      I'm okay with digital side-view mirrors because they can essentially remove nighttime glare and blind spots, but yea, not a big fan of digital rear-view mirrors. Moving your head or the mirror around to get a better look at something, is also lost with digital mirrors

    The stupid thing about the no rear windscreen is that if you’re following a car you can often get a sense of what is going on ahead of them through the rear windscreen. I hate following a van etc for that reason. Honestly, this just seems completely unnecessary.

    I love that British people say "saloon" instead of "sedan." It always makes me imagine the car walking into an old western-style bar and letting people know this town ain't big enough for the both of us

    • @leangrypoulet7523
      @leangrypoulet7523 18 дней назад +3

      For us older Brits, pubs used to be divided into two separate areas, often with different entrances, called the ‘Public’ bar and the ‘Saloon’ bar. The Saloon bar was the smarter of the two, often with carpet on the floor, slightly nicer material on seats/benches, and even curtains. The public bar was ‘spit n sawdust’. The saloon bar usually charged more for a pint, as much as 1-2p more. But in essence the word comes from the French word ‘salon’ - a sitting room or lounge, which is why it was used for the smarter part of the bar but also larger, smarter and more specious cars.👍

    Not having a single button to switch between custom (user defined) and sport is dumb. They need to add that in a software update. One button, one click. I don’t want to have to navigate through screens. Ideally that button would be on the steering wheel but it’s too late for that.
    Also I agree about the key fob. It needs buttons. I mean most of the time I just use keyless entry but sometimes I need the buttons e.g. my partner is trying to get into the car and I’m still locking the front door, I can just click the button and she can get into the car. Seems cheap to remove the buttons. Also a new key fob makes the whole experience of owning the car nicer. I have an Audi and I like the key fob. It’s solid with metal parts and feels appropriate given the quality of the car. That fob that you showed us looked like a brick of plastic.
    Apart from those complaints though, that car looks fantastic. Good work polestar.

Thepolestar 3 will also be manufactured in California and the polestar 5 is being developed in the UK with lotus collaboration on the chassis and all the impressive driving dynamics they’re renowned for. So whilst Geely are Chinese, the entire dna from design to development is entirely polestar and then built up in China. • @JeremyLawrence-imajez
      @JeremyLawrence-imajez 26 дней назад

      Yup, that was my thought exactly after testing one. You can't quickly glance in mirror, you have to look and consciously refocus, which doesn't sound like much, but it is jarring and feels/is markedly slower. To make things worse the mirror feels much closer to you than normal which exacerbates the issue if you are long sighted. The mirror in our Enyaq is significantly further away.

    The P2 is a great EV for the money. But when the P3 and P4 aren't stand out good, but rather, just something above mediocre, but with weird quirks, and cost way way more than the P2... well. That's not good PoleStar. This emerging brand needs to do better I think. They need to stand out in other ways than just being quirky and having vegan interior. The P2 did that allright, by being good value, good design, and now in the newest iteration, top class range and efficiency too. One thing that doesn't bode well for them though, I think, is that they seem to not intend to update their cars, but rather instead, make a new number for each car. I think instead actually, it would be a lot smarter to have one number for each class of car. 3 for SUV, 6 for large sedan, etc. And then not be afraid to completely re-iterate what cars sits beneath that number-designation. That way, they could correct things if the market turns out to dislike one of their models, for example if they do that with this one due to the missing rear window.

  • @bftb

No, give me a knob or a button that I can find without taking my eyes off the road. Yeah, all this new technology and unusual design features are really annoying. Impossible to get used to in the first 15 minutes, should be immediate. Why would they do this? Tech is new so obviously unnecessary since other cars I know work fine. The cameras are definitely bound to malfunction when the weather changes because that’s what cameras don’t do in other cars, vans, trucks that use cameras since many years.

    • @1meen1
      @1meen1 2 месяца назад

      Do actual research. The point of them removing it was because the design of the car. Incorporating a swooping healine meant that the rear window would've been small. You can kinda see that when he removes the trunk panel from the rear headrests, it's where a window would've went. There's also the complaints of poor rear visibility such as in the Mach E. The instead put in more rear seat headroom and leg room. It's a neat idea to a minor nitpick, not to mention if you driven a van or a truck before then at least you get a digital mirror.

    It's on the same platform as the upcoming Lotus Emeya. The Polestar 4 has been programmed to not be as sporty in order not to cannibalize the more costly Emeya, IMHO. It's the reason why the Polestar's are not as sporty as they could be. Geely is reserving that for Lotus. A mistake in my opinion because it's only a matter of time for the aftermarket to reprogram the Polestar 4 into an Emeya, and the inclusion of heavy EV's have corrupted the Lotus brand.
