- Powder painting jig heads is nothing new. I've made a few videos showing how I've been powder painting jigs and other lead weights. In this video I show you how to make a simple fluid bed, and how to use it. I also show a couple of other methods, including one that you have never seen.

I speak for most of us to say we want to see the vibration build.
Yes we want to see the vibration table build. Looks great.
I had to call my wife over when you broke out the white board. She's a big fan!
From a retired Organic Chemist to Engineer Fisherman: Enjoyed the mathematical exercise! Don't see that on RUclips much. God bless!
Glad you enjoyed it!
sweet vid! what ive learned over time is that the more simple and cheap the fluid bed, the better it works lol
Amazing video. Will be building one exactly as yours is. Love the ability to switch colors so easily.
Thanks!
Awesome, thank you!
Definitely wanna see how you build that. That’s really cool.
Love the math. Nice to see someone who knows how to figure things out.
Good to hear from a fellow nerd....
WOW what a clever set of ideas !! You really get great enjoyment from these creations ...
and we get such great ideas and enjoyment too :-)
Thank you, Ted & Rosie - Downunder
Thanks so much...
Yes, yes, yes. Please show the vibration bed build. I built 2 fluid beds already using a fish tank air pump. It works well, but I do have the volcano effect with the powder every now and then. I also get a fine mist of powder that comes off of it and coats everything on my table. I also need to wear a mask when powder painting. Want to avoid all that if possible. Now that we are in this stay at home phase, I got all the time in the world to do it.
I did a video with the vibe table build...hope it helps.

Just built your fluid bed with the fan. It works great, thanks for sharing your invention. I had good luck bringing the hook shaft in contact with the edge of the jar right after dipping and it shakes all the excess off quickly. then a quick reheat and got near perfect results.
Excellent!
Awesome stuff!!
Quite ingenious EA.
Very informative!
I'm pretty sure all of us would like to see the vibration table build!!!
Very well done!! I join with others in wanting to see the vibration table build. Thanks!
thank you...here's the video of the Vib. Table build. Cheers
ruclips.net/video/Gh9WWEmkEUc/видео.html
yes want to see the build
Agreed
I would like to see how you made the vibration table.
I would like to see Pro-Tec Jigs and Lures Powder Paint
Use in a lure
I like that vibrating table. I may have to copy-cat that. 😉 I've been just shaking the jar up after about 6 or 8 dips but why do something manually that can be automated?
First! 😂 I was intrigued when you said 3 methods, because I only knew of two, love to see the plans on the vibration contraption ;)
You should use shrink wrap on hook eyes to keep them clean.
as all ways ill have to give this won a try i have a old cass tumbler it mite just do the job thanks as all ways theres won thing i do need and that is a wood copping jig for my wooden lures i do have a wood taner but no way to copping them thanks
Franco, I am a big fan of your RUclips channel. I love everything about fishing. But as a DIY “gadgeteer” I love combining my love of fishing with lure making among other fishing or shop related creations. You are great at communicating the thought, or logic process as well as the creative. Please do a vlog on the vibrating powder paint gadget. Happy fishing from “Poppy”!
Thank you...I'll have to the vlog idea some thought.
Subscribed very interested on that last method
WELL... something else I have to add to the list of things to try now. :)
Was wondering about the video on the crank bait painting 101. Couldn’t find it. You had mentioned using polycrylic to spray mid coat. What is the ratio water to poly?? Thanks for your time love the videos.
I thin it 15% by volume with water for the airbrush. You can probably spray it straight with a conventional spray gun.
Would love to see how it’s made.
Excelente video , me puedes decir donde puedo comprar o conseguir el Shad Screwloc jig head mold ?
La verdad es que no se...
As an electrical engineer, I love these videos.
nice machines! Personaly for a quick colors i deep my jig heads in hot soft plastic, it hold prety well and it is so simple. There is an other technique that i have'nt tryed using plastic in acetone to melt it, prety diy technique, i will let you know if it works ;).
I've done the acetone trick...it works but leave a dull finish, could be the humidity here though....
Yep....... do the build........... and the yellow paint is more orange for me too...........have you tried mixing different color powders to change the hue?
How about using a speaker as a vibrating device on the vibration table like the one that is in a ultrasound cleaner?
I don't think that would be easy to make work...adjusting the frequency and amplitude would a a challenge.
Echt gut präsentiert, bei meinem Fluidbed, blubbert es konstant.
How this turn to a intro to calculus course??
Great stuff!!! Really enjoying you videos, love your approach to things - so practical! Amazing what you can find in the plumbing department - latest plumbing project was to turn two fence-poles into a 5 to 12 foot telescoping bird-feeder pole.
how do prevent the bait for blocking the eye? or what do you do to clear it?
Thanks for the vid!!!
Using a fluid bed helps to keep the powder paint from filling the details like the eye sockets. You just have to be careful to put on a light coat. As far as the hook eye, I clear out the paint with split ring pliers.
Engineered Angler awesome thanks for the tips!!! Have a good one
Nice video, gonna try for sure! I cannot find the set of 15- 2oz powder coat jars? Where did you get?
Oh man...it has been a while since I got them...search for 2oz wide mouth round jars.
where is the best place to get different colors of powder paint for a deal? i see harbor fright only has black and white
You would have to go to a large volume distributor. It's a shame that harbor freight stopped carrying more colors. Or you can try these folks: Welch Lure colors: amzn.to/31hSmKz
If I powder coat, say a white base paint, and then airbrush highlights, can I top coat with UV resin? Will the resin adhere okay?
Yes... that's what I do.
Awesome, thanks. Enjoy your videos and information.
Hey man I don’t do the jig heads yet but I just wanted to drop a comment and give you a huge thank you for your videos it has put me in a better position to make great baits I have purchased the China version of the uv clear and its so much better than thirty min epoxy, And countless other small tips and tricks you have turned me onto! I’m having to let them set up for a day to let the uv clear to not be tacky but it’s head and shoulders better than the thirty min I was using!!! Keep the videos coming
Thank you so much...I really appreciate the positive feedback. Anything you can do to help me get the word out to help build the channel would be great .
please make the vibrating table video. thanks
ruclips.net/video/Gh9WWEmkEUc/видео.html
Vibration table build video please !!!
Do you have any video using powder paint Airbrush guns?
No.. sorry.
Are you going to be a video on the vibrating fluid bed?
Already did, here you go: ruclips.net/video/Gh9WWEmkEUc/видео.html
Where did you get your other colored powder paint
I bought red yellow white and black from Harbor Freight but they stopped selling them.
do we want to watch a build of something none of us need but would build to "one day going to use it" pretty safe bet its going to be a unanimous yes 😆
Did you make the vibrate one video
Yes...here's a link: ruclips.net/video/Gh9WWEmkEUc/видео.html
Why doesn't harbor freight sell the different colors of powder anymore? Only white and black?
I didn't know that. ..did you check on line?
Yes only black and white for me..
😝
Please add the build sir!!!
Hi, Is this powder paint a polyester pain.
It is powder paint, but most powder paints are made of polyester
@@EngineeredAngler Thank you
Can you mix the colors

Que bien, me alegro oir lo ...Gracias.
La próxima visita a España quiero llevar una vara de pesca y unos señuelos...
Build it and they will come.
Isn't this dangerous? lead fumes are highly toxic?
There are no fumes in this process. The lead is never melted.
That’s a lot of math for something so simple
Ever hear of Spraying Powder Paint?
Yes, takes a special gun and electrical power supply and you have do in a sealed booth...too mush trouble.
I want to paint my jig but I dont do math.
