These kind of infomercial products are actually mostly meant for disabled people, like this brush and the electric toothbrush would be awesome for people with tremors or fine motor skills problems or hand/wrist difficulties. The snuggie is a perfect wheelchair coat/blanket! The only reason they aren't marketed as such is because it's way harder to get a commercial starring a disabled person out there, especially a young disabled person. So they market them with the stereotypical clumsy lazy infomercial person, so the product will become more widespread.
That was immediately my thought too! Really wish they would actually get advertised to the people who need them rather than becoming joke material for able bodied people.
This is the most insightful comment I've read on this video. I had never even thought about that (clearly able-bodied here). It's too bad infomercials for these products don't at least feature disabled people alongside able-bodied people.
Yeah, representation matters not only for poc and LGTBQ people but for everyone. Sadly even though these are very popular with/designed with disabled people in mind, at the end of the day a company is a company and if they get less sales with disabled people in their commercials, because society can often be incredibly abelist, they're gonna use abled people to up the profits.
It's also because in the USA any product designed to address a disability or medical condition becomes classified as a medical device, which requires meeting a relatively higher standard of testing and certification with the FDA than your usual As Seen On TV fare.
So rather than deal with the added cost and paperwork, they advertise them as general purpose items that disabled people will see and think "you know, that could be really useful!"

Ash O 1. She wasn't holding the brush properly, just because it blends for you doesn't mean you have to hold it like it's also going to fight gravity on its own. & 2. She complained about it picking up too much product yet didn't think to tap off the excess.

for the foundation brush there is a very specific motion you are supposed to do while using it like going straight up and down then side to side. i think it is in the instructions but it's frustrating to see when products get a bad review when they are used incorrectly :/

The spinning motion just scrubs the product into your face, which I though was not great for your skin and the integrity of the makeup. A patting motion (like with a beauty blender) is way better (so I thought).
i thought the goal was to get it to sort of settle into your pores to look more natural, which is why it's recommended to deep clean or use makeup wipes n stuff after wearing makeup

I think they should have done their normal make-up but half their face they would do like they would every day before being introduced to the brush and then the other half could be with the brush and we could see a difference and they could share which looks better, has better converage, easier application, pros and cons, etc.

Kristen is the best tbh. She's honest, willing to learn, and I tend to listen to her more because she's my body type. (Plus size folks, unite!) and it's nice to see someone who looks like me doing stuff like this.
I imagine this blending brush would be really helpful for disabled people who don't have a lot of control or movement in their arms or wrists.
