I am having so much fun playing with this! I am currently doing owls and sand pipers. I have enjoyed your tutorials so much over the past year and want to thank you for sharing and for your easy anybody can do this approach. You really connect with your viewers. I wish you and your family happy holidays and a grand and healthy new year!
I’m a newer subscriber. So working my way through all of your beautiful videos and just came upon this one. Can’t wait to try this technique. Looks like so much fun!
Emma, this is a MASTERPIECE. I really love this beautiful mysterious snowy texture. i am going to have a go at this tomorrow.. It was especially useful as I am getting older I my eyes can't see close up so much and I was struggling to paint, this is perfect for my eyesight and gives me hope that even with poor eyesight I could make amazing paintings
I really like this idea. I'm partway through a painting with snow and blue evergreens that is not turning out quite right, so I think I might wreck it, and add some of your texturizing ideas!
The big splotches are good! It lends depth. You know how taking a picture of snow coming down, the closer flakes show up large and bright? That's how I see those bigger splotches. 👍
So awesome!!! Can’t wait for New York! I am a beginner but you are my go to RUclips channel as I love your techniques and find that I can actually paint after watching you. So inspirational!
Its just awesome.I am going to try it very soon in the next few days. Can you show some more holiday theme tutorials as that will be great. Everyday i look forward and eagerly wait to seeing something new from you and feel delighted to see something . Thanks Ellen for being such a wonderful teacher and and giving me an opportunity to follow my passion which i had forgotten about.
Always awesome! I just recently got a Princeton aqua elite cats tongue and I love it. I'm thinking about getting a round but not sure yet. I use the creative mark - mimic faux squirrel and really like them and their affordable. I wish I just bought them when I began painting but ypu never know if you will like a specific item if you never try. Have a great day
Iv not long found your channel,I really love your style,iv done some Christmas cards you did they turned out good ,I’m catching up on your vidios lv Ann uk ❤️❤️❤️🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
This is awesome, Ellen. Notice this is pretty close along the color wheel. Do you think the hazy grey wash would work over a contrasting color image or would the alcohol create mud? I was thinking about a glowing lantern or simple lighted tree.

This could be a fun creepy card, maybe a hint of a moon. The spots could be more like fog or starlight than snow.
