We use cold cream as a primer for theater makeup all the time. It prevents it from getting in your pores and it's easier to remove afterwards!! You don't use a thick layer, just a thin one. Like you were using it for moisturizer.

As an Old Hollywood Historian, Audrey Hepburn and Marilyn Monroe never did those things... They certainly had their beauty routines, but they never did those specific things, in fact Marilyn would always stay away from hot water when it came to her face. And she would put vaseline all over her face, not an actual moisturizer.

YOU DON'T PUT THE BAR OF SOAP DIRECTLY ON YOUR SKIN! you're supposed to rub it on a damp or wet washrag and then put it on your body. when i lived in a house with no running water, i took 'birdbaths'; i'd get the washrag soaped up then clean my 'important bits' as my mam called it. we'd rinse with one pan of cold water. even with hot running water now, i''ll never forget bar soap. learning that you don't have to make your own soap, and that it came bottled, was mind blowing when i was older.

Not necessarily, though the shock of the treatment might do that. If you have really dry skin cold cream is a miracle, but for the others who don't washing the oily residue off will help. And then steaming and putting your face into hot water will help clean out the pores a bit. However, I always heard you had to steam your face and then rinse with cold water to close the pores once you were done.

Her answer was , being a stay at home mother on a farm to a man in the army, she lived as long as she did because she has never died her hair. Lol she would have been my age in the 50s lmao!! I suppose I just have sensitive skin, but anything too thick and creamy like that always makes me break out no matter how well I cleanse my face. I have to use lightweight products that are more water based and less oil based or it's breakout city for me.

i have dry sensitive skin and cold cream is a godsend! if i wash it all off and follow with moisturizer, i've never had a problem. with sensitive skin, water based is not as great because it can dry your skin out easily and cause patchiness and redness. that's why i love the cleanser and moisturizer from Pond's-my skin soaks it up and is softer than a baby's bum!

Honestly, I do a lot of this. I use coconut oil (not olive oil) to remove mascara. I love bar soap, especially during the summer, and I steam my face when I need a facial or have a cold. The only problem with steaming your face is that your hair becomes pretty frizzy, so it is best to put it in a shower cap or before a shower. Also, splashing your face with hot water and applying a toner right after makes it SOOOO soft.

Yes! I use pond's every night to remove my makeup and clean my face! Still the best way to remove makeup to this day in my opinion. Love it! The jergans all purpose face cream is good too, and the queen helene cleansing cream! Love all three cold creams!
