Really impressed with how this sounds. There wasn't a sound that was unusable to me, everything sounded great. Bridge will definitely cut through but doesn't sound aggressive and nasal, and that neck is fat and warm. Also, as an aside, shout out to the Lightspeed, such a great drive pedal.
Yes, I have to agree with all of that... they're such clear and pleasant sounding pickups. I'd not played these Cream T models before, but need to test out more from them now! Really good stuff, and they suit the St. John down to the ground. And yes, the Lightspeed always makes me sound better too. The first drive pedal on my board every time :)
Really cool guitar, great useful tones too. I've loved the pickup configuration since I tried it on the Pacifica 611, and have always wanted to try a premium Pacifica 611! Would prefer some contouring though.
I have to agree, I think it's a great pickup config as well! I've not tried that specific Pacifica, but I have tested the 612 (which is the HSS brother) and that is an excellent guitar as well! Contouring is something I don't require, predominantly playing a Telecaster ;) Would probably make this guitar feel even more expensive though. Might actually make it more expensive too. Cheers for watching!
What a good sounding guitar! I like the pickups, especially the neck pickup. Drop D was a good idea, but I think it is a really great guitar for low tunings because of its sound characteristic. It sounds massive but balanced and has a lot of clarity. I would try a d standard or a drop c tuning. I like the lower sounds and I think that this guitar can deliver a lot.
That's a great idea - I'll de down-tuning the St. John next week to see how it handles some of those lower sounds and frequencies! It certainly has an amazing clarity across the pickups, and they suit the styles of msuic I tend to play extremely well... Cream T are a brand I need to pay more attention to for sure. (Teaser: I actually do have one video with them coming from #42GSFour where we test them out a bit with Rich Bischoff.) By the way... this comment makes me think a St. John baritone would be an AMAZING idea!
It's growing on me too! I've not had a guitar with this pickup config before... and it is indeed super versatile. I guess there's a couple of key Strat tones it won't do, but those are the tones I might use less anyway - and the St. John does a bunch of things a Strat doesn't! It could indeed be the winner in those terms. You need to try one!
Did you get burgled , or did you buy Jon Oliver’s blank white studio? Does it have Jon H. Benjamin’s voice??? Cool guitar that scratch plate looks funky.

Oh man... that is very pretty in black!
It's not bad, is it? It's because it's satin, I think... I much prefer that to gloss with black. A lovely guitar all round!
I love the look of it. It says "Play Me", 😊
Me too, it's a really well thought-out design! And I can't stop playing it :)

Best guitars out there 👍🏽🎸awesome
Totally agree! Cheers!

Great to see a British made guitar company showing the American guitar giants just how good it gets 👏
Oh yes, always good to see that 😎 PJD are doing an amazing job!
Hey Cousin Rich! Nice deep dive here, something about humbucker and p90 on an offset that is growing on me. Could it be more flexible than a strat?

He he, I used all my furnishing funds on pointless guitar gear :) But yeah, this guitar is worth it!
@@RichWordsMusic 😂👏🏽👏🏽.
Love it, but i can only afford a St John Below Standard i guess
Ha ha, same as me really! I'm waiting for the St. John Adequate model to come out in 2024.
👍🏻👍🏻
Cheers for watching!
