You’ve done well answering everyone, even the negative and ignorant comments. I’m not a fan of the new Defender but will watch your updates with interest. Don’t let the keyboard warriors get you down!!👍
Your best comment was regarding the storage in the back of the car being easy to accommodate golf clubs. I'm glad you like it and Land Rover have found some buyers for it.
DADventureTV I watched LR winning the design of the year for the defender and there will apparently be an entire family of them. I wonder if that means even more than a 130
Nathan Borne oh might you be referring to a pick up variant?? 🙂🤞 i’d heard that too, will be fun to see what variants they come up with. More choice can only be good.
Thanks for the question. No obvious flaws that I can see after the first 2 weeks. Door gaps look correct, panelling flows ok and ride is quiet. I will add updates every couple of months as I put some more miles on the car.
Congratulations. If you have already ordered then you probably have got what is right for you. Thing I enjoy most is just driving the car. It is just a great car. My favourite gadget is the 360 camera which I believe is standard. For me the climate pack was a must. Today it is -10C. Enjoy and check out my other videos.
I have a P400 on order with a delivery window in September. Thoughts on the engine? We got the 400 over the 300 because we wanted passing power on the highway. Any other thoughts so far?
For me the acceleration is very good. I have not driven it much on the freeway, motorway yet as not travelling much long distance due to Covid. I’ll capture some step down acceleration and use of the sport mode in next video to hopefully demonstrate; and I think you have made a wise choice.
It was the list price plus US sales tax. No scope for reductions. My assessment is that it is a fair price. I have seen a couple of resales with modifications for higher prices but I am keeping mine.
@@LDB5337 Its an updated LR4 but at least they should have kept the front face of the LR4 as its way better looking. I'm waiting for the Grenadier looks much more promising and German engineered and will be waaaay cheaper and better off-road with massive body on frame, tractor front and rear solid axles and massive truck coil suspension.
Simple view is yes, as reliable as most cars if serviced, maintained. Main issues I have had in the past range from brakes to battery drain. Last few Landrovers I have had have been reliable. Defender at about 2 months in is running well, feeling pretty solid.
The new defender is more of a mk 5 Discovery than something that follows on in the Defenders market segment. Only the Toyota 76 and the G wagon professional left
Can you show us the dealership where this will spend most of its time in? I'll love to see their premium mechanic garage you paid for lol. I want one but not dumb enough to get one.
If you have a chance then take one for a test drive. You may be convinced yet. These cars have an X factor. This is our 10th Land Rover over the past 20 plus years. Each has its own character, each has it faults. I’ll post updates on the good and the bad. Thanks for taking time out to leave a comment.
Durability???!!!How would you even know that??!!How long have you owned this for?? How long has it even been for sale?? I do like the looks though. British engineering at its finest. Not good, but good enough.
Thanks for the comment. I bought one of the first ones in North America. I have owned it now for almost 6 months. Durable to date but couple of gadget annoyances. Please check out my other videos.
Thanks for taking time to leave a comment. I would though disagree. Please take a test drive, if you haven’t already. This car is just different. It has so many subtle design considerations which define that difference. A good difference. A difference you come to realise as you own and drive it. I’ll expand on those differences in my next video set. Thanks again.
I agree with you Alfred. The past simply couldn’t exist on this modern world. I’ve tested this car and it’s incredibly capable while VERY good looking and full of technology. If you want the same old car, then get 2016 and tell how it feels after a 2 hour drive.
Still think it looks like a LEGO build, tailgate like a Vauxhall Frontera !. Sorry do not like it ! And the box fitted to offside rear like a kids lunch box for school run .
Hungry Boy Give it a rest, eh....you’re the only one who says that and it’s generally getting great reviews. I suggest you give it a year before making your mind up.
Thanks for comment. Right now the vehicle after 2+ weeks of ownership feels pretty durable I will be doing monthly updates on how the vehicle has performed to see if it meets that character.
Thanks for the comment. Not saying it is equivalent to a fine wine, but my appreciation of the car continues to grow and I think the general view of the car will improve over time. Give it time.
What a load of crap! It will not last a day in the outback. It will break and there will be no Landrover engineer to be seen as far as the eye can see. It will be another SUV for soccer mothers. What a waste! This SUV will not be able to keep up with my real 2010 Landrover Defender Series 110 that I use everyday. I will keep my real Defender instead. Thank you very much.
Thanks for taking time to leave a comment. My take is that the new 2020 Defender is designed as much (if not more) for the road as designed for off road. Land Rover have done well to evolve the car, but it is not the same as the old Defender. My point being whatever they did next was never going to be the same. Glad you like, rely and trust in your 2010. I like and now rely and trust in my 2020. Time will tell if the 2020 can partway fill the shoes, or others like the Grenadier will take the niche left behind. Thanks again.

Thanks for the supportive note
Radness... I love the new defender. Congratulations 🤙
Thank you
Looks fantastic. Enjoy!
very nice alfred. Can you comment on that wheel package? are those the 20's? Do you know which tire? Working on a build. Thanks
Mine are the 20” Style 5098, Satin Dark Grey Wheels with all season tyres.
Your best comment was regarding the storage in the back of the car being easy to accommodate golf clubs. I'm glad you like it and Land Rover have found some buyers for it.
Cool. Congrats. 130 coming next year. That’s the one on my radar.
Thanks

Wait mister!!! The real boss is coming out ineosgrenadier.com/
Assembled in Slovakia I believe. Hows the finishing found any flaws at all?
Thanks for the question. No obvious flaws that I can see after the first 2 weeks. Door gaps look correct, panelling flows ok and ride is quiet. I will add updates every couple of months as I put some more miles on the car.
Why do you assume that just because its made in Slovakia that it has flaws? Maybe if it was made in UK it would be worse.
@@Yogi5D so why are you assuming they are assuming?

hope you give a long term review maybe about half or a year of ownership about how it pans out and its reliability
Just putting together an update review now. Will post in about 7 days. Thanks for the comment.
Just posted my follow up review
@@LDB5337 just watched the review thanks a lot mate

Alfred Cole Thank you!! Congrats again
Samuel Crisostomo lol
In Switzerland its Fr. 90K!! Are they mental? Looks like a 30k car.
Thanks for checking out the video. There are lower cost options, but to be honest the car could command a higher price for what it delivers.

biggest question, are land rovers reliable?

@@LDB5337 thanks for sharing.
Subscribed to get real owner’s review of quality. Thanks.
YOU LIKE IT THAT'S AL THAT COUNTS. NOW WHY THE OLDER ONES COST MORE THAN THE NEWER ONES????
The older ones are now more like classic cars, and becoming rarer; especially in the US. I am hopeful that the new one will hold value well.
Great review - beautiful car. Shame the steering wheel got put on the wrong side !!
there r so many videos that show defender and land rovers break a lot... its so much unreliable brand. did you face any issue so far.
Beauty, very distinctive like the Mercedes g wagon
I love how he didn't say reliability at the start
The new defender is more of a mk 5 Discovery than something that follows on in the Defenders market segment. Only the Toyota 76 and the G wagon professional left
I swapped a Range Rover Sport into this, and couldn’t be more pleased. For me it is apart from the Discovery, though no doubt that is also a good car.

Land Rover had one chance to get it right, they missed it. Now it’s just like any other suv.
