    I currently own Land Rover lr3 and a Wrangler LJ. Overall I would say that the air suspension is a problem, one thing they never mention is the ride quality gets very rigid when the airbags are fully extended, I had to replace multiple components eventually went with a spring replacement kit. Aside from that the vehicle is actually very reliable at this point and has tremendous capabilities built in including downhill descent multiple traction modes the ride quality on and off-road is superb. I know we're talking about a new defender here but I think Land Rover gets a bad rap in a lot of cases.
    My LJ is modified with a locker in the rear 33 inch tires some rock sliders winch bumper tire carrier and a small lift kit. Very capable off-road but feels like you're driving a buggy after being in the Land Rover for a while.

    • @mpeugeot
      @mpeugeot 3 года назад +2

      @@gs98999 I can afford a lot of upgrades for $50k, even if it is still a Ford. Here's my point, I know from a luxury (and even status perspective) that the Rover should be nicer than the Ford, but even stock, I find it hard to believe that the stock Rover is $40k nicer than the stock Bronco Wildtrak will be.
      The stock Rover might drive nicer on the road than the Wildtrak (which is why I didn't order the Wildtrak), but they are as you note, not exactly aimed at the same segment in a stock configuration. However, I think I can make a better comparison.
      The Bronco Outer Banks 2.7 with the advanced 4x4, 4.27 limited slip rear diff, and lux package may be a better (more fair) comparison to the stock Land Rover Defender P400e. This is without the sasquatch package.
      Some pros for the Rover is that it should have a nicer interior (especially in leather vs leather), soft close doors, better adjustable seats, marginally better clearance, and a more powerful engine than the Bronco.
      Some cons for the Rover is that it's heavier, has less headroom, has less legroom in the front seats, only an 8 speed transmission compared to the 10 speed in the Bronco, fewer roof options, less modularity, the approach and departure angles off-road are not nearly as good as the Bronco, while there is an available locking rear differential will cost more than the Bronco, it has a smaller 10" infotainment screen vs the 12" in the Bronco, and finally, it seems likely that it will even be slower than the 2.7 Ecoboost Bronco due to the weight.
      So maybe I am missing something, but I don't see $40-50k of added value in the Rover.
