Here's my new Land Rover Defender. A truck that truly took me by surprise. As I was waiting for it to get delivered, I was really contemplating on wether or not I was going to keep it. After taking delivery, I quickly fell in love with everything about it. I think it is the most durable, capable, good looking, and quality build truck for it's price right now on the market.
While it is not the most luxurious truck or SUV, it is certainly the most capable daily driver especially when you live in monsoon county a.k.a South Florida. It's quick, it's technologically advanced, it's good looking if spec'd right, and it can go through anything.

You know Land Rover have absolutely nailed it when a guy with a Rolls Royce and G Wagon has such high praise for the Defender.
They really haven’t, he’s not the target consumer, he is the target consumer of the Range Rover.
For the last 70 years the Land Rover has been a cheap workhorse for farmers, tradesmen and overlanders etc.
With Land/Range Rover aiming all of their vehicles at one group I don’t see them lasting much longer especially with growing competition in the SUV market.
@@Aron-ru5zk A Range Rover is aimed at chauffeur driven company CEOs..... a Defender is aimed at exactly this kind of guy, especially a 100k high specification Defender like this one.

@@Aron-ru5zk That's why nobody was buying the old one near the end of it's life. They probably sold a few thousand each year. Whereas the new Defender will sell hundreds of thousands a year.
The defender 90 and 110 was a work horse in the British army range rovers cater for footballers if there new drug dealers if there old this new defender is kinda expensive so maybe some rich farmers and celebs wanting to be drove about and yes the range too anyway land-rover do make good vehicles ive had a few driven more but I'm loving my blacked out deranged jeep wrangler here in the uk right now and I cant see that changing anytime soon

Grew up in the LR Discovery so the Defender certainly has strong appeal for me.

There’s a “JLR Off-Road pack 3”. They don’t advertise it, but asked me when I placed my order for mine. It raises it 2”. They do the work once it hits port in the US. They told me it was an additional $9k but it doesn’t void any bit of JLR warranty.

Driving in Florida rain - so true. Y’all have no idea what “rain” really is. My old neighborhood would flood unbelievably.
I live in Louisiana and bought one for that reason. When it floods I lift it up and it drives incredibly good in the rain.
Please don’t keep calling it a Range Rover :/ Range Rover is a product of the JLR lineup, and not the name of the production company or the vehicle you are driving 😊

Land Rover have got this right all the car you need
The Emergency Lane Keep Assist almost killed me yesterday, land rover won't let me keep it off. Makes me disable it every time I turn on the car which takes 90 seconds. Then when the infotainment crashes (which it does frequently) it turns back on again. Won't let me disable it while driving. Not safe. Not happy.

It is sexy for sure. My LR4 is paid for and my overlanding rig. I can't beat up a six figure vehicle.
At first I liked them, yet the more I see it (and experience it as a friend owns one) I feel they are for high school and college girls. This will replace the 4Runner as the official car of Sorority Row.

I just rented one of these on TURO. The effin' thing turned off on me out of the blue! LOL. No it was not the automatic start/stop to save gas. This thing turned off and locked up! I'll have it for the next two days. We'll see how it goes.
Luis any other problems with that rental you had. My new Range Rover is a mess. Camera always turning off. Screen sucks. Just to many problems. Looked at the defender today. Worried it’s going to be the same. Thanks in advance for any reply.
@@theway3058 Luckily, that’s the only problem I had during my rental period. The truck was beautiful. My wife did complain that the seat was too hard, but I didn’t think my driver’s side seat was hard at all. I did feel the controls were over complicated and non-intuitive, but that could be because it was the first land rover I had ever driven. Overall, I really liked the truck. I can’t say anything about long term reliability.
My neighbor has it in white and as pretty as the matte bronze looks, the white looks better.

You keep referring to the Land Rover Defender as a Range Rover. It is a utilitarian V6 but it is still the New Defender.
I think he knows that, but the average person knows them as range rover period. Not land rover so it brings more eyes to the video etc and I'm a way the average person understands

This is how far off Land Rover was by redesigning the LR4 and selling it as a defender. They are not just poaching Discovery and Discover Sport sales they are getting Range Rover and RR Sport customers too! Land Rover will eat itself from the inside out.

Good, enthusiastic review, but... please stop referring to this Defender as a „Range Rover”, it’s just plain ignorant. The company is called LAND ROVER - Range Rover, Defender and Discovery are different model lines. A Defender is NOT a Range Rover.

They ruined the Disco 4 with the Disco 5 so this is their redemption.
Defender is Dead. Glad I bought one before end of production.
This is effectively a Disco 4 MkII (with 85 ecu units) and not a Defender.
So, the "Defender" name should not be on this car.
