Have you ever taken a seal to get medical help if their injuries are too severe?

between 1:10 and 1:13 , is antoine the same distance away from the seals?
i always wonder how far they really are away because wide angle lense distorts that information too much.

I figured out why I love watching these videos. Here are the key elements:
    * The suspense and curiosity of scoping a large group of seals to see which one to target.
    * The thrill of a chase and capturing a target animal often right before it makes it to the water.
    * Identifying the type of entanglement and deciding how best to remove it (tools, angles, net, zippers).
    * The actual surgery of removing the entanglement, including who performs the operation and how they do and how bad the injury is.
    * The satisfaction of watching the seal be freed and knowing we accomplished what we set out to do.
    * RUclips then presenting a new video for me to watch and repeat the process.

Have you ever considered using a drone to identify entangled seals? You could probably keep it high enough that it doesn’t cause them to scatter while getting a much better look at the seals in the middle of the pack. It might be worth a try to see whether it’s more productive than scoping things out from ground level with binoculars.
Ya’ll do an amazing Kobe freeing these seals and extending the lifespan and life quality of these precious creatures. God bless all of you. 🙏🏻❤️

  • @brussell639

It would be nice if after working with the pod for a while that the entangled seals would just start voluntarily coming to you. "Hey buddy, can you help me out with this?"

Sprays or ointments would immediately be washed off when the seal enters the water. Sea water is an excellent antiseptic and it heals their wounds very quickly. We are trying to raise the funds necessary to create a seal hospital for the worst cases. There are no animal rehabilitation facilities here in Namibia.
