Very cool to see ‘sequence breaks’ in strategy RPG using ingenious knowledge of game mechanics. That being said, following this guide on a first playthrough comes at serious risk of missing out on a fair chunk of intended progression, ganeplay and the fun that comes with it.
True, but there are quite a lot of high level challenges you can do very early in the story throughout the game. Can always use a lower leveled team for normal gameplay.
It should be mention that with this method you can also unlock the Sigil Trial, Zenith lvl 38, completing it gives you 5x 10,000xp training tomes to cheese xp gain. You can use THE SAME method you used in this vid to cheese it! Over and Over again LOL
I had Alain, Ochlys(leader), Clive and Berenice(all of them level 17-20)... I took out the ALL the towers first, got loads of experience and then took out the enemy HO. I ended up having Alain who started at level 20 up to level 36... The others got into level 30s too. Depleted my revives, and attack and defense potions though.
This is an update to my previous comment reply. I was actually able to clear this Liberation Mission on True Zenoiran, but I will say right now that I do believe that my method is inconsistent, since the first time I tried it, I actually killed the Boss enemy. Here is a description of what I did. The team I used was the following, consisting primarily of lv 9-10 units: Generic Hunter, Chloe, Ochlys, and Berenice. The temporary decoy team was led by a lv 30 Josef that I power leveled using miracle fruits, primarily to bait the Gravity one of the Sorceresses casts at the beginning. Afterwards, I had Josef withdraw to give me +1 valor points while I used a Light Feather on Ochlys to replicate the Hastened Call effect, while never placing any steel traps, as I needed those item uses. Approaching the boss was the same as in the video, but here is where I found the problem. Even with 2 Valor points, the boss in True Zenoiran DOES kill both of the Mercenary teams, requiring additional damage. I then decided to buy the two Magic Bombs from the Black Market, but didn't have it unlocked. For the record, at least in my game I had 4 Liberation Missions, 7 side quests, 4 main quests, All Cornia Map Quests, and 16 overworld quests cleared when the Black market unlocked. I am not sure if anything aside from the Liberation and side missions matter, but wanted to be as thorough as possible here. Here is where it gets inconsistent. I repeated the process, then tossed the two Magic Bombs BEFORE summoning the Mercenary teams. In the first attempt, the second mercenary wiped out the boss before I could get to it. In the second one, the boss survived and Mercenary survived, giving me a chance. Unlike the video though, the surviving Unit was the Sorceress. I THINK that the Sorceress had about 30-40 HP left. No way she had more than 50. Given that Ochlys was my main unit and I didn't want to risk having to deal with an Eagle Eye sniper, or lose the chance entirely, I decided to fight her. Her Tactics/Gambits that mattered were Quick Cast, Ice Coffin set to "Row with Most Opponents" and Magic Missile set to "Row with 2 Opponents." Given at this moment I didn't have any items that could "survive 1 lethal hit" I knew after some team repositioning that at least two units were going to get KOed. So I put the generic hunter, and Chloe into the front, and Ochlys and Berenice in the back, to bait out a Magic Missile. However, the Sorceress went with Ice coffin still, even though there was technically no row with the most enemies, as they were both equal. Berenice counterattacked with Following Slash, then I had Ochlys hit with Shield Smite to get the defense debuff, and finally Berenice landed a critical hit Killing Chain to finish the battle. I am not sure if the crit mattered, as it did roughly 54 damage, but there is a chance it did. At the same time, the optimal play would have been to have her Heavy Slash, due to it being higher potency, but that was my mistake. In the end, even with 2 units KOed, Generic Hunter and Chloe grew to lv 22, Berenice to lv 27, and Ochlys to lv 33 (rookie egg, etc), and got roughly 12K gold due to having 2 golden eggs on the party. As I said, this is likely inconsistent, and was not 100% optimized, but it IS possible.
Actually I do feel that it is theoretically possible even in True Zenoiran, but with a few different steps. First of all, summon your gryphon unit and the decoy unit, but do NOT use the last valor point for the gryphon speed boost. Put up the 2 steel traps (2/5 item limit), then actually use a light feather(the speed boosting feather. 3/5 item limit), to replicate the speed boost from the valor skill. Then when you fly into the boss, use the last valor point to summon the mercenaries, and let them damage the boss. Then when its weak enough, use the Wind Faerie's Charm and the Liquid Fortune to move in for the kill (5/5 item limit) And given he said the steel traps were not necessary, you might even be able to end with 3/5 items used. Unless the units are strong enough to kill mercenaries too early in True Zenoiran.

I tried doing it and the boss killed the sellsword unit, they didn’t do enough damage to the boss, so I summoned another one and they killed the boss. I didn’t feel like retrying, but I was able to go get that end game spear, so at least that was worth it!
OMFG, my best units are 20 now but I'll absolutely be abusing this for PvP purposes. Your other one-shot video got me quite a few wins last night, but I had to swap out Josef since Paladins were excluded from teams and forgot to set Alain's tactics correctly to have the back row act again, so I dun goofed. Today though, it's fucking on! I would add that you can buy a second rookie egg pretty early into Drakenguard, so anyone jumping in from the demo's end should probably spend at least a little time pushing for that. To keep it evened out over the 3 units you likely wanted to level (not the sellsword, they're mid) you can throw Chloe's charm on the odd person out for at least 30% boost. In fact, why not use the hallowed ash x3 to pop out Alain for a Royal Order on your gryphon squad before they leave the home base? Since they're going to get the killing blow, they can travel over the towers with the buff in tow and absolutely gobble up that delicious exp!
@@GloriousGEO Just used this tactic all last night to power level at the training grounds right next to where the spear is.
