    Still one of the best looking EV’s at the market. It’s more affordable than the PS3 or PS4 and provides a great driving experience. Considering Polestar to be at the market going forward I would opt for a replacement of my current MY22. Please Polestar - do not the Fisker way…

      Agreed! Benefit for Polestar is that it's owned by one of the biggest OEM-group globally.. That should give it some future perspective..

    Hey Thom. Good review as always. I absolutely love my MY24 RWD and think the Polestar 2 will always be classy and never outdated. I like it is not so common. I’m not tall so it fits nicely for me, and I like the overall compact package. The things I like best, other than the looks, are range, handling and the Google nav system. Also, it was only the MY24 that got the drivetrain refresh and solid grill. And the 20 inch tyres also impact on noise and range - 19s are better, I think.

    I think that the design is rather timeless, that’s a strong usp imo.

      The timeless design surely is its strong point!

    I’d like to see that centre console made thinner - to improve front leg space - and the old transmission tunnel removed for a true flat floor.
    And I think Polestar should make a slightly longer wheelbase version with a traditional estate back end, to boost PS2 model options. In this guise, I’d probably put it on my shortlist, but for now I’m favouring either the VW ID7 T or new Audi A6 Avant e-tron.
    Good review of this model though!

    Nice review but I won't consider having a heat pump as upgrade option during configuration as a pro in 2024. It should be standard.

      Thanks so much! I love the S90! That must be such a joy to daily drive. Fun fact, I owned a 2018 S90 D3 some years ago, in bursting blue metallic. I adored that car! Still want to get one back some day. Thanks again for the support! 😊

    The MY25 also changes the piano black midconsole thing. It is way better now, people have been wrapping it but now it comes adjusted based on what interior you choose. Piano black is no option anymore. So that's nice. I have a P2 LE Performance without heat pump (bcuz it wasn't available yet then).. it is really good. This car drives really well and longer trips are fine because this charges really well.. it's not the most efficient but the speed of charge and such things really make it a good one to travel with.

      They should have redesigned the useless center console altogether. See 7:22

    • @Vahndamme
      @Vahndamme 4 месяца назад +2

      @@JohnDoe-vx3z why? I have this car, my leg also sits against that side but it's no issue whatsoever. If you testdrive it you notice it. After a week or 2 you don't even realize it. Besides there's battery's in that console, can't do much with it. It gives a good feel to the 'cockpit' so no, I don't agree with what you say. It's fine. Also the 'wood' feeling cheap is quite stupid because 1 you never touch it and 2 it looks good in black ash wood. The barley color from the past was better for the wood, then they changed to magnesium like white wood w/e it's called.. and well that still looks okay with the interior but you're not gonna be rubbing your hands on it entire time lol. So no, I disagree fully, the cockpit is really good, the drive is awesome esp in Performance. I have a launch edition performance and it's been a blast. If you'll hear more owner experiences, you'll find out that your gripe with it isn't gonna find much sympathy.

    I'm about to take my 1st long EV roadtrip in my P2. I'm traveling from southern California to Idaho this week (850 mi) & hoping the charging will be there (the maps say it will be). I love the 1 pedal driving (very controllable), but will probably turn it off for this trip to get more range with some coasting. The P2 is larger & heavier than my C30, so I'm still getting used to that. At 5'6" I fit into it pretty well (no issue with bumping into the center console) & my seat position leaves room for back seat passengers. Not much storage space in the cabin (although the rear hatch area is generous) so I was happy to find that Volvo's accessory sunglass holder fits perfectly above the driver door where it replaces the grab handle same as in the C30.

    Really not sure what the Polestar's main selling edge is supposed to be? Given it's heritage, supposed to be sporty?

    BMW i4 is probably giving it some competition.

    Funny, I don't think he's outdated. Still people look at the car, and if I need to buy a new one it the nr1 option is the new Long Range.

      Looks/design wise it surely is still very modern. Though the CMA platform is coming to its ‘end’ and limitations of what is possible. Hopefully they continue the 2 sometime in the future on a newer platform which eg would allow for V2G capabilities. Thanks for watching Paul!

    Would you buy or lease ? GIven Fiskers recent demise and rumours about Polestar, would buying be a big risk? Only a minor thing re the design but i prefer the original grill.

    • @deurkl
      @deurkl 4 месяца назад

      Geely is doing okay, but I would still lease the car, as Polestar is not doing well in China, getting parts after ten years will be risky. New Geely products in China use different parts from this Polestar, which is mostly Volvo underneath still for most ECUs etc.

    • @patbarr1351
      @patbarr1351 4 месяца назад +1

      I leased mine due to good lease deals in the US. I don't think it's sensible to compare Polestar with Fisker. I don't think Fisker had enough capital and car making experience to get going. Volvo is well established, although the dealer network for Polestar is more limited (a consideration for sure).

    How would you say the driving dynamics compare to the rwd EX30?

    • @Vahndamme
      @Vahndamme 4 месяца назад +2

      EX30 rwd is no match for this car in any terms lol.

    • @thom-lov
      @thom-lov  4 месяца назад +2

      The EX30 is more easy-going kind of city/short distance car I'd say. The Polestar feels more solid and connected to the road. Allows for more 'driver-input' whilst the ex30 really aims for that comfort and easy driving. The Polestar is surely more fun, though in the EX30 you can have a bit of 'volvo-fun' as well.
