I am new to photografy and just got a Nikon D3200 with a 18-105 Lense to start somewhere. I took now something like 2-3 hours to follow every step in this video with my own camera in hands and it is amazing how much i've learned of basic stuff in this short time...
So, first I wanted to thank Tony and his team for this great and interesting video and second I would like to suggest to all the begginers out there: Take the time and follow every single tip that you will see here (pause and rewatch it until you really understood it) and you will improve just right away :)
And now... I need to order some of the suggested stuff ^^

In short you guys are awesome!

Excellent video, clear and concise, and it never spent the first 10 minutes showing me how to open a box....and unlike many other videos on RUclips, Tony doesn't SHOUT. I've had this video open on my navigation bar all week and am constantly referring to it.

This was an outstanding tutorial on the d3300, which I just bought today. I realize I am going to have to go through it again, holding my camera, and doing exactly what Tony Northrup is explaining. The first time through, just watching the video, was a great overview. Thanks to this video, I just saved myself hours of frustration, and may even get a decent picture or two.

Great video, even at 8 years old. I just bought a used D3300 for hiking use and had already saved this video to watch when the camera arrived. I have used many more advanced Nikon DSLR so I'm familiar with reading the manual and working through the menu settings but I thought it would get me a quick kick start into the camera by watching your video.

Thank you so much for this tutorial. I have been chronically ill for quite a long time and been unable to have a creative outlet, I recently decided to get into photography... being disabled, I didn't have a ton of money to buy an expensive camera to start, I bought the D3300 and have been looking for a good tutorial for a while now, this was way beyond my expectations. I wish I had found your channel before buying a lens, tripod and filters.. I've learned so much in just a few of your videos. Thank you so much for helping me improve my photography skills and understand my camera so much more. Subscribed for future purchasing and tips! Thanks again.

I've just purchased the D3200 and 2 kit lenses for a fantastic price. After much research see a huge difference between it and the D3300, so I went for it.
I have watched dozens of videos trying to figure out how to change shutter and aperture in manual mode. One would think this would be pretty standard fare. But it wasn't. And the owner's manual wasn't a great deal of help either.Your video explained everything I need to know to get going.
Having been a student of photography back in the 70's and 80's I understand a lot about shutter speed, aperture and ISO (a.k.a. ASA) and how they all relate to the final image. I went into this not wanting to get stuck depending on the auto mode, so I will shoot in manual - or one of the priority modes for most of the time. If I easy, I'll use a point and shoot or my cellphone camera.
And shooting RAW is an absolute must for me. I purchased Adobe Lightroom 6 and am in the process of learning that as well. Developed my first NEF in LR6 only 2 hours after taking my first shot on the D3200. Results are extremely encouraging. By the way, will you be doing a book on LR6?
Thank you again for a great instructional video, and consider me subscribed. I am looking forward to becoming passionate about photography again.
    Brilliant video.
    Cheers mate !

Hello Tony. Thanks for the awesome video and the hard work put into it, I think you've covered pretty much everything about the camera. I believe that you haven't mentioned the way to adjust the ISO in manual mode, so I thought I just add that info, which I think is important. If you press (and hold) the Fn button on the left side of the camera, you can adjust the ISO on the fly by rotating the main dial button. I find this very useful sometimes. Regards.

+Tony Northrup I have a problem, I forgot how to make water smoke like, when I make a slow shutter speed the aperture adjusts but when I take a shot, it is full white because too much light gets to the sensor, so how to create those water or lights blur photos? Also what do you think of using Dynamic Area as focusing to be sure if something in the photo moves or is moving?

I really enjoyed this video and I'm looking for leads to reading your book and playing with my new toy, the d3300. I'll be referencing this video all the time and I love that you have a table of contents to skip right to the part I'll need. Thank you!
