between 1:10 and 1:13 , is antoine the same distance away from the seals? i always wonder how far they really are away because wide angle lense distorts that information too much.
I figured out why I love watching these videos. Here are the key elements: * The suspense and curiosity of scoping a large group of seals to see which one to target. * The thrill of a chase and capturing a target animal often right before it makes it to the water. * Identifying the type of entanglement and deciding how best to remove it (tools, angles, net, zippers). * The actual surgery of removing the entanglement, including who performs the operation and how they do and how bad the injury is. * The satisfaction of watching the seal be freed and knowing we accomplished what we set out to do. * RUclips then presenting a new video for me to watch and repeat the process.
I don't know how I missed this video. I've been watching all your videos! So much work goes into this. You both are truly special and we are fortunate to have people like you in this world. Thank for motivating others to help improve our Earth!
One year on Naude and already you and the OCN Team have done more than 500 seal rescues in 2021! That is a crazy number but I know snd appreciate, that you and the Team will do many, many more before the year is done.
Have watched nearly every one of your videos and continue to be in awe and so grateful you guys are there to help these innocent creatures. What a great healer, the ocean - the salt water washes over and rinses the wounds, providing continuous natural healing!
I love you guys and what you do. Y’all have such big hearts and we need more people like you in this world! Plus watching y’all run on the shore to help save these seals is very exciting....great muscles and the best legs I have seen in a very long time.! 👍🏻😉🤣
I think one day they will allow you to help them with less of a fight. Hopefully. Maybe 🤞one day. They’ll talk “seal” amongst themselves and say “go see those two weird looking things on the land, they will help you.” Lol Thank you a million times for doing what you do!
You guys do amazing work! We need more wildlife warriors like yourself to help our animals deal with the extraordinary mess we leave behind as humans...
These videos are so satisfying to watch. Has me thinking about purchases I make before I make them - thinking a lot more about what it is and where the packaging may end up
Great video for people who want an introduction to the channel and the work. Promote the ways people can donate on other platforms. Consider doing a livestream.

The first seal looked as frustrated as someone shouting at service people "I will report this to your superior officer/ supervisor" 😂😂😂. You guys are doing great work 🙂
True heroes... These seals are God's creations just as we are... To have the heart of compassion for them is to understand the heart of God... God bless you and your families.
How did you guys get together to start this effort? Where are the pup’s mothers? Do they give birth in this area too? Have y’all been bitten? Sorry for so many questions. I’m new to your channel. And I love it!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️👍👍👍👍👍
So nice person you , The world is changing I am feeling Only because of you are working as human beings. Usually we have thinking there is no humanity remaining, But it still in your work.
Have you ever considered using a drone to identify entangled seals? You could probably keep it high enough that it doesn’t cause them to scatter while getting a much better look at the seals in the middle of the pack. It might be worth a try to see whether it’s more productive than scoping things out from ground level with binoculars. Ya’ll do an amazing Kobe freeing these seals and extending the lifespan and life quality of these precious creatures. God bless all of you. 🙏🏻❤️
It would be nice if after working with the pod for a while that the entangled seals would just start voluntarily coming to you. "Hey buddy, can you help me out with this?"
After founding your channel, I have watched almost all the videos. Hats off guys!! You are awesome!! And this video is really special. As we got a chance to know how you do the whole procedure. It's great!! World could be a much better place for people like you. ❤️
love also the review process in the end! this is so important for many things, but many people just do their job and forget about it (what isnt bad, but things can be improved always)
Sprays or ointments would immediately be washed off when the seal enters the water. Sea water is an excellent antiseptic and it heals their wounds very quickly. We are trying to raise the funds necessary to create a seal hospital for the worst cases. There are no animal rehabilitation facilities here in Namibia.

Thank you very much for supporting our work!

Do you need to build observational deck like lifeguards to see them? Will it help?
Have you ever taken a seal to get medical help if their injuries are too severe?

They may not know now what you have done for them, but maybe in the afterlife you will be loved by MANY, MANY Seal souls.
We can't wait :-)
Thank you on behalf of the seals 🙌🏼🦸🏼

I'm so glad I found this wholesome channel. Thank you for volunteering your time to help these beautiful creatures.
You are so kind
It's heartbreaking to see how deeply some of the lines dig into their flesh. I can't imagine the pain the worst cases must be in.
Every single move hurts.
Thank you for doing this! I hope someday your help won’t be needed.
That's the hope - but right now, it's still a huge problem. We patrol the beaches almost every day, and there are new cases all the time.
namib_naude pretty depressing to hear.
namib_naude good to hear you are doing something 😀
Well put! ;)
As long as there are humans, no way.

I love binging yalls videos! Seeing you guys rescue these sea pups make my day 😁💙
So glad! We will send more videos soon.
Appreciate you and all you do!!!!!!!
Thank you for watching our videos. Very appreciated.
Have you guys considered drones for spotting? Maybe too loud to use up close, but good camera at range? Help corralling perhaps?
I think its illegal to fly drones close to animals.
@@canary6215 I think if they even have laws related to drones and on top of that, if that's followed. Anyways, you need an extra guy to do that
Pelican Point is in a national park and we would need a permit for that. We are actually trying to raise funds to buy one.
You guys are doing great work....
Thank you so much
Thank you guys👍
Heroes...absolute heroes💪

We met at the CrossFit box. The mothers are with their pups. They do give birth here. Yes, a few times!
Good people should be rewarded in ways that are unmentionable 👍
😊
For me you are heros! 👍🤙

It would be nice if after working with the pod for a while that the entangled seals would just start voluntarily coming to you. "Hey buddy, can you help me out with this?"
These are wild animals and although people would like them to act like pets, they will remain wild, especially on land, which is not their element.
Respect
Thank you. Appreciated.
I like when these guys chase them. 😄😄😄

😊 Thank you, we appreciate it a lot 😊
I just love these nets. It would be great if America used them, love the zipper you use to get to the seal and they are such a easy release.
It was manufactured in the States somewhere. Somebody donated it to us from Washington.
U channel are awesome.
how about using a drone to better find one? forgive if this has already been suggested. great thing you're doing thank you.
We are trying to raise the money to buy one.
Thank you!
You're welcome!
Corta o coração de ver aonde vai a maldade humana!!!! JESUS abençoe o trabalho de vocês!!!! Beijos
Muito obrigado!
Parabéns Deus abençoe vocês.

Great work. Are there any sprays you could use after removing the stuff to help avoid infections?
Sprays or ointments would immediately be washed off when the seal enters the water. Sea water is an excellent antiseptic and it heals their wounds very quickly. We are trying to raise the funds necessary to create a seal hospital for the worst cases. There are no animal rehabilitation facilities here in Namibia.
Step 5.5: Fill the traffic cone. Get the seal far into the end of the net so it is properly muzzled and the entanglement is easy to access by zipper.
These seals need a language interpreter, sad that they do not understand the help being done but happy they were helped 👍🏽😁
Would be great if we could somehow communicate with them.
