I think they blurred the other one because it was the cover of a magazine, which means you can probably see the magazine's name brand all over the cover. On the other hand, the other page that is unblurred looks like it can come from any beauty or fashion magazine.
Zoe Waardenburg that's me n my friends, at lunch we sit in the library and read, write or play video games while the popular people are either putting on makeup (which they aren't allowed to do at my school but they do it anyway) or sit on the grass gossiping
"Remember when everyone would just where one shade of eyeshadow" or "when it was cool to wear just eyeshadow without eyeliner" uhhhhhhhh y'all when did that STOP being a thing???? Tons of people still do this
I know, I do both of those things all the time. I guess they just said that because that's not what's trendy anymore, but everyone does their makeup differently so...
It's out-of-date. I usually just leave eyeshadow and eyeliner off my eyes, and when I do decide to take the time to apply them, it's just a modest 2-3 colors (light-base shadow, neutral-medium shadow around mid-lid, then darker shadow around outer corner of lid) and a small wing of eyeliner. Sometimes no wing-- just enough on the upper-outer corner to make my top lashes look thicker (but not outrageous). Less is more, imo.
ikr! out of date is just not a thing tbh, people should wear what they want and not what magazines tell them too. i still do that w just a little bit of pink for example bc i don't like putting too much on my eyes
+PandaBaby51 I've seen people like that at work with their eyelashes hanging off and visible layers of texture and makeup on their face. Young girls who watch those tutorials do it at school, it's awful and just looks tacky.
+Estelle Fejokwu you sure about that? Take a look at any runway and tell me if that's what you see. Sure these days there's a lot more movements of acceptance for all body types and skin colors but over all I the fashion industry and tv and movies it's still tall Caucasian women who are the ideal beauty standard. Anyway I'm not here to ague with you're entitled to your opinion and we are entitled to ours :3 good day to you.
OMG does anyone else remember that double ended mascara that was white on one side and black on the other then throughout the day the black would flake off and your eyelashes would be white and grey. agggghhh
I still do my makeup like in 'the 2000s'. Awkward... Like, I wear eyeshadow without eyeliner I own a liquid eyeshadow I don't use beauty blenders 50% of my makeup is applied with my fingers And make many a bad decision on my face every day
If you have oily or acne prone skin, the fingers mightn't help with that but just do what works :) and you can make some really nice looks with liquid eyeshadow! I never wear eyeliner with eyeshadow, as long as you have mascara it's okay (so your eyelashes aren't coated blue ahaha)
At least you're doing mascara! Eyeshadow with no liner and no mascara is a weird thing. Especially if there's fall out on the lashes and they're coated blue.
And I'm off to the races, cases of Bacardi chasers. Chasing me all over town cause he knows I'm wasted. Facing time again on Rikers Island and I won't get out
Because I'm crazy baby, I need you to come here and save me. I'm your little scarlet, starlet, singin' in the garden. Kiss me on my open mouth. Ready for you
Sara Ozuna because I'm craaazy, babyyy I need you to come here and save me, I'm your little starlet, scarlet, singing in the garden, chasing me all over tooown ready for ya
I've been a makeup junkie for ages so I can firmly say that just isn't true. The truth is that the trend was the no make-up look that required just as many products and time but a lot less talent. It was an awful time to be someone that loves bold makeup.
Queen Halo no back then they did just as much makeup they just had different trends and they didn’t have things like brushes and beauty blenders I don’t think they had setting spray or ad many techniques cause there was still plenty of makeup
what is wrong with wearing eyeshadow without eyeliner? some people say that they only wear eyeshadow or mascara or lipstick when they go out well I have that thing with eyeliner
+chupaxf Look at doddleoddle :) her makeup usually consists of contour, mascara, bit of foundation and that, and bit of eyeshadow and it looks lovely on her
I graduated high school in 2001, so I learned how to do makeup from Seventeen and Teen magazine with late 90s looks mostly. My friends sort of helped me, but honestly all I had for help were the instructions in magazines and on the backs of makeup containers. When I started using Covergirl quads or trios I would use the instructions printed on the back to get a look from it. There were no makeup brushes, there were sponges and I never liked them. So I'd use sponge tips for eyeshadow and my fingers for the rest and my powder puff for powder.
The main difference was that there were no black liquid eyeliner. Also there was no RUclips (yet) so the majority of people were at a very basic level of makeup skill, so those magazines had to be very simple about their makeup looks (actually, they are very simple today too). Another thing was that there were different color combinations which today are considered weird, but that's true for every era. Just look at the 70's color pallet. Bottom line: it wasn't bad, just different.
As a certified hardcore goth girl I assure you there was definitely liquid black eyeliner it was the most impossible thing to work with but it definitely existed I think I just painted my eyelids with it and my Marilyn Monroe beauty mark always looks like a smudge
It seems like I am the only female ever that their parents did not care when they started wearing make up. I didn't actually start wearing it regularly until like grade 10 or 11 but I had make up from probably grade 8 upwards.
I started wearing makeup at 11. Mainly mascara and eyeliner, sometimes blue or green eyeshadow. My parents didn't care at all. I did look a lot older than 11 though. Ironically, nowadays, at 21, I look 14. Not that different from my 11-year-old self.
call me old-fashioned but i use my fingers to blend my foundation/ concealer/eye shadow. i never try any brushes to apply it on cos i find that its not necessary to use it.
I was decked tf out in makeup in 2008. Black eyeshadow on the daily, no eye brows, foundation too dark, smeared on stick concealer that sucked. It was a mess. Hahahha
From 2000 to 2010, I was too young for makeup. And I didn't even start wearing it until about 2013 when I was 14. So I can't say I relate with any of this, although it DOES bring back memories.
I didn't even know what foundation was until High School. No joke. My only makeup back then was brown pencil eyeliner, or gel liner, and gloss. Maybe mascara but that was it even until i graduated High School.
Thank you guys for bringing me joy during a time of extreme sadness. This video was the only thing that manages to lift my spirit, and brought back nice memoriesss.
I have been doing pretty much the same makeup since 1991. I've just graduated from tinted Clearasil to BB cream as my go to base. Once a month use of a foundation. Eyeliner sometimes, eye shadow even more rare. I simply can't be bothered to spend time on my makeup. If it takes longer than 5 minutes, it's a no go.
The thing I looooove with make-up is when it's just like our mom/grandmother: little mascara, a red lipstick hidden in your bra, a little powder with a circular sponge to be less shiny. I don't wear make-up , but that's how I wanna do it when i'll be old enough ! Feels so grown up and classy and elegant *-*
I used to wear neon pink lipgloss and put spray glitter in my hair. 9 year old me was killing it.

the buzzfeed women in this video probably weren't willing to go that far... few people can pull that off these days
Felicia mine never fully recovered...ugh
We don't talk about that here. XD
Don't remind me! I was a fashion outcast for refusing to pluck my naturally thick eyebrows (and thank goodness for that)! 😂
bhbrewster Same here, bullied relentlessly in high school for my bushy brows. Look who's laughing now!

Lindsey Dawn yeah! Makeup trends NOW are more monochromatic

Andrea Breckenridge I do too! I just do some kind of smokey-ish look and a lot of mascara, no falsies

In the past girls didn't have much makeup on the magazine covers but now there's so much to makeup
QUEEN HALO right tho it's overwhelming

Eyeliner is never necessary. I never wear make-up and look good, because all girls are lovely :P
I'm the opposite, haha, I usually tightline my eyes, then might consider adding mascara --> lipstick --> a light swipe of eyeshadow
That intro song definitely does not suit the 2000s genre.

I was decked tf out in makeup in 2008. Black eyeshadow on the daily, no eye brows, foundation too dark, smeared on stick concealer that sucked. It was a mess. Hahahha
The everyday, non-scene makeup was so much better than the average of what's popular today, so I don't know what there is to be embarrassed about.
It's much less harsh than the contouring and bold eyebrow shaping we have today.
Yes I don't know how anybody thinks dry matte brown lipstick looks good.
Infp Island i think that the bold eyebrow is beautiful tbh, but i can't understand people who do a bold brow everyday

Eyeliner sometimes, eye shadow even more rare. I simply can't be bothered to spend time on my makeup. If it takes longer than 5 minutes, it's a no go.
Bronzer, Bronzer, Bronzer, Pencil Eyeliner, Blush, Foundation and Bronzer, Bronzer, Bronzer top it off with a beige shiny lip gloss.
2:42 I I could think of was Lana Del Ray.
Ruby Moore
That's what I thought lol

And I'm off to the races, cases of Bacardi chasers, chasing me all over t-o-o-o-o-w-n.
Cause he knows I'm wasted,
Facin' time again on Rikers Island and I won't get out
Oooh, I love Devin in these videos :D
2000s were better than 2010s, better music, style, clothes...i am getting nostalgic
Diego Cruz I'm sorry did you say better clothes? Like ?????????
The thing I looooove with make-up is when it's just like our mom/grandmother: little mascara, a red lipstick hidden in your bra, a little powder with a circular sponge to be less shiny. I don't wear make-up , but that's how I wanna do it when i'll be old enough ! Feels so grown up and classy and elegant *-*
