that guy is like lvl 50 im pretty sure the didnt just start the game fix the bridge recruit some mercs and beat the boss. some painful grinding happened before this.

I'm also pleasantly surprised how the game rewards you for doing classical fantasy stuff and punishes you for doing deconstructionist fantasy stuff. I can really only say that due to the infinite resource loops and farms you've found.
I actually think it's Alains Dad. His mom would have no way of knowing until it was too late and she was broken. Then he took over. The soul being gone comment made a lot of sense to me at the beginning from possessed Scarlett
The worst part of this ending is the starting characters going before Galerius to serve him, showing that the Zenoiran's have taken over everyone strong enough to stop them. They even got Josef.
I get Ganondorf vibes, they are both demonic warlords who love violence, war and bloodshed and ride demonic steeds. Although they have some differences like Ganondorf not having any noble motives, only selfish egotistical motives that only benefits him, violent psychopaths and the demons. Ganondorf’s desires and treatment of his followers and his demon tribe has more in common with Baltro's desires but he also desires to use his dark magic to make the world reflect the evil he embodies and is a manifestation of.
"History would speak of this day forevermore... The day all hope was cast to oblivion." Err... no. History is written by the winner. And if his conquest is truely, 100% complete, there will be but one, and only one, history future generations remember. And that is the history Galerius chose, and I highly doubt he will paint himself as the villain.
I hope they install new game plus in the future cause I already rescued Scarlett. I knew about this ending already but I didn’t want to grind just to get a bad ending on my first playthrough.

Having seen both endings, it makes me wonder if the lore necessary to get the standard ending is found in story (Gut says yes)

What happens if you marry someone to have the powered up rings but don't save Scarlett? Guessing you can't enter the sage sanctuaries to power them up or something right?
So how'd you manage to let scarett die? Leave for drachenhold early? Beat the game for the first time all proper like, and it seems like you have almost intentionally do the wrong thing.
