I can't help but get a little sad. Some of these men are dead and so I will be some day. I love this song.
That's OK it's a sad song.
This makes me sad I didn’t make the effort to see Lou play a few shows in Brooklyn, not too long before he died. We are all gone too soon.
NO one compares to Lou Reed!
5:30 The chills really kick in! RIP Lou Reed and Peter Wood, two brilliant musicians.
5:32 tbh
Lou was doing Creep way before Radiohead. Powerful and emotional version.
wow. u r right
what do you mean??
@@OGRE_HATES_NERDSBecause this live version of Satellite of Love sounds very similar to Creep
Never heard of this song until now and I definitely heard Radiohead
International treasure is Lou Reed
This is. A beautiful raw version, I think it's
So powerful because he wrote it, he feels it.
Whoever does like this version, doesn't know
LOU REED. He walked the wildside.
Lou Reed, so so cool, unreal, just love the voice ,the lyrics are just great, truly great music ,
The outro is rockin'! It's cool seeing Lou have so much fun on stage.
Once i saw in Cascais Lisboa Portugal . And before he went in sage he was playing flipper balls on the back stage. Just to descomprimir. Dont know how to say it in english. It was 1980. Imagine. So good. Didnt smoke joints toguether but almost. The close we were to the stage. Good man. Rock and roll.
I see him 1980 in Genua. And he looks me.
Very nice & kind what you have written. I have never been in the Cascais Lisbao, but I saw Lou once in concert in the Paris Zenith (with Saunders & Quinn (1984?)) & their performance did us much good. So sad he's left us. Keep it up.@@teresaribeiro9886
Satellite's gone...RIP Lou!
Robert Quine was an AMAZING guitarist... Very underrated!
Underrated? He's a legend. I first read about him in Creem magazine
@@adminstrativeuser8930 I saw him many times with the Voidoids and let me tell you he was a legend even then
Favourite guitarist, was lucky to see hIm with Lloyd Cole
Had to scroll down for the inevitable 'underrated' comment but sho'nuff there it is.
prob should have just smoked or a measure
Love his voice so much, always wished I could’ve met him. His songs meant so much to me as a teen, I love sharing them with others now as an adult 💞
I was never a major Velvet Underground fan growing up in the 70's but this song and 'Sweet Nothing' had a big impact on me.
Satellite of love, love it....
I remember listening the Velvet in the Underground Paris....
With my walkman Aiwa 25 years ago
Music is just too good, entraînante ...
Bisous
You are so old !!! ;-)
One of the US’s greatest poets.
Love this era of Lou Reed. Great arrangements with amazing musicians contributing to the sound. This performance along with the Ritz show in 1986 are among my favorites. His vocals are strong and concise, and the band is tight.
Who knew Hunter S Thompson could play lead guitar so well
thats Robert Quine the guitarist from the voidoids
And Fuckin Amazin
it's Jim Lahey! RIP.
This is one of Lou’s best and Quine is a big reason why on this version. He kicks ass.
he's not playing that well
Incredible
What an amazing artist ❤
Wait, what? People have a problem with his singing here? Then you're not familiar with Lou Reed.
Velvet Underground, Lou Reed. John Cale , Nico, Chelsae Hotel Jan Cremer, New York in the Sixties@ Andy Warhol, Shouls I Write more..?
yeap.
People are strange
Wait, what? This is Lou Reed ?!
Usually amazing or completely shit no in between
Da sempre innamorata di QUEST'UOMO immenso, sexy, leggendario, anticonformista. Riposati ora Lou.
The quality of this recording is amazing
Fernando Saunders's fretless bass always made Lou Reed's music even better. Just love that sound.
Mwaaaaaahhhh!!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Fernando's bass sounds beautiful
that's because he is a great musician, nice recording
Yes! Thanks for mentioning Fernando. He also played at the ARMS benefit shows....
Severely underrated and under appreciated. Lou Reed changed rock forever. Miss you, Lou.
Not by us who were there....😊
Robert Quine is above this...TURN IT UP
R.I.P. , Lou...... I know you're still rockin'.......
LEGEND ❤️❤️❤️
Lou Reed music and singing makes him so unique- a true artist who I was so privileged to see at Festival Hall - Melbourne Australia 🇦🇺
Lou Reed - one ot the greatest!!!

Classic Lou..especially with Robert Quine..
lo escucho y siempre remueve mi alma... entre los mas grandes ...gracias lou reed
One hell of a song
Great bass playing. 👌
Greetings to the drummer who seems to be a great lad!
Absolutely amazing, love the intensity, he's putting so much passion in to this clearly visible by his expressions and mannerism throughout. Same with Quine on guitar. just great... 🙏🎸
I had front row seats for Lou Reed in 1976 but it was cancelled I still bummed out 😢
Omg I love that voice. He was one of the best!
What a great version
Rip to Lou Reid, Robert Quine, and Peter Wood.
The more I listen to Lou Reed, the longer I find myself looking for the Lou Reed version of Transformer
I love to watch things on ZOO TV...
Oh, how funny! I first heard this at my grandmother's house who allowed me to stay up late and "watch things on TV" and I loved her so much, then wowed by this song. She let me have a radio in my bedroom there.....yahoo! Thank you LOU!
Tout simplement génial, touchant, magnifique 💘
Lou w/ almost a smile !!
What a gem this is🖤
'One of great unrecognised romantics,' Lou Reed.

Blonde Lou Reed? What?
@@MusicTeacherGuyNorristown reed dyed his hair blonde for at least one photo.
What a wonderful song
His vocals are outstanding, unique, without effort .
Hey, I loved Bowie's sound but both versions are great. Here, the mix of bass, drums and guitar is welcomed in any bar with a band. Lou and Quinn were rockin' for sure!
Sorry. This is lLou Reed song.
@@teresaribeiro9886 Bowie produced the album version
Sublime
Love THIS DUDE
grande versione stile blues ballad questa uomo era incredibile e penso che con david bowie sia stato il numero 1 del rock e come lui era 10 anni avanti agli altri
sandro cantini Proprio vero...
Dedicada a mis padres familiares y amigos dep en su memoria ❤❤❤
Just love his effortless vocals
Grandissimo, manca il suo genio...
best version ever!

So sweet. The "unromantic" man.? I wouldnt say so. The so sweet sweet man. Always loved him. And will.
He was a far ahead of everyone else by years as Bowie was. Neither have ever had any competition.
love it.
I was there!
oh so great! I never got a chance to see Lou live! and here I am
How is this a romantic song, was reed being sarcastic?
@@talldarkandahandfull5781 look deeper into the meaning of what hes saying

pristine show!
I thank God I got to walk the earth the same time as Lou Reed 🖤
Lou Reed, the fallen angel.
Bobby Quine and his middle shed!!!
Quine looking cool as ice in this. He played that solo like it was second-nature, I can see why Reed liked him.
Yeeeeeaaaaah!
Te extraño Lou !
I only found the velvet underground original demo on here the other day, its awesome
Genius and full band smacked the fuck out wonderfully.
Very adult,
I loved it.
Lol
I wish Robert was higher in the mix!!!
Lou, why, why? Why you try to make me cry? -thanku
Top!
Sucks I never got to see perform live the godfather of punk!
I saw him around this time. Wish I’d seen him earlier but I’m grateful for the chance I had. I also had a chance to interview him which was very enjoyable. I’ll always love Lou Reed.
Lock Blackett. Tideswell Road. Putney. Early 70s. John Thompson. RIP Gentlemen. It was fun.
