This camera is definitely better than the A7IV. I did a lot of research last year vs the original R6 and it was close. But then the R6 II came out and it was a no brainer. Nobody has time for cropped 4K of the A7IV/S5II in 2023. Also, the A7IV is a much slower photo camera (only around 6 fps in lossless mode). The resolution difference is insignificant for photos since a even in large prints 33 MP and 24 MP will look the same. But in a pinch if you want you can use Adobe's built in enhance super resolution and easily get 24 MP to look like 45 MP (in my tests look better than native R5 files).
Such a great camera! And I use all adapted Sigma Art and EF L lenses and AF never misses.
I don't think All - I vs IPB matters at all. When I had the R I did extensive comparisons between All-I and IPB and there was 0 difference, even when zoomed in to 400%. The R6 II's IPB is actually higher bitrate I think than the R as well so it's basically just marketing at this point. In fact I shoot exclusively in IPB Light.
I also saw your video comparing the a7sIII and the R6II in low light and was really impressed with the R6 II in low light as I often picked its image quality over the A7SIII.
I kind of with Canon had kept Clog1 in the R6II. I have NO idea why they took it out as the original R6 had both. Clog1 would be a great option for low light I think. Though some people say just shoot in a regular profile in low light because dynamic range isn't an issue.
I was the opposite. I took the cropped 4k because all of the video features plus the better dynamic range. The S5ii is more reliable also. I would have took the R6ii over the A7iv though. #LumixGang
Your clients must be blissed out over that footage-good work.
Thanks so much! They said they really liked it :)
I have the R6mii and I gotta say I agree with all your points except clog 3 as I haven't used it that as much but the camera is FANTASTIC. I did a test shooting 4k 60 and overheated in 33 minutes while the other 4k modes, 24 and 30 not even a single bar or warning of overheating and the battery is fantastic as well. I have and never go past 2 on a whole days worth of shoot. I have the rf35, such an amazing AMAZING lens. Do you experience slow focusing while in video mode? Because I tend to get that here and there which can be annoying. Amazing video and review!
Thanks so much man! The camera is so good! I'm glad you love the camera! The overheating and battery life are 2 huge factors to why this camera is so good, if it overheated and had bad battery life, it wouldn't be no where near as good. The RF 35 mm is amazing, I love it and yes the focus for video is annoying, it's because it's a macro lens, once it goes into macro mode it takes a long time to get out of it, it's also very loud as well haha. Thanks a lot man appreciate it!
C-Log 3 is best exposed at 1 +2/3rds of a stop. Never shoot C-Log 3 as 0 on your exposure meter.
nice what gimbal use ?
Quality footage matey
Thanks!
I have two of these. Question, what do I have to click so that my camera can record everything around it without focusing on people coming near it but rather have focus all around?
Yes a higher aperture will have more people in focus , I would also change your focus setting to the all around option , I think it's the last one on the right
Hi Samuel
How do you activate 4k 60p ProsRes Raw HQ from this camera to Ninja V ( not Ninja V +)? I could only turn the 4K 23.98p and when chose 4K 60p the Ninja V shows no input. I hope you haven't had this issue while using the combination.
I'm not sure, thanks for commenting but I've never used it and I don't know how it works sorry!
Very useful, thank you.
Your welcome! Glad the video helped! :) will you be buying one? What's your camera at the moment?
@@samuelmaynard84 I was lucky to buy the R6 II a few weeks ago on the black friday together with the RF 15-35. My fiance is making cooking videos and I edit them. Now I'm starting to learn how to shoot videos.
Very nice video!
Thanks so much i'm so glad you liked it! Will you be buying one?
@@samuelmaynard84 Unfortunately not, but i have a Canon EOS RP that i upgraded to about 3 months ago and im loving it, one of my friends also has an R5 and its really good, the r6 looks like a great camera too.
Do you think the r6 Mark 2I is suitable for run-and-gun documentary work?
Yeah I really do! I think you can get a tascam XLR accessory to get XLR audio, or you can get an XLR-3.5mm jack to get the quality audio. I think the image is wonderful, I don't think it will be the best forever though, no Clog 2 or internal NDs , screw on filters are fine if you don't get colour shift ones but Clog 2 is unbelievable and would be a huge step up!
@@samuelmaynard84 do you think the fx3 is more suitable?
Over the R6 MKII, Probably yes tbh, even though it's hard to say🤣 I love Canon. However if you're going to spend the money for an FX3 then I'd throw in the C70. That's a wonderful cinema camera. I prefer Canon so I would recommend that because I use it at my day job. If you can afford it, image a C70 paired with the 24-105 F/2.8🤯 Now that sounds like a killer doc combo! But The R6 II can defo still do a great job, you can find it for £1800 now! £600 less than what I brought it for!
Bro you've been asking this question for about a year...You haven't made a decision yet?😂😂😂
@@Bigcookfilms 😂
damn that noise performance i awhful kinda lookes worse then my c200 using raw lol
It does look bad, I think I made it worse by colour correcting and grading after I applied the LUT. It seems to be a lot better for me now but now amazing still
it doesn't hold a candle to a sony...
