Ellen! You were the first water colour artist I started with and your Mini Monday Madness videos is what got me started and loving painting! My grand daughter and I have your matching tshirts. (She wore hers for picture day this school year). She is 9, and this year alone she has won province wide painting of a heritage building and won city wide competition for recycle poster. She is amazing! And we love to watch your videos together. Thank you from my heart. And I wish you and your family a safe, happy Christmas and good health for 2025. 🎉
As your painting the little white flowers on your first painting if you look to your color palette, your green blues and yellow mixes looks like a dragon head. It’s really cool.
I also started with you. I like your teaching style and I just feel like you are a friend. I loved following along with your Monday minis and really learned alot! They were perfect for me. I hope you bring them back soon!
@@ellencrimitrent I just did the winter scene and I'm so happy with how it turned out. Thank you so much for the great tutorial. I've only been doing watercolor for 2 years (and mostly only in July for World Watercolor Month, lol), and I seem to have to relearn everything every time I pick up a brush. Your tutorials are wonderful.
Oh Ellen I loved mini Mondays! That's when I started to watch you, when I was sick. I'm better and enjoy painting water color everyday! 😊 Happy Holidays! Thanks
Wow, I loved those mini Mondays. The best part of them was they weren't intimidating and if you screwed up on the painting you weren't wasting much paper at all.
Hi Ellen, I have been watching your videos for quite some time now. you are a great teacher! I have decided to join your patreon and work on my watercolor painting skills for 2025, thank you for being so awesome and making me feel that there really aren't any mistakes!
No, not Arches, but I am aware this is a wet on wet technique. The paper always dries too quickly, no matter how I hurry so perhaps it is the paper. Thank you. ❤ I’ll give that a try as I’m fairly new to all this.
I love your work and your comments. MINI monday...will check it out. Found 4x4 stretched canvas on wooden easel at $tree. As a newbie, decided to do 3.5x3.5 on paper and mounted on canvas that painted black. Oh so cute. Xmas gifts fir friends. Ok the easels so rough but put a brown wash on them and then hand sanded down. You should see the pic. Sharing my new artwork @77. Appreciate your tips. Winston Salem, nc
This is great. I love the Mini Mondays and hope you bring them back. I have a question. I thought that watercolor paintings needed to be matted to keep them from touching the plastic/glass. Is this not necessary here?
I’ve been wanting to try water coloring forever. I may be brave enough in 2025. You make it look possible. The supplies are intimidating. Not sure what to buy. And buying too much can get expensive.
Hi! I bought way too many supplies to begin with. You only need three colors to begin painting, blue, red and yellow because you can make all other colours from these. Student grade paint is not too expensive and is quite good. You’re going to probably waste a lot of paint and paper at the beginning while you experiment. Walmart has pads of inexpensive paper to play with and you can just draw a few squares on each and just practice some easy stuff. I went to the library and borrowed beginner painting books….they have a lot and before you know it you’re cards for family members. Oh, and you’ll need a couple of brushes…Walmart has them too. Good luck…I’ve been painting for 12 years and found once you get over worrying about what others think of your paintings you will have a lot of fun and find that it becomes addictive!
I loved your mini Mondays. I hope you bring it back.
Someday !
@@ellencrimitrentI loved them too and would definitely watch again! ❤
Me too!

This was so much fun to watch, I’d be scared to death of using a big brush on such a small painting 😂 but you’ve made me want to try it! 🤗🇬🇧
Nice!
I love you!
Awe 🫢 ☺️
Cudne są. Przypomniałaś mi historyjki z gum do żucia. To co zrobiłaś jest takie,, słodkie ‚’❤
Amazon has the 2 sided frames with chains. 2-4 in a pack depending on the size.
yay there you go I know Hobby lobby has small ones and brighter gold too but they seemed all out last time I was there.
Do you remember the name of the company? I tried but only expensive ones came up.
Really lovely. I miss the Mini Mondays.
Love!
Thx ☺️
Hi Ellen beautiful Happy Christmas lv Ann ❤️❤️❤️🇬🇧
I love the way you get the colors to “bleed” in the water. No matter what I try I cannot get the colors to “bleed” - at least not much.
Using good paper like Arches? And it is important to wet the paper (in this case, the sky is still wet).
No, not Arches, but I am aware this is a wet on wet technique. The paper always dries too quickly, no matter how I hurry so perhaps it is the paper. Thank you. ❤ I’ll give that a try as I’m fairly new to all this.

Well you can if u want for me I am not thinking it needs to outlive me.😊
@ 😄😄😄 Good point. I thought it was to keep humidity from activating the paint causing to run, but I like your thinking. Thank you.
I tried wet on wet like those trees. I tapped along the background and they did not turn into anything lol. I would love to do that!
Same. I tried more water, less water and my paint did not spread like that. Is it my paper?
