      Daniel Mayne I hate to break it to you, but the Republican Party is full of rich elites including president Trump. He was born into wealth and privilege and has no idea of how the real people live and work. As he always claims he went to elite private schools, paid by his multi millionaire father, until he went to work for him in his real estate business. Not at the bottom, to learn the ropes, but as an executive, wheeling and dealing with all the corruption and sleaze that is inherent in the high flying world of international hotels and big business. Can’t you see that the D.B. Norton is Donald J Trump? I don’t understand how you can watch this movie and not see the comparison. Even to the point of showing how easily the people can be swayed by the loudest voice in the room, which Trump has always been. The comparison is so evident, only someone who believes anything that Trump ever said couldn’t see it.

    What a brilliant movie! The script, acting, light, dialogues... everything is utterly genius. I love the little details such as the dog that tosses the papers into the trash or the theme song they play over and over. It was made in 1942 but is very relevant to our time now, in 2022.

      Yes and I agree. But haven't you realized that this classic story is one that's been the foundation of many films that's been made since?
      From drama to comedy. Let me ask you, have you seen it familiar with a comedy film from the early 2000's called "Joe Dirt"? If you have the. Perhaps you'd see what I'm saying here.
      Anyway, this film is indeed a great classic and is relevant to this day. In fact, it's message is desperately needed more than ever.
      Unfortunately American society isn't as smart as it once were. It's been dumbed down. People walking around so clueless it's unbelievable.
      People who couldn't say how many stars are on our flag.
      Ask them obvious questions and they cant answer. Like "What's the Capitol of Idaho?" And some people answered "potato". Ask them who won the war of independence and they go blank.

      @@Violetta1912 it is sad indeed when the seeds of distrust have been sown so deep, that they have divided the country. They spew lies as readily as Trump. I tried to listen to Tucker Carlson once after listening to another trusted reporter and what he said was so outrageously wrong and totally opposite to what had been reported on the other network, I was stunned.

Once, in anger Riskin handed Capra a blank piece of paper and said, "Let's see the great Mr. Capra write the movie." ...or some similar words. Then this movie where I first realized who actually was Gary Cooper. His acting is so real and lifelike it makes me feel like a true fly on the wall of peoples lives. • @MikeGreenwood51

      No. Not at all funny considering the film was all about dough. IE Capitalists zelously trying to get dough how ever reguardless of moral values. Then Mr. Doe also then ruins his pitching career by fraudulently racketeering to profit from all the dough his lies, deceit and deception can get him. It's no more funny than kneeding dough believing you need bread. Doughn't know why any one would laugh. Or that my viewpoint is just a joke and not to be taken seriously.

    • @thelmaschoen8980
      @thelmaschoen8980 5 лет назад +1

      Good Grief!! I NEVER thought that of that. The thing is that ANYTHING and ANY ONE that co-starred with Stanwyck was magnificent.... SHE would some how get them to that grand level when they co-starred with her. But, I will say that she and Cooper had a definite "connection".... have you ever seen "Ball of Fire"? Then they also made "The Fountainhead"... Excellent male actor with that extra "something", whether it was understated or downright explosive. She and Dennis Morgan.... Dennis Morgan! With her it was explosive... SHE was the match that lit the "fire" -- anyway.... that's my opinion... and, I'll be 81 come this July 30th! So, I've seen lots of her work ... in my time. *Also, she had GREAT legs!

    • @joycie014
      @joycie014 4 года назад

      Thelma Schoen I cant imagine Stanwyck with Walken either. It might have been interesting. But I agree I loved her in Ball of Fire as a hot nightclub singer and Cooper as a repressed and naive English professor. A great pairing.

      All those "great" films were made BEFORE Blacks and Hispanics were "invented," anyone notice? Even in the great movies like "Dodge,""Shane," "High Noon," etc. NOR even Gary Cooper, John Wayne, Roy Rogers and Gene Autrey movie had Blacks or Hispanics. Besides the Little Rascals... the only movie with a Black person in it was Charlie Chan... always portrayed by a Caucasian and the Black guy was a buffoon, always bugging his eyes and running scared. EFF all those old movies.

      @@davidlloyd1750 Don't be an ass hole all your life. When your apocalyptic suicide cult is the devil itself then make not the mistake of thinking it is every one else. Jewsus was of course not the only son of God. His ministry was not even accepted by the Sanhedrin Council of Judea at the time. Jewsus even preached to his diesheeples (those he said would all be executed for his name sake) that many false preachers would come proclaiming him the messiah or even God. Be not deceived he is written as having said. So are you trying to elevate him to a position which he himself told to be wary of as that is false.

      @@MikeGreenwood51 On the following day, when they came from Bethany, he was hungry. And seeing in the distance a fig tree in leaf, he went to see if he could find anything on it. When he came to it, he found nothing but leaves, for it was not the season for figs. And he said to it, “May no one ever eat fruit from you again.” And his disciples heard it.
      And they came to Jerusalem. And he entered the temple and began to drive out those who sold and those who bought in the temple, and he overturned the tables of the money-changers and the seats of those who sold pigeons. And he would not allow anyone to carry anything through the temple. And he was teaching them and saying to them, “Is it not written, ‘My house shall be called a house of prayer for all the nations’? But you have made it a den of robbers.” And the chief priests and the scribes heard it and were seeking a way to destroy him, for they feared him, because all the crowd was astonished at his teaching.
