Good to hear you'll have her going hopefully before bad weather you got a great bunch of friends and brother glad everything is falling into place for you have a good one
@@johnp1966 good to be back lol 😆 This will end up being a 308 when its done. Things should finally be going together a lot faster now that I have all the right parts 😁
The 1985 and up Ford 302 in the Mustang came with thinner low tension piston rings. I’ve rebuilt four of those and none of the blocks had a ring ridge. Almost zero wear where the rings ride. Those are good blocks to start off cheap with. I believe Explorer 302 engines that came with the GT40 or GT40P heads use the same style rings. If you want a Ford engine to rebuild with minimal machine work needed then those are good options. Another big plus is that they are factory roller cam blocks so you can use the cheap and lighter weight roller lifters.
As soon as you get one of your pistons off the rod, weigh it and see how it compares to the marketplace piston for weight. Check the compression heights, old vs new. you might need to get a gram scale somewhere, maybe one of them harbor freight calipers too.
You might not be able to use nitrous with those Pistons the speed pros I think our hypoeutectic... Not forged I could be mistaken but I don't think I am .make sure you do your research
Nope they are not forged, but yep you can still spray nitrous on them lol 😆 Forged are stronger ya but that doesn't mean you can't spray nitrous or put boost on non forged pistons. Just make sure your ring gap is good, tune is good, and your using the right octane and you won't have problems 😉 At least not with 150hp-200hp shots, if you want to spray 500hp then that is a different story 😂
I’m surprised that you can afford a house on produce department wages. When I worked produce department the manager took home only about $275! Of course this was in the late eighties lol
Got it goin on now ,👍 👍

Looking good. The bubble insulation is pretty good for the price
Unless you’re 10 g or more off up or down, you don’t need to rebalance. I guarantee you have no idea how much aluminum shavings it takes to make 10 g.
