This video brought memories back. Was down there in 2017 and Gatlinburg was just as busy. Like Hell let out for recess. I'm glad you guys had a great time. Thanks for sharing. Ride safe.
Gatlinburg is my favorite place PRECISELY because it's a tourist trap. It's like every cheesy roadside attraction stretched out in every direction as far as the eye can see. If you embrace it for what it is, you will have a ball there.
Yea, I've been to Gatlinburg and been stuck in that traffic, but I was in my SUV. The Great Smoky Mountains and it is beautiful there and can't wait to ride it. Thanks for posting. Be well.
I got married in that little town in 1988. But you are right the traffic is terrible and we try to avoid it now. You guys look like you had a lot of fun and riding. Thanks for sharing with us.
Thanks Colin for taking us all on vacation with you guys. It's so good I almost don't need to take off work for my own vacation!! LOL .... In all seriousness, watching the videos from all three of ya has brought back memories of the riding my wife and I rode in and around the areas y'all are riding. Thank you for that!!
When I rode through there, I went the other direction, starting from Maggie Valley (Country Vittles restaurant there has great breakfast and dinner all-you-can-eat deals), rode across the park, stopped at Clingman's Dome, saw at least a quarter-mile backup heading in as I was leaving, laughed like hell when I came to the loop in the road, funniest directional arrow ever (hoped it would be in this video). Rode up 321 to Hot Springs, then down NC209 (which did not have the "Rattler" sign on it at the time), fantastic ride, new pavement first few miles, almost no traffic. Next day at Wheels Through Time I picked up a flier from a counter, it had directions for what they called "The Hot Springs Loop", exact route I'd taken.
I remember seeing that arrow. That made me laugh too. There were a ton of people up top even with the heavy clouds. I had to avoid all the people walking. Maggie Valley has some great restaurants. We ate a bbq place couple years back and it was super tasty.
....think I've said it in all your videos of this outing!...saying it again...beauty roads and area you guys hit up!!...thanks for the ride along....stay safe...ride safe!!😎👍🤙👍🤙🇨🇦
Great ride!! I’ve been on that road to Knoxville in the past and always wanted to come back on a motorcycle. Lovely area and fantastic roads. I’m getting the fever to make the two wheel ride right now. Nice!!! 👍
Yup. Gatlinburg sucks. There's no two ways about it. My wife and I hate going there, but we DO love our motorcycle routes here in northeastern Tennessee. I've been in 49 states and I firmly believe that northeastern Tennessee, N. Carolina, Virginia, and Kentucky have the best riding in the entire country. Thanks so much for sharing this ride, too!! Riding in the GSM is phenomenal!!
@@Broncoride I lived in Maine for 25 years. Yes, indeed, the riding there in New England is also gorgeous!! Especially the coast of Maine in the fall when the leaves are changing colors!! Breath-taking!! Ride safe and ride well!!
Hey have you noticed that Gatlinburg and Branson MO are almost exactly alike. Even the traffic...The same attractions, even the same upside down house. Too bad the for errr clouds rolled in. If you all had Wings you could have flew above the clouds lol. All in all looks like a great trip. Hope we can catch you all Sunday, bu we are on our BikeCation and always seems to be riding on Sundays.
That whole area around Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge is traffic hell, I scoped out local routes to stay off the mains when we went up there to visit the Distillery and Wax Museum. The Rattler was disappointing, but the upper section heading into Hot Spring blew my mind💪
That makes me feel better that we didn’t miss out. Dude, you don’t see it on camera, but the whole area had tornado like clouds. We turned the opposite way.
Great video! We actually stayed in Maggie Valley for the first on our recent trip down there. It was actually a fun place to stay. Didn't feel extremely crowded but there were a ton of motorcycles everywhere. Pretty cool getting to talk with all the other motorcyclists. Will definitely stay there again.
That stretch of 40 y’all were on is known as The Gorge. I’ve driven truck thru it more times than I can count, but it is a very scenic highway. Clingman’s Dome is the 2nd highest peak east of the Mississippi, just a few feet shorter than Mt. Mitchell in NC. Shame you had such bad weather up there.
It really wasn’t bad. Little drizzle but couldn’t see anything. I’ve been there before when the views were amazing. We dealt with scattered thunderstorms that day, but overall, the weather was great.
I try and stay away from that area to many tourists and I live about 60 miles from there but I ride the rest of the mountains and the rattler is a great ride and a couple good places to eat in hot springs
Have you guys ever been to Wheels Through Time Museum in Maggie Valley North Carolina? Very cool place you should go check out while you're down there.
We talked about in video. We passed it, but didn’t stop in. Yes, I’ve been there and it’s an amazing place. Definitely can get lost. Wish we had more time that day.
Someone found out about Gatlinburg and Gatlinburg traffic.😂😂😂 If you miss the bypass in a cage you’re screwed. Nice ride across the mountain though, Maggie Valley is laid back place, and Cherokee is well Cherokee. Just watch out for the elk, bear, and tourists.
There was no visible wreckage because the bike slid over the hill. Don’t laugh, I’ve seen several skid marks with scrapes, and no bike present (over the hill) on the BRPKY.
looks like a really good day.love the mountains!!
Wheels through time is a must if ever in that area. I could spend the whole day in there.
Great museum. I spent five hours in there when I went a couple years back.
This video brought memories back. Was down there in 2017 and Gatlinburg was just as busy. Like Hell let out for recess. I'm glad you guys had a great time. Thanks for sharing. Ride safe.
We got of of Gatlinburg quick. Screw dealing with all that traffic. The bypass worked great. Nice town, but way too many tourists.
Gatlinburg is my favorite place PRECISELY because it's a tourist trap. It's like every cheesy roadside attraction stretched out in every direction as far as the eye can see. If you embrace it for what it is, you will have a ball there.
Very cool. It is a fun place to visit. Traffic, not so much.
Yea, I've been to Gatlinburg and been stuck in that traffic, but I was in my SUV. The Great Smoky Mountains and it is beautiful there and can't wait to ride it. Thanks for posting. Be well.
You’ll love it. So many roads, never enough time.
@@Broncoride that is true. I try to make my stays, not including travel time, 7 days now.
Thanks for the ride along and video 👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸
You’re welcome Jim.

I bet they had a lot less traffic back then. Still a nice area, but not made for riders. 😎
Thanks Colin for taking us all on vacation with you guys. It's so good I almost don't need to take off work for my own vacation!! LOL .... Thanks for the compliment. It was cool seeing the different vantage points from our trip. Hope to do a trip like this again next year.

I’m glad you enjoyed the series. I needed another week out in this area.
great video! nice to be on a trip with your buddys.
Great guys to hang with and a sweet area to ride. Can’t ask for much more.

That highway for like 30 miles was fantastic. Wish I had those types of views by me.
My dream ! And it may be coming true soon ! 😎✌️
Awesome
Loved the video, wish it was a bit longer. More please...
Haha, glad you enjoyed it my friend.

Have to agree with the riding in those areas. The areas by upstate NY, VT, and NH are incredible too. One day, I want to ride the Rockies.

Great job on these cycle videos! I just subscribed!! Thank you for the great content!!!
Appreciate that Chris. I’m actually moving out to Tennessee
I feel the same way about those tourist traps. Planning a trip this late September. Always looking for ideas for places to visit.
Loved the whole area for riding, just not that one area. Crazy traffic

We aren’t on this Sunday, but next. True words about the two cities.

@@Broncoride Not the day to see The Great Oz ...right 🤣😂
Great ride brother. The Spyder has Hill Assist as well. I'm sure it really helped you. Get my bike on Friday. I'm so excited brother.
Saw a picture of your bike. Amazing and congratulations.
I've been to a lot of the places you were at in this video, except it was in a car. Can't wait to do it on a bike. That's my dream!
You need to make that dream a reality. Really perfect on a motorcycle.
Awesome video as always, I have been on those roads before and seeing this makes me want to go again
Time to do it again my friend. I want to do this area annually.
Enjoyed thanks for sharing 👍
Thanks as always Larry.
Great video and such an amazing ride and time. I am so glad I was not paying attention when you were checking Jack for hemorrhoids 😂😂
See, I look out for my friends. 😎

I really enjoyed doing the museum and seeing the Traub motorcycle. Some good eats in that area too.
Yep why I stay over in Cherokee NC week well not be enough so many good routes .
You can go so many different ways out there and find a great road.

Love the Rattler.
I'm happy for you guys! Great rides and company, what could be better?
Can’t think of too many things that are better Bob. This is what it’s all about.
Clingmans Dome in a cloud. I enjoy interstate 40 in that area. I had both lanes last time may have gone a little fast
Loved 40. What an amazing area.
Love that area !! Better the further away you get from touristville.
We were in tourist hell, but made it out just fine.
Man, I see a ton of my subs riding the Smokey Mountains. You guys are making me jealous.
Not nearly as high as the Canadian Rockies, but still incredible riding.

Yeah....I commented while watching the video before that part! 😆 my bad!
No worries man. Hope I didn’t come across wrong way.
Well, it was Gatlinburg in mid-July, and I'd just hit town and my throat was dry...
It was super hot that day. We drank a ton of water. The ride up to Clingmans Dome was nice because it cooled down so much.

Traffic sucked there but an awesome area. Can’t wait to ride it again soon.
You were in my neck of the woods. I did a vid of Gatlinburg pigeon forge at the start of the plandemic
You’re lucky to live there my friend. So many great roads.
😎👍🎥🏍👍
Cool.

We would never laugh about that. Sorry you interpreted it that way. We hoped everyone was ok.
Wouldn't want to ride in that fog cloud
Don't ride a motorcycle through Gatlinburg. You could burn the engine out being stuck there.
Isn’t that the truth. Just insane the amount of people there.
Hillbilly golf? Good grief only in America folks!
Oh, you have no idea. We have some crazy attractions for sure. That whole area has many carnival-like attractions.
Boo we need wives!!
We are better without the wives. Hope they don’t read this comment.
