Triple SEAL RESCUE

  • Celebrating Earth Day in style: Namib_Naude and Antoine from Ocean Conservation Namibia (OCN) went to the Skeleton Coast near Walvis Bay and Swakopmund to fight the consequences of plastic pollution and ocean rubbish.
Within one hour, they successfully caught and released three little seals who had been victims of careless human behavior. Fishing line and fishing nets are regularly found on Namibia's beaches and Pelican Point and lead to unnecessary animal cruelty when seals get entangled in discarded plastic.
Luckily Naude Dreyer and his team were close and could release the seals from painful obstruction and eventually certain death. 🦭

Is Antoine your employee? Just curious how he got started with you since I don't remember seeing him in your older videos! :)

Antoine is a volunteer. He is part of the Sea Shepherd, but he us stranded in Namibia at the moment because of the world wide lock down. As soon as international travel allows, he needs to get back to his ship. I am glad he is here at the moment - many of the bigger seals can only be caught by two people.

איזה כלבי ים חמודים. אתם באמת צריכים להיות אנשים מאושרים מאד שאתם זוכים לתפוס ולהציל אותם.
