I’m happy this song was a massive hit for Lou Reed. It was awesome in the 70s and us teens were shocked at the lyrics because nothing like this had been played on radio. “Did he just sing something about giving head!” Lol. Fantastic rhythm.

Never thought Lou liked to sing his greatest commercial success- he clearly is enjoying this with the band and audience.
What I like most is that... he doesn't care if he played well or badly, or if he sang well or badly. Or even if his music was selling well or poorly.
He showed himself as he was. With his virtues and defects. But he never hid behind anything.
This was my 3rd Lou Reed show, I remember it well........he was awesome that night

I live in this town but sadly I was too young to ever see this theater, but at least there’s still videos. There’s a shitload of corruption in this town and not too long ago some figures on the school board were trying to remove bands from schools; a lot of music still lives and comes out of here, we have an award winning marching band and I hope that someday we’ll be this great again
