David do you know if this is a limited run game? Target and GameStop don't have it available in store. I have too much to play and I don't want to miss out
I suggest have a party member equipped with a Mirage quartz on the Extra line to get the Treasure Hunter Shard skill to see treasure chests on the map.
That too normally I'd have both IT and the one that shows monsters on the map screen as Red dots BOTH set to Agnes only BUT theirs like 2 to 3 points in the FULL game where she can NOT be used in that case give those to anybody that is NOT Van himself at those points in game and at those points Van Feri and Aaron are the ONLY playable party members.
@@veghesther3204why not on Van?
Makes me happy to see the number of folks getting into Falcom RPGs increase by the year.
Appreciate the tips, this is the year I'm finally gonna get into the Trails series
Hurry
Like most games in the trails series NG+ offers you a chance to carry things over and get true endings if you miss things in first play through don't stress!!
That’s the weakest part of the series: Missables.
Takes away freedom and leaves a bad taste behind for those committing to a single playthrough.
If you want to experience the same thing all over again, then more power to you. That is freedom. But locking out true endings or achievements behind another 60 hours of the same exact game experience is manipulative.
There are more games out there with little time left to play them all.
Great thumbnail: the heart and soul of this arc.
This doesn't fall in the same category of what this video is, but it definitely is something I wish I knew, because I almost refunded this game:
If you purchase this on Steam, there isn't a distinction between the Japanese and English version in the catalog, and the text and language will be in Japanese when you start to play it. You're meant to download the English patch as well, which also comes with English voice acting, so it isn't a Geofront situation where it's fan made.
In spite of this I think it's worth getting it on Steam because it looks so much better than on Switch, with less pop in and frame rate issues.
Trails through Daybreak is going to be my first game in the Trails series. Thanks for the tips!
You’re in for a wild ride!
If you like it, I would go back and play the others. The whole series as a whole is fantastic
trials games also rise in value over times so it's great for collectors. these games are going for around $80 or more online.
I just picked up my copy! Can’t wait to get started 🤩 Thank you for your helpful video
You are so welcome!
You can turn off the holo core voices in combat by Orbment > Change holo core > Change voices. This one was driving me nuts pretty quickly.
My first Trails game. Wish me luck!
Awesome video, just about to start my first playthrough of Daybreak, but had to watch your video on it first.
Thank you for the tips! I was wondering how the alignment system worked! Excited to go on this adventure especially with Van!
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks! I’ll keep all this in mind if I ever pick this game up. :)
I looove your tank! I need . Thanks for the video! U walked me through Star Ocean and now this :)
Glad I could help!
It's probably gonna be a while before I can grab it, but I fell in love with the demo right away, so I might jump straight into this when I get it (even though I wanna play Sky and all the others sometime, too)
Also, thank you for letting us max out every alignment on one run, Falcom. I can't stand when long RPGs force you into a single alignment/faction per playthrough!
I already commented on this video about this game on Steam Deck, but another thing I wish I knew sooner is that this version pushes the RAM to its limits, and as a result not having the correct cache settings will cause crashing while playing, especially after big graphical story moments.
If you turn off the asset caching settings, that should help with the crashing, but it may also increase the load times slightly. At the very least, this should prevent the game from crashing so hard that you have to manually turn the system off. I'm not sure if this impacts it on PC, though
Huh, I’m on PS5 and never experienced any crashes or issues
@@davidvinc this game has more patches than a thrift store quilt, so hopefully this advice prevents people from having these issues
Man, I just done with Crossbell. TRAILS OF COLD STEEL 1 is next
Enjoy the ride
Thank you for your tips. They are really helpful for when I get to play the games.
Glad you like them!
Thanks for your videos, my friends and I like them a lot!
Glad you like them!
Dude your jacked as shit. Time for my to hit the gym.
I’ve got the collectors edition and can’t wait to play, but I’m still playing through persona 3 reload😂
A little good news : The NEC PC-8801 version of Nihon Falcom's 1991 classic Popful Mail is coming to the switch but the bad news it's not the Sega CD version
Really, you are probably the only youtuber that mentions the Gagharv trilogy. And no one even remembers the Iselhasa Duology...
Regarding tips for Daybreak. I guess one which is very important is that there is a way to show the numbered tuns on the turn order bar.
I’m still waiting for a translation of the second game!
@@davidvinc I played it using a translation tool, but that's not ideal at all.
@NLeseul has a re-translation of the PC-98 version of the first game on gitlab. I also gave him the tools to be able to extract the dialogue from the PC-98 version of Legend of Heroes II some time ago. So, maybe someday will have a faithful translation of both games.
trails through daybreak 2 just got announced! holy crap!
It’s a happy day!! :)
Loving this game great video
Excellent video man thank you
Glad you enjoyed it :)
So for the alignment system u can even it out on a 1st playthrough to get all options? 🤔
Love from Belgium 🇧🇪 ❤
This may sound crazy but, given that Trails in the Sky is coming to modern platforms I'm seriously considering waiting to play this and marathoning the whole series when Trails in the sky Second chapter finally gets a western release.
It is definitly worth it. There are tiny bits of references to the other trails games in Daybreak and knowing about them brings a smile everytime because you were a part of that story. That makes this game series so good.
Not sure why but it was hard for me to focus when the first point was “it’s okay to start here” because I already decided that a long time ago so I kept tuning out and I kept missing when the #2 through #5 started
Huh, the moral system seems interesting, but does it also have an impact on the story or is it only your stats + the extra boss? And how does it work in NG+,does it get reset every time or can you max evey stat and then fight 3 bosses per playthrough after the 3rd? The latter sounds implausible, but one can dream as you can never have enough bonus bosses.
I suggest a first playthrough completely blind...do not use guides at all and just enjoy..Chances are you will miss stuff but it is okay use guides for supplement playthroughs
Is it worth it to just consume all the meals and snacks to boost gourmet points? Or save food for when it counts?
lol this video is about Trails through Daybreak and we already got a trailer for Trails through Daybreak 2
Trails time
nice
Game is very cool so far. Just can't get used to action combat. Orbment system is downgrade because you can't customize your arts just like in CS games. You are forced to use ones that holo core have + ONLY 2 of your choice. That's not enough.
P.S. You can activate S-Boost only 2 times per character not 3.
Would be nice if nis would send my collector’s edition
U remind me a lot of kirby I think u can guess why davidvinc
Oh happy day! I will not be taking appointments or calls for the next 100 hrs or so.🎉
Hahhaha! I can so relate!
NONE of the games take me that long I beat MOST of the Previous 10 games in UNDER 30 HOURS EACH.
@@veghesther3204 you aren’t playing them right then!
Well Very easy/Easy mode + high speed mode on + CUTSCENE SKIP EVERYTHING and even THIS ONE only took me 15 HOURS to beat the ENTIRE game WITH EVERY OPTIONAL quest still beaten.
So I’m having fun with it but the way they split the voice acting is a little disorienting. Feels completely random.
Hey David, the Discord link is still invalid by the way. "This invite might be expired, or you might not have permission to join." Happens with my wife's account too.
Oh hey, I just noticed there are 2 discord links in your more info section. The top one works, the bottom one does not.
KIRBY
The downside is this game is way too easy even on Nightmare. My tipp dont purchase every new Equipment ingame !!
👅💪
and on a first RUN ONLY Play on VERY EASY/EASY MODE NEVER attempt Nightmare (bosses)/Hard mode for the field battles UNLESS you START the game AT LV 99.
I'm gonna do Normal mode to get a general feel for the game, and then Hard mode for when I get more used to the game.
I won't hard mode still needs a LV 99 party at the start to NOT die in 1 hit even from the NORMAL enemies turned based battles only.
Very easy is cutscene mode. I always advise normal mode at lowest.
I still won't even play NORMAL mode in Cold Steel 3 to 4 + Previous game at all either on a first run I played those 3 on Easy/Very easy ONLY.
@@SuiteLifeofDioBrando Indeed. Very Easy is brainless game journalist mode. Just play Normal to get a general feel, and then later on hard mode once you're comfortable.
