You RULE! I love Carrrey AND Kinnison. Wow. Kinison, especially. So original. We lost too many funny men far too soon.

He had 25 minutes of early material in the context of that character he created that was about the best it’s ever been done.

The “never tell the truth” bit
The “tour guide in hell” bit
The “if Jesus had been married” bit
      Pretty snazzy.

I loathed Jim Carrey when he came out. Everything he did was horrendous to me. Fast fwd 20 years, and he gives a graduation speech at some college that was beautiful. Ever since then, I adore him.
Don’t get me started with Kinison. I have my reasons about his death that simply wasn’t fair. He is a
    Comedy God.

I like both of theese guys but....comparing Sam's comedy to Miles Davis or Charlie Parker is an absurd ass kissy way to explain it. It's a weird way of praising him. I like their comedy but theridiculous ass kissing is silly

I think you're missing the point. Kinison's comedy was original and hadn't been done before... much like Bird and Myles. I think it was an honest assessment by a guy who lived it.

2:56 This is the exact point that Jim is making.. Sam created an extreme persona that was very difficult to continue long term.
If you notice, today Carey himself is *MILES* away from the totally unhinged characters he played in the 1990s.. he went from an over-the-top court jester to deep thinking philosopher

@@Krmyas I happen to agree, it's funny for awhile, then it just gets old when it's too over the top, much like Robin Williams.
