The Rock has gotten even bigger physically, still making movies. John Cena was super successful woth Peacemaker. I think its just more about if their acting is on point at the end of the day.

    Nah weird. A multi billion dollar company with a multi billion dollar owner needs a black man to write scripts for his company. I'm black, I mean you just basically need a creative person because wrestlers can't write jokes or come up with creative content...

      😂😂😂😂😂 outside of the Guardians of the Galaxy, he’s not a draw at all. He’s not a movie star. He’s a supporting actor who was fortunate enough to be cast in a successful comic book movie. Marvel movies are shit and they make money in spite of themselves. When he did feature as the star of a movie, Knock at the Cabin did $54 million at the box office.

    • @navbuoy
      @navbuoy 3 месяца назад +5

      @@Redhotshawntexas Knock at the Cabin made over double its cost so it made a profit. Horror films are known for their modest returns. Bautista is doing something most other wrestlers turned actors haven't - he's honing his craft and taking it seriously (had a great cameo in Blade Runner). He will continue to go far with that attitude if not as a leading man (as you say) at least as a strong character actor.

      Bastista's new movie only made 3 million dollars opening weekend. I like Batista he's a good guy but he is no where near the level of star as The Rock.

    • @Redhotshawntexas
      @Redhotshawntexas 3 месяца назад +2

      @@navbuoy double the budget isn’t a success. After marketing a film doesn’t even break even and begin to be considered successful until it surpasses triple the cost, but nice try.

    • @navbuoy
      @navbuoy 3 месяца назад

      @@Redhotshawntexas Triple the cost for a profit? Where did you pull this fact from? Double is the general rule of thumb well known in the industry for decades to break even 'anything beyond that' is a profit. Marketing and promo touring is what it mostly comprises. 20 million to a box office of nearly 55 million is almost triple anyhow. It turned a profit - albeit a modest one - not bad for a horror film. After some nifty Hollywood Accounting, it might eak out a bit more. If you ever look at the very end of the credits you will see numerous county, provincial, state badges...those are rebates and that doesn't get included in the total gross cost so 20 million is more like 18-15 after those rebates and discounts. Studios love hiring Canadian actors just for this reason alone. So triple, sorry I am not buying it. Like I stated before, he might not have a career as a leading man but he is a strong character actor taking it seriously with a good attitude.
