Vauxhall Vectra C How To Remove The Head Lining Part 1
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 26 янв 2021
- In this video I am removing the head lining from this Vauxhall Vectra C so I can re cover the head lining frame with a new cloth. The old head lining failed, leaving a "tent effect" where the original lining had failed due to the glue and sponge backing deteriorating. There are many clips and hidden wires to disconnect so let's see what's involved.

Lots of people would have given up on this job as soon as they couldn’t immediately see an obvious way to unplug those vanity mirror connectors - Great to see you successfully remove the lining and now RUclips has a video on removing a Vectra C headlining! 👍🏼😄
its mad to think the other day i noticed my saggy vectra roof, so i youtube it and theres a full video to remove it! Nice!
Wow! Who knew an headlining would involve so much work and unwiring. Turned out to be a bigger job than I ever would’ve imagined. I know you will fit it all back together perfectly however. Can’t wait to see the finished article. 👍
Wow Martin!! you definitely take on the jobs that others wouldn’t! you’re like a Jedi 🤣🤣🤣 Can’t wait for part 2,, must be very rewarding
Thanks 👍
You said at the end "see you in a minute" i'm still waiting 😂
So am I lol
@@retrorestore im waiting to
Good work, my Subaru Impreza is a 53 plate and has the same issue, I have a sunroof to make things even more complicated but I may give it a go, I’ll look forward to part 2🙂👍
Great video as always Martin you did really well to get it out on your own I've looked at them visor clips and couldn't see how they were fitted but now thanks to you we all know looking forward to the next episode mate grand job so far Rob
They appears to be a build sheet for the car on the top of the roof lining! I love things like that I find it very interesting. Great video as always!
Oh Martin, the second part will definitely be very interesting and exciting :-)
Many, many other older cars have this problem as well. Not just Vauxhall .....
You are the man who does it .... thumbs up !!
Thanks 👍
Well that's a job and a half.
Good job. Can't wait to see the new going on Martin
Well done Martin. Sharon's a lucky lady.
You make it look easy. Going to look good when done.
You have great patients indeed , super fiddly job. If I’d done that every clip , connector and plastic trim would have broke. Nice work 👍
Martin You have done well getting that out on your own
Excellent work as always and can’t wait to see the next one. Thanks for the awesome content stay safe and take care
Well done what an awkward job looking forward to part 2 👍👨🏻🏭
Well done Martin,patience of a saint👍👍
Just watched the powder coating you done for your son on his video, came out great, what a difference that makes, handy bit of kit.👏👏
I did this job on a Saab 9000 years ago, getting the thing back in is a fiddle.
I found it helped when refitting to wind some clean white cloth around my hands as it's very easy to press finger marks into your new work. Must be one of the trickier jobs to do on a car!
Fair play to you martin great job.replace them interior bulbs to led 👌👌
Good how to guide , really like the way you use time lapse an stop to say what you just done, an any tricky bits that we will come up against 👍
Glad you enjoyed it
Great job Martin, looking forward to pt 2 👍
Thanks 👍
You're a brave man Martin. Certainly not a job I'd take on. Good on ya!!
A very tricky job indeed , good on you for tackling it 👍
It sure is
That looked like hard work Martin. I admire you for what you take on.
Take care, Jeff
Its all video content Jeff lol
Great video as always Martin you did really well to get it out on your own I've looked at them visor clips and couldn't see how they were fitted but now thanks to you we all know looking forward to the next episode mate grand job so far
Thanks 👍
Great job Martin, good luck with putting it back, what a pain.
It sure is
god what a kerfuffle that was to get out,the patience you had there martin ,much respect, see you in part 2.....all the best...............dougie
It was a bit of a faff Doug lol
great work Martin, well done too you.
Many thanks
Great video Martin. There you go a piece of cake of a job lol. Now you have plenty or room to remove and fit the new lining at your leisure lol.
Cheers, Jeff.
You got that right!
Top job, i hope you get something special for dinner for that monumentous effort. Informative as always
Well done Martin bud good work buddy 👍
Thanks 👍
@retrorestore Martin wow those ribbon cables what a pain very easy to tear them very interesting as always 👍
Yes they are.
what a carry on Martin!! Too much stuff on modern cars.
Good job as usual.
I agree.
Martin you did well there not much working room I'm looking forward on seeing new lining going in 👍
You and me both!
Big pat on the back mate lots of patience for a tricky job like that 👍
Thanks 👍
Great Vid Martin 👍
Thanks 👍
Good job Martin.
times ticking martin, you said "see you in a minute" lol great video fella
What a nightmare job that is Martin but its for sharon and she is worth it bless her 👍👍👍👍
Next video, Sharon gets a new car( possibly Triumph Acclaim).
Love your music is it free, thank you for the Video
No William, I pay a subscription for it.
This looks like a tough job well done for getting it out in one piece. I think I would of continued with glue, and then stuck some material over the top to hide the glue seeping through, but this is going to be a nice job once it's done.
i cant wait for part 2
Awesome work
Thank you! Cheers!
Good idea for a video Mart , your a brave man , what a faff.
Thanks 👍
Fair play dude 👍
good job M
great vid as always :)
Glad you enjoyed!
Tell you what Mart fair play on taking on this job, you never whine or moan you just get your head down and get on with it.. It'll look the business when it's done and back in 👏👏
Thank you!
Hi Martin ,when you put it back ,a big help is to fold the back seat forward and tip the roof liner at an angle ...
Good tip!
Well done. I know anything to do with headliners means big money at a shop . 👍
Toyota Camrys had this problem with the interior roof lining as well.
awww thanks a lot!
You made that look relatively easy !! I bet you powder coated your lads TZR bits on your tea break. 👍
Oh yes!
Молодец мужик, все подробно рассказал
You sure have patience. I would have been cussing up a storm.
Great video, I was just thinking if the material you use for the roof lining is compatible with the curtain airbags in the roof? Only just thought about if it's material that can easily tear on application of the airbags, suppose all head lining material is the same.
I would imagine it's all pretty similar spec
Very frustrating job that, better you than me Martin.
You need than a cuppa tea get a jack Daniels down ya 😂😂😂
A very tricky job soon be sorted
Great job Martin! How long did it take? Looking forward to part 2. Very enjoyable to watch 👍
Took about 40 mins to get out but next time would be quicker as I know what to do now.
@@retrorestore ....bs 2 day's LOLOL love the videos
Thank you Martin how long did the job take you and who’s Ford van is parked in your yard looking for to seeing the rest of the job thank you from South Africa
Still doing it bud. That was Gary's Family van
You have some patience!
What a nightmare job.
Martin what's the paper stuck on the headlining
Something to do with the car spec I think from the factory
What a task mate , I'd leave it like it is and tell Sharon not to look up 🤣😄😉 disconnect the battery next time Incase doggie bags go off , only messing about 👌
take my hat off to you on this one, it would have been easier to wrestle with a crocodile!
Yeah, don't come to Australia and see 17feet crocs lol
@@wwof1646 probably ain't allowed!
Yeah I won’t be doing any headliner anytime soon
Lucky it's a hatch. It would have been even tougher trying to get it out though the doors. Maybe in the factory it is fitted before the windscreen goes in.
Prob too late but are you able to remove the front wing I can't find any on RUclips
Don't have the car now Steve
Hello I did this too same car. All back together and now my lights on the visor and the middle are not going. I did break the ribbon in the boot yup missed that one 🤦🏽♀️ Any ideas?
Hard to say bud, sorry. you'll need to check.
Thank you. The ribbon from the front light does that go all the way to the boot? If it does I broke the boot ribbon when pulling it out so that would make sense as to why the visor and car internal lights don’t work now. Wish I had a photo of the back of the roof board that would show me where the electric ribbon goes too. Thanks though this video is awesome!
How long was that job all in all Martin? Some pain it looked. Fair play
Still doing it bud.
that does look a fiddly job i want to see what the end result looks like
Nearly there for our hobby
Just need the windows taken out and bumpers off and we’ll do the rest. 😂
Not quite ready for banger racing yet Jason lol
👍👍
Crikey, that was a job and a half.....hope to see it fixed sometime
Bit of a pig of a job. I did one on an old Citroen it did not last long think I had some damp coming in from the sunroof.. hope all is good mate
Waiting for more adhesive to turn up Mick
@@retrorestore cool mate
2 Days just on the light....unbelievable
Not a fun job Martin, still you got it out👍
sod that job...i would have torn out what was loose and got some stipple paint and done a rustico job on the ceiling...
Hey Martin, been following you for over 4 years and you have helped me massively. I have come across some issues that I am desperate for solutions. Do you have a personal email I can contact you on ???
You can email me on my "about" page bud.
@@retrorestore hey mate thank you so much for getting back to me, will email you next week : )
Part 2?
Waiting for more Adhesive.
I'm so sad you scrapped the Vectra 😮
Going to take out mine today, to see if it is relings that leak, this will be helpfull Sir, thanks
It came out being realy helpfull, I've removed headliner, resealed railings and resealed few rust spots under the railings that were forcing water to drip next to the BCM. All took around 2,5 hours +-
WOW thats a job and a half, if it was mine ive of nailed it back lol
Awkward job but you cracked it Martin, I've got my fingers crossed for the whole job but especially getting it back in!
Hehe "can pull this forward now" whilst nonchalantly ignoring the crease/tear lol You could prob get a newish one from a scrappy for silly money as there aint no metals in a headlining to speak off and the scrap man makes little money on plastic bits. You being a vinyl chap you could coat it in a nice leopardskin vinyl or plush fur yes bright pink plush faux fur will look da business :P
Fair play to ya that would do my fuckin head in 🤣🤣🤣🤣
The headlining looked like an unmade bed..
🤔🤔👍👍👍👍
Omg thats a bit of a faf martin lol
Scrap it man -just not worth it lol
Why didn't you disconnect the battery. You run a great risk of triggering air bags!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Not at all. Most people are scared due to not understanding how they work. Removing internal plastic trim doesn't affect them at all.
