I painted the one with the stream, shared it on fb, and someone wanted to buy it! I kind of messed up the water's perspective but will keep at it. Tried the scraping one too, need to finish it. I absolutely love your videos and am learning so much from you. Thank you Ellen!!
What a great idea Ellen, I shall be making some of those for Christmas gifts ! Thank you for sharing with us all those little tips that make a great painting xx
Lovely idea! How about a mini tree ornament to either mail or give as a gift. Maybe mounted on card stock in different shapes. What can your creative mind come up with? Everyone can use an ornament. 😊
Thank you, Ellen! I loved these so much and your idea of giving them as gifts. I’m just starting out, but I painted these for family and friends for Christmas and put in the mini frames. They were so much fun to learn and to gift. 😊
So pleased with this idea! With your great directions, I made both of them and I’m totally happy with the first try! I will be making more for my family. Thank you, Ellen, for helping me create these lovely gifts. You are the best!
Loved this one. I did mine on 4 x 6 postcards and stitched a frame outline around the painting. 🥰❤️ thank you for the easy and fun instructions and inspiration
I really enjoyed this tutorial and have made two renditions of the birch trees. The scraping technique works so well. My favorite blue is endanthrene blue which is perfect for a night sky. Wish you could see all the holiday houses/church I have created based on a tutorial you made last year. I have had such fun painting those but ended up keeping most of them for myself as I couldn't bear to part with them. I use glitter and shimmer paint for ice and snow and it really adds a frosty touch that gives a scene that holiday sparkle. I will keep watching and learning from you. Thanks and Happy New Year, Ellen! The best silver glitter paint is made by an artisan in England, Karen KJ Designs (I think), and the paint is called Bezel. Wets instantly and goes on like a dream. Perfect for Christmas.
Love, love your work. I’m trying to improve, but a slow go. Confused about watercolor paper, but do understand 100% cotton is probably the best. Sooo many brands out there.
Just found your videos, I love your artwork. Your style is goals 😌 Thank you for uploading so many great little Christmas/winter themed watercolor videos! Can't get enough of them. ♥
Very cool and fun paintings. I am trying them for gifts this year. Quick question: what kind of brush is best for small, fine work? I have a small brush but when I use it, it smashes down so the fine point ends up not being used, but dragged behind the rest of the brush. What kind of brush won't flatten out like that?
Super pretty! I will give them a try, and that will be the closest that I get to snow. Your palette is lovely. May I know where you purchased it? Have a happy Thanksgiving; we all have so much to be grateful for.
This is so great! I’m going to definitely do this! I’m also really interested in the porcelain pallet I see you’re using. Would you please let me know where you found it?
No, it's actually correct. Do an online search of photos of rivers and streams going down hill or just landscapes with them in. And the river is more narrow at the top of the image the further away it is in the distance. It is wider as it gets closer towards us. It the same with roads, railway tracks paths, etc. It gets narrow the further away it becomes. It is called the "vanishing point" in art.
Darling young woman, please nurture yourself. You know what that is, painting. Find a friend, a group on Facebook, or Instagram who draw or paint. All of us, who have seen your comment DO SUPPORT YOU.
my aunt keeps telling me to stop painting. she doesn't know how much i tried to distract myself to avoid self harm. I eventually stop and ended harming myself few days after 🥲
Omg she needs to just back off ..paint all you want . Don't let anyone destroy what makes you better..sounds jealous she's a bitter person . And not your friend ..trust me
Cute! These would make nice Christmas ornaments as well. Just glue some ribbon to the frame and hang them on your tree.
I love mini frames...they're so easy for a lot of small art.

these are really cute! i love it! thank you for sharing the idea and also your artwork💕✨
I like the idea of cutting it up. Would you just extend the scene and cut it up?
yes!
Enjoyed doing these. I used White Bleed Proof indian ink instead of Gouache, it seemed to do the same job.
I love the simplicity of them. Thanks!
Love, love your work. I’m trying to improve, but a slow go. Confused about watercolor paper, but do understand 100% cotton is probably the best. Sooo many brands out there.

Really beautiful!
I cracked up at,"they can stick it in their bathroom". Because, I always think that my art is good for a bathroom too.

There are lovely, and I think I'm going to try them for Christmas cards this year. Ellen, what palette are you using now?
i love the birch trees, great tip. love this video❤️how do you know when to use the guache?
💛
Are you using granulated watercolors? I’m asking because of the ways the trees spread out and seemed to separate.
This is so great! I’m going to definitely do this! I’m also really interested in the porcelain pallet I see you’re using. Would you please let me know where you found it?
Hi hello they are beautiful I will have ago sending lv Ann uk 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thanks so much 😊
Is that a ceramic palette in the video? I’m a beginner, and have been searching for an affordable one for a while.
Nice paintings Ellen, but the stream is running the wrong way….;)
I love these little paintings, but that stream running uphill makes my teeth itch! 😂
It looks like it’s coming down the hill….narrow in the distance, wider as it gets closer…to me, anyway…
