LOU REED & DAVID BOWIE - Dirty Blvd.

  • Pedro vive accanto al Wilshire Hotel
guarda fuori dalla finestra senza vetri
    i muri sono di cartone
ha dei giornali sotto i piedi
    e suo padre lo picchia
perchè è troppo stanco per mendicare
    Ha nove fratelli e sorelle
    tirati su e sottomessi
è difficile correre quando hai segni
    di frustate sulle gambe
Pedro sogna di essere più vecchio
    e di uccidere suo padre
    ma è una cosa improbabile
    e va nello sporco boulevard
    Finirà nello sporco boulevard
esce fuori, per lo sporco boulevard
    va giù, nello sporco boulevard
Questa stanza costa 2.000 dollari al mese
    puoi crederci, amico, è vero
da qualche parte un proprietario ride
    al punto di pisciarsi sotto
nessuno sogna di diventare un dottore
    o un avvocato o qualcosa
    sognano solo di spacciare
    nello sporco boulevard
    Portatemi gli affamati, gli stanchi
i poveri e gli piscierò addosso
questo è ciò che la Statua dellIntolleranza dice
le vostre masse di poveri accalcati
    picchiamoli a sangue
    facciamola finita
    e buttiamoli nel boulevard
Bisogna finire, su quello sporco boulevard
andare fuori per lo sporco boulevard
sta scendendo giù per lo sporco boulevard
    uscire
    Fuori è una notte luminosa
    danno unopera al Lincoln Center
le star del cinema arrivano in limousine
    le luci al laser proiettate
    oltre il profilo di Manhattan
ma le luci sono spente nelle strade malfamate
Un bambino è in piedi vicino al Lincoln Tunnel
vende rose di plastica per un dollaro
il traffico è intasato sulla 39esima strada
    le troie della TV chiamano
    i poliziotti per succhiarglielo
    E intanto al Wilshire
    Pedro sta seduto e sogna
ha trovato un libro di magia
    dentro un bidone della spazzatura
    guarda le figure
    e fissa il soffitto crepato
    al tre dice
    spero di scomparire
    E volare, volare via
    da questo sporco boulevard
voglio volare, da questo sporco boulevard
voglio volare, da questo sporco boulevard
    voglio volare volare volare volare
    da questo sporco boulevard
    Voglio volare via
    voglio volare
    volare volare via
    voglio volare
    volare volare via (volare-)

David's almost freestyle abd weary singing where he follows the melody and then sometimes not, and Lou's spoken poetry lyrics filled with ennui make this one of the best damn collaborations ever. I sae them both individually, but would have given anything to see them perform together.
