you'd just wanna shout "THIS WITHOUT A DOUBT IS WHAT YOU F'N CALL MUSIC!"
There are few voices in rock 'n roll that can go so deep as Lou Reed does on a regular basis. It's a rare gift. The quality of the songs of course helps, but Reed is probably one of the top 10 or 15 rock performers of all time.
Wow! Best version I think I've ever seen. Did I say, timeless? lol Starts out like 2001 A Space Oddessy or something. Thanks, I needed a lift tonite... mourning another passing of a good friend.
he plays every song as he is feeling it a that moment, the beauty of his songs is that they can be played many ways and touch someone new each time.. Is this my fav version of this song.. not at all...
I saw Lou Reed live in 1977. He was unbelievable. If you were *alive* the, and saw him live, please feel free to comment. He is just doing another take off on his song. I am disappointed he didnt take a solo, which he could have easily done, but this is his history.
The intro is not crap at all. This is accomplished musicians playing accomplished music. A very tight band showing you how its done. Stick that in your Bieber.
How can anyone write stupid comments about Lou Reed and his masterpieces? Guess some people don't understand his artistic mastery. Just have to defend one of the best. Debby
Lou has been playing this song for close to 40 years, of course he's going to change it up to keep it interesting to himself. If all you people complaining want to hear the VU version, go listen to the album.
When I saw Lou in London in '84 after his gig at Wembly Arena , playing mostly New Sensations (he surprised us all again didn't he! :)) - But the reason I Chose to comment on this version (instead of the Rock n Roll Animal Riff we all know so well) - Is Because - he said that afternoon he finished the gig with Sweet Jane & Heroin , but Jammed them, Cos he was never happier than when he was " Doin it Easy"
the haters of this version can have their opinions, but their wrong! this version kicks ass! im not a massive rou reed fan but i love this, much better than others exept maybe the Cowboy Junkies one
Rarely understood, frequently misinterpreted, but always and forever one of rock's icons.
RIP Lou.

It only a minute long. As a Godspeed you Black Emperor fan that is pitifully short.
@Viperion444
The intro is the guitar intro of his album "Magic and Loss", a song called Dorita.
It's not pure crap. It's a song.
