@@gerardjagroo Jorah's mistake and her being a gold digger can be mutually exclusive. She shouldn't have married him if she wasn't going to commit to the marriage. Don't justify her shitty personality by victim-blaming a drunk and naive Jorah.
I never got the impression from either the books or tv series that he “hated” her. I know he said he did, but he was madly in love with her. After seeing her once. He beggered himself and lost his honor to keep her and lost her anyway while he was with the Golden Company trying to earn enough to keep her in the style she was used to. When he discovered she went to be some Prince’s or Sultan’s or what ever he was whore to enable her extravagant ways than stay with him he realized she never really loved him at all. I think he hated himself more. She married him because he was a knighted Lord. Because she looked a lot (he said “a bit” but if you’ll remember the part of the story where he captures Tyrion the whore who was pretending to be the Dragon Queen was the reason he was there at all) like Daenerys is one of the reasons he was drawn to her, but Daenerys was so much more than his ex ever could be, he fell so deeply in love with her, than even when he knew he’d never have his feelings reciprocated and when the relationship between Daenerys and Jon happened he wasn’t jealous or resentful of Jon. He loved his Khaleesi and wanted nothing more than to be close to her and serve her however she needed him to. Daenerys loved Jorah but just not romantically and his death is one the reasons she went from protector to destroyer. I’m just glad that in the tv series anyway, Jorah didn’t live to see what happened to her in the end.
Yeah I hear ya. His usage if "hate" is more representative of pain of loss, or self hate as you mentioned Loved your final point btw. I'm so with you. Then again, if he was alive, things may have been different ... *hands up emoticon*

Hi there. My opinion about what? Season 8? If that is your question, I absolutely loved it. The finale took a second watch to sink in, but now I see every episode as a 10. Pure brilliance :))
There's a good reason for Martin's books being called a Song of Ice and Fire. The theme of opposites is a constant one, from the overlying story arcs to small sideline observations. Since every-single-body knows what it's like to be torn - and most are aware of the emotional devastation that can follow, we're bound to get deeply involved in a saga/an epos as well-crafted as Song/GoT. "It's just a story, a fantasy story at that!" doesn't wash, ever! Don't let anyone make you feel childish or easily manipulated. Besides, you don't need to justify or explain yourself. Loving a great story and holding on to it won't change the world - but it'll change an individual and even a group of people, WE are here and listen and talk to each other, exchanging opinions and thoughts and feelings, right? Maybe a good time to send out a big wave of thanks to all creators of great contents that have developed over almost a decade. Thank you for your hard work and sharing!
Nice one kev 👌u took me to skool on this one,I didn’t know he had been married before lynesse😉,which iv always found very suspicious by the way.Anyway nice one brother 👍
That last line of Jorah goes to show the twisted love he had towards Dany. I don't remember the show version implementing this part which I think they should have because it shows Jorah under a different light, almost making him seem like a bad character. Not only did he betray her but he also comes back to her to some extent because she reminds him of his ex-wife. I'm not saying he is a bad character, he proved he was worthy of serving Dany but it casts extra shade on his past and character as a whole. Even though this would damage his looks I feel like thats what the story was all about. NO ONE was perfect they all had their own issues and you had to take the best of each and even the ¨worst¨ characters had their positives. I think the easiest example of this is Cercei. Though she was filled with hatred her love for her children was never ending. Even if Joffrey terrified her she couldn't stop loving him. This is somewhat related to the previous paragraph but not important to it. I think at some point Dany even reflects upon the love Jorah has for her and thinks to herself something in the lines of: He loves me because i remind him of his ex-wife. I beleive this happens on the ship bringing them to Astapor where one night Ser Jorah drunkenly kisses Dany.
most likely, valyrians dont have special blood. nettles rode a dragon. and dany was the only valyrian to have survived fire (through magic, not her blood)
Wasn't Nettles technically Targ, by blood? Being the daughter of a Dragonseed family, and all? If they were actually immune to fire, she may have inherited that. But I agree with you that Daenerys was only immune to fire through magic.

This whole story is in the clash of kings book. POV of 'daenerys'. Somewhere around 195 page.i guess it was 3 pages of his story. I read the whole story of his but never got enough details of his.
Okei I'll be super unpopular and say that I never liked Jorah, I think he is/was creepy as hell and that even thinking of marrying someone half your age make you a shitty human being. 15 year olds should NOT marry anyone, and def NOT men twice their age, period.
In text, she is what? 15ish? 16? 13? There is a LOT of shite behind Jorah and Lynesse in general, but in text something that stands out is the 'fortnight' HE is happy. The first two weeks together were bliss. For HIM...and then real life. Jorah blames his wife for not understanding what she was getting into...and he KNEW. This isn't even the only 'fortnight' timing in text. Penrose gets a fortnight to give Edric/Storm's End to Stannis, and more fortnights. Including the clever name of Night Fort. People lose their taste for food when they are DEEP unhappy in life. Lyn was DYING and Jorak STILL blames HER.
I could never find anything explicit. Maybe because he is a knight but I dunno if they know or care about that differentiation between the faith. So unless someone finds something concrete, I'm guessing it's just that every westerosi is painted as an andal in their heads

He is laying the breadcrumbs and clues that can only lead to these conclusions! no one will admit it but the reason why so many people disliked season eight is because HBO didn’t answer all these crazy ass inferences and close these plot lines. I loved season 8 FYI JONS SPEECH TO THE FALLEN / Dani rage I did not like the ending Per say but it was entertaining. I mean how many clues that Ned was switched with Syrio in the dungeons or “maybe a kiss maybe more there is nothing like a tourney to boil the blood” how many clues about all these other things that he didn’t give us any answer for. Isn't there ANY sympathy out there in the fandom for the young wife who basically got the Westeros version of CATFISHED?! I mean, family married her off to live in the middle of the woods to an old man.... How would YOU handle that as a teenager? LOL love this story.
I think I misjudged Jorah. He wasn't honorable like Ned Stark or Barristan Selmy. Jorah would do anything for his ex-wife. He brought dishonor to his house, with the slave trading, going on the run, and becoming a sellsword. So I think he would do that and more for Daenerys. He'd do anything to earn her love. Just because he's a hero type and from the elite he's not excused for chasing teenagers. (Dany was 13!)
@@gerardjagroo Jorah's mistake and her being a gold digger can be mutually exclusive. She shouldn't have married him if she wasn't going to commit to the marriage. Don't justify her shitty personality by victim-blaming a drunk and naive Jorah.
Ah love the video! Thanks so much. Jorah Superfan here and you made me tear up a bit
Yes!!! Jorah gets alot of flack. I love seeing hardcore jorah fans :))
Does he really get flack? What the hell for??
His usage if "hate" is more representative of pain of loss, or self hate as you mentioned
Loved your final point btw. I'm so with you. Then again, if he was alive, things may have been different ... *hands up emoticon*
GOD BLESS THIS CHANNEL!! ONE OF THE ELITE! 👑👑👑👑👑👑👑

Still hitting them out of the park, Ser. Hope you are well. Cheers, y'all.
You as well, thanks :))

@@bridge4 He still is, really hope the books don't kill him off.
I haven't read the books yet so I don't know if he's as likeable but damn. I just want to give Jorah a hug haha
I'm trying to get the last season of GOT out of my mind 😬 but I enjoy your videos, they are awesome and so I will keep watching. Keep up the good content
Thanks :))
I've been so perplexed by this forever, the whole jorah the andal thing. in the show he was blonde hair and fair looking, and the andals we're said to be fair-haired and blonde, then I read a depiction of him in the books and hes most certainly of the north lol. Definitely one of the best characters in the show, pray to the old gods and new that they change their minds and do a Robert's Rebellion spinoff!
The bitter-sweet of it all.
I wonder how many show only fans know the details of his past. It's so sad :*( hopefully some people find this useful :))
@@bridge4 So many pages, so many stories.
@@bridge4 I very much look forward to reading (please, George, write and write faster!) the book versions of these tales. I expect most (not all) will not change in structure from the show, but as in all book-to-screen adaptations, the books are so much.... more.
Loved this!
Hats off to ser george r.r. mountain :-P
Oof that hurts. For all the bad he’s done Jorah is my favorite
Aw really? I love see that. Very cool :))
Tbh I believe it’s due in part to how well Iain Glen played him and the nuances he showed made the character feel less creepy towards danny than book jorah did redeeming the character overall and allowing for more emotional investment in him
@@ayom5600 I feel ya. Ian glenn was is phenomenal. And you're right about the writing for show jorah being less creepy, partially aided by the fact that dany is aged up
Holy shit I was about to recommend this paragraph of bran, Meera and Jojen like 2 days ago because it really had my attention but I was looking mostly at the part of "then love and hate can mate. Mountain and marsh, it makes no matter." I just felt like this might be an Arryn-Reed hint though I can't yet find the question to which this relation between houses could be the answer
Interesting....I cant think of anything off the top of my head, but I like the way you're thinking. Now it's on my radar :))
As always, I love your videos. Even so, " bridge4 flare", no ." Bridge4 flair", yes.
Lol. Whoopsies

Pretty sure he’s not loving Dany much right now either 😳
Still alive in the books :))

In the books, definitely NOT! She’s kinda gross at the moment. 😂😂😂😂😂
Hey man, tomorrow I was thinking in u. I saw all ur videos about got. You make me company when we wait for season 8. I don't wanna bother but I really want ur opinion about it. (sorry for my english, i'm just a little brazilian) :D
Hi there. My opinion about what? Season 8? If that is your question, I absolutely loved it. The finale took a second watch to sink in, but now I see every episode as a 10. Pure brilliance :))

Bridge the gap
Jorah will always be my favorite. His death was a good one.
Tragically beautiful arc. Very "satisfying" endings for the bears tho. Long live see jorah!!
Thank you very for the kind words and more importantly for taking the time to write such a deep post :))
bridge4 - the pleasure and privilege are mine, Captain (:
Wow. You should narrate ASoIAF you got a good voice for it. Storm light Archive would be great too seeing as your channel name is bridge 4.

That's good to hear, bc I'm always fearful of the non tinfoil videos
Thanks as always, ser gavo!
Great story bridge4.
All credit to grrm :))
Whoa, very cool vid.
Thanks :))
can you make a top 10 fighters of all time asoiaf only not Got?
I'm working on the research for such. Gonna be a bit tho. I have a lot of guys to think through still, my bad :-/
I have a theory that The night king had dragon blood/Targaryen that would explain The third dragon rider and why he survived dragon fire
most likely, valyrians dont have special blood. nettles rode a dragon. and dany was the only valyrian to have survived fire (through magic, not her blood)
Wasn't Nettles technically Targ, by blood? Being the daughter of a Dragonseed family, and all? If they were actually immune to fire, she may have inherited that. But I agree with you that Daenerys was only immune to fire through magic.
Hey !
As a lot of people, I am not a book nerd, and I have been really disappointed by the last season...

@@gavomorg762 Hey friend. Calm yer tits. "Book nerd" is a perfectly acceptable colloquial term for fans who focus on the books rather or more than the show. Kev runs things friendly around here, plz respect that.

This whole story is in the clash of kings book. POV of 'daenerys'. Somewhere around 195 page.i guess it was 3 pages of his story. I read the whole story of his but never got enough details of his.
Karen took the fuckin''' left me
Okei I'll be super unpopular and say that I never liked Jorah, I think he is/was creepy as hell and that even thinking of marrying someone half your age make you a shitty human being.
I always wondered why they called him the Andal.
I could never find anything explicit. Maybe because he is a knight but I dunno if they know or care about that differentiation between the faith.
So unless someone finds something concrete, I'm guessing it's just that every westerosi is painted as an andal in their heads
@@bridge4 Do you know why Brienne is "Brienne of Tarth," and not Brienne Tarth? Or, why she says she's not a lady? Or, why Arya also says she's not a lady? Thanks.
@@jeffgalef121 arya and brienne both have biases against the standard role of highborn ladies, so they dont like being called it. Was a nice moment in s7 when she finally held her rebuke and thanked pod :))
Brienne last name is tarth, so it's a good question. But shed also from the island of tarth. So it's just a cool way of saying her name. Like jorah of bear island. Brienne of tarth. Thoros of myr
@@jeffgalef121 they dont say jorah if bear island. I made that one up before realizing thoros of myr was good example lol. My bad
@@bridge4 I figured it was the case that both Brienne and Arya are ladies by birth, but just don't like being called ladies. As for Thoros, does he have a last name? I figured people not from established houses don't have last names, e.g., Geralt of Rivia.
Lynesse was a Hightower... she had that silver blonde hair

I always believed in my heart Ned caught Jorah and sent him on a secret mission to protect his (Ned’s) daughter to regain Jorahs honor (N+A=D)
If ned had sex out of wedlock tho, then it makes his lie about jon less impactful
Do you still dig n+a=d ?
bridge4 I knew you’re gonna ask me that.... here’s the problem the writing style of this crazy ass author:
He left us all these specific clues and inferences that lead to many of us to have these conspiracy theories. He is laying the breadcrumbs and clues that can only lead to these conclusions! no one will admit it but the reason why so many people disliked season eight is because HBO didn’t answer all these crazy ass inferences and close these plot lines. I loved season 8 FYI JONS SPEECH TO THE FALLEN / Dani rage
I did not like the ending Per say but it was entertaining.
I mean how many clues that Ned was switched with Syrio in the dungeons or “maybe a kiss maybe more there is nothing like a tourney to boil the blood” how many clues about all these other things that he didn’t give us any answer for. THIS IS WHAT PISSED EVERYONE OFF.
How many years did I wait for a payout of
Who the fuck is Quiathe
Or the hardest personally -
“when we see each other again we will talk about your mom”
My opinion.. (don’t forget I’m a pro REACHER)
GRRM is giving a big middle finger to HBO for the changes they made he did not like .....and /or the books will answer all or some of the questions in the end and that’s what I’m hoping for .....and that’s why you better keep doing videos Kevin
My question is Why were there slavers on bear island? after all you have to go all around westeros and back again to pick up two slaves when you could just go to hardhome to grab a few dozen wildling children
They were poachers. He caught them and sold them as slaves, making him a slaver :-/
Alot of irony considering he falls for the breaker of chains :))
@@bridge4 no i mean the slavers who then bought the poachers
@@troperhghar9898 ohhhh gotcha. I'm hot sure where he sold them. Do you recall any details on that? I always assumed it wss some shady deal off bear island
@@bridge4 I'm double checking right now and there's nothing on where the slavers were from if for example bear island were off the coast of dorne it would be obvious that the slavers came from tyrosh however since these slavers were willing to buy prisoners it doesn`t make any sense why they wouldn't just stop in sunspear and oldtown
Ser Jorah had a thing for platinum blondes.

bridge4 Yeessss!!! Thanks
Isn't there ANY sympathy out there in the fandom for the young wife who basically got the Westeros version of CATFISHED?! I mean, family married her off to live in the middle of the woods to an old man.... How would YOU handle that as a teenager? LOL love this story.
B...
Book version was a vile creep
Interesting that the first woman to break his heart did it for money. The second did it for power.
And the third timez by second person, wss for love :)) (with jon)
I think I misjudged Jorah. He wasn't honorable like Ned Stark or Barristan Selmy. Jorah would do anything for his ex-wife. He brought dishonor to his house, with the slave trading, going on the run, and becoming a sellsword. So I think he would do that and more for Daenerys. He'd do anything to earn her love. He died for her. Just think, if he didn't die during battle, maybe he would have been the one that Daenerys sent to Winterfell to kill Sansa. That would have been heart breaking. How do I think of these things? #TeamSansa
Oh, allot of men share the same feelings as, Jorah. The power a strong women has or can have over men. You hate it but live for it.
I love it. And die for it :-P
@@bridge4 I could be one character, in a game thrones, it would be Jorah Mormont. Allot of people hate season eight but Jorah's last stand, is simply an amazing scene. It's my favorite scene and the most powerful scene in the show. I get pumped just thinking about it.
