As a Leeds supporter for 54 years I have always had a soft spot for Newcastle I come from a small mining village me being half scotch and all my friends being geordies they are such wonderful folk the geordies really hope they do well and win big,,
I was a Leeds supporter along with my brother when we lived at Doncaster when we were kids in the 60,s but moved back up north when my grandfather died, always had a soft spot for them. Now a geordie but always look out for the Leeds results. 😊
@ Why is that relevant when specifically talking about their away support and how loud they are at away grounds? Plenty of clubs, even smaller clubs can sell out a 3,000 away allocation, but not many of them sing constantly for 90 minutes whether they are winning, losing or drawing.
I’m a real fan , season ticket holder . He’s done a good job but I wouldn’t keep him long term . Give him to the end of season , then thank you and bye bye . IF there is an alternative replacement
They are just as true fans as any. Howe did an amazing job in his first couple of seasons but the way he overworked the players and threw away Europe was unforgivable. This season they've won when they've played terrible (for example Southampton, Wolves, etc etc). In a way that's a good thing, because points on the board is all that matters, but the wheels come off eventually
Sir John Hall a great man, he put Newcastle United on the international stage and we came so close to winning the Premier league under him, he is and always will be held in the highest regard by all the Newcastle fans
He's out of his depth in every argument. Newcastle haven't flatlined at all this season - ask any toon fan and we'd say we should have had a few better results, but we haven't turned up at times and you pay for that when the opposition do turn up - we are where we are with the squad we have and we'll see at the end of the season if it's good enough (and by that it probably means some kind of european football otherwise we'll lose some of our top talent)
Sir John's summary was spot on - mostly good things happening at the club but they need to bridge that communication gap that's been evident since Amanda left. It's important the fans feel the club cares about them.
Nah, sorry but you guys are so wrong here. Simon Jorden is not on our side. He is coping that Newcastle will remain a mid table club that can't increase our revenue because he does not want to see us at the top. The way he's putting it here is hard to tell, but he's not on our side at all. I understand where you're coming from. From a certain point of view it does look as though he feels sorry for us that we can't spend big and that the prem is holding us back on purpose. But the reality is at least Imo it's stuff he's telling himself so that he does not have to come to the realization that we will one day challenge for the big titles, a place he most certainly does not want to see us.
Fair play to simon it's anti competitive nonsense. Newcastle don't need protection from their owners. John nailed it ...get rid if this them and us drivel.. every fan and every club is the same.
I bumped into Sir John Hall last week in a Chemist at Low Fell, I didn't know him personally but we had a good little chinwag, what a smashing down to earth fella.
Love the way an absolute legend is just casually getting his prescription at 90 odd. What a bloke, if I can be as cogent and compos mentis as he is at that age I'll be very grateful.
It’s only the media who create all this. Everyone in newcastle is more than happy. Everyone who’s had season tickets the last 3 seasons have had their moneys worth of effort out the players.
If you had the Toon Review watch along on, there were a few melts on about Eddie out at half time. The volume of halfwits out there is incredible. There was even a total plum on Craig Hope’s last post arguing with me that the club should have kept Wood instead of getting Gordon.
The Howe out thing is a nonsense. A small % of fans amplified by social media have been taken as some kind of majority. But i would ask, why cant a fan ask for answers to difficult question from the manager without it being a sign they want him gone. Howes a great manager and im in no rush to see him gone. But surely you dont just have to blindly accept everything? Isnt that debate and questioning part of what makes us love the game?
Great comment mate. I love Howe, and simply questioning things (team selection, tactical substitutions etc) doesn’t mean I want him out. It’s NOT inconsistent to ask such questions AND support the manager.
I’ve got no problem with Eddie Howe being in charge of us. I think he has time in the bank so I’m not too concerned about it. Every club has questions over their manager when results aren’t brilliant or question a team selection or formation etc, it happens every week but the support for Eddie Howe home or away is unwavering. As for the PSR and FFP restrictions it is anti competitive, we knew that as soon as the ink was drying on the sale of shares contracts and new rules were put in place. They weren’t called “Newcastle rules” by the premier league for nothing
Boro fan here , Eddie howes a marvellous coach champo league first season and the league are stopping ya buying players . Not many better managers out there than Howe in my opinion

How does anyone compete with man city - How can any club grow from the lower leagues make it to the pinnacle of british football and compete. Were seeing a trend of promoted teams going down atm and this non sense using leicester as an example is dumb. Leicesters win was an anomaly not the rule. It's insane to me that there seems to be a near complete denile that the cartel exists in the PL , I new stuff like this would happen after how long it took the PL to approve newcastles take over. Richest club in the world but can't spend any money meanwhile Man city can sell there subs for 80m+ How can anyone compete with that who wasn't already established before the (don't be as good as the cartel) rules came in place And everyone knows who they are cause they were the same teams pushing for the European super League ( a competition that wasn't really a competition cause they could just stay because reasons??? ) and one currently has 115 charges that will likely get brushed under the carpet
Well said. The rules only support a pre-existing cartel. It’s been shown in a court of law on multiple occasions now that the league is being bent to the will of 6 clubs. 6 clubs that you could be forgiven for think we’re the only clubs in the league if you only read sky sports news. It’s not a competition if you can only buy your way to the top and it’s not a competition if 6 clubs hold all the power.

Keown is not just missing the mark but he is absolutely delusional in his analysis here. 1. We lost to Brighton, watch the game, it was a very poor performance by Brighton and aided by a horrific ref performance 2. We lost the game to Chelsea and it was close, then literally won the next game 3. Last season there were a load of injuries to areas that would have crippled any team but our squad still didn't do poorly. We hadn't Pope, Botman, Lascelles, Targett and Tonali from the suspension. Also Wilson is made of glass so he was out a good bit and Isak had a lot more pressure to play every game so also had a few niggles so we had to play Gordon as striker. AND still we finished higher than Man Utd while spending less than them for decades and could have gotten conference league but only missed out because Man Utd beat Man City in the cup 4. This season we are still without Botman and Wilson which has a pretty big effect on where we could finish but still are 1 point off 3rd with spending only on Osula and a bunch of youngsters in the summer 5. We even though we have finished multiple times ahead of where stupid pundits like Martin have suggested we would finish every season since the takeover while spending significantly less because of PSR like Chelsea spent more than the entire cost of Newcastle and every transfer that had taken place since takeover and they are let's be real here 1 point ahead of us in the table without our starting CB all season so far Martin is stealing a living with takes like this, there is being a shock jock and saying unpopular opinions and being right a lot of the time like Keane does and then there is just saying absolute nonsense like Martin has here.
Kewon is in the privy council of Richard Master on how to stop Newcastle from challenging the Red cartel , last year we had lots of injuries and can’t get players because trillions of pounds not enough to Master and his clunies in the privy council, Martin You need to read basic maths before you write a book about shenanigans, we will catch you and we leave you behind with binoculars designed to see black and white upwards only 😢😢 get grip man do the right thing!! Oh are you still hair modelling for Vidal Sassoon😅
Again... Martin, when EEEEddie came in the club was 19th.... 2nd bottom. Simon nailed it... PSR was brought into the PL to fix a problem they didnt have.
It's rigged for sure. If our owners decide to sell up because they're not allowed to spend in their own business I will cancel all my subscriptions to watch any of the Premier league.
very valid points, other teams previously werent put in a financial straight jacket like NUFC and other clubs are now, so its going to be a struggle to get near the man citys of this world without the rules on PSR being looked at again...Eddie is adored by the fans, hes doing wonders.
SIMON thank you so much for your Honesty and 100 FACTS well said A group of the world richest men and we have to prove sustainability as if we going to be bankrupt over 3 transfers MENTAL Newcastle need to take FA to court over this IT IS HARM end of day to there business FACT
Nice to hear a non toon fan pointing up the inequity of PSR. Flatlining? No. I think there was a flattening sure. But not failing. There was a sense of disappointment with the summer transfers but that’s passed now. To the extent that the general feeling is we don’t need mark Guehi anymore. Priorities now move to striker and right sided attacker.
I feel the media constantly make up this shite about fans being unhappy with Eddie, let's be very clear here what Eddie has done is fecking amazing and we love him as a person and a manager, The reality is we are shackled by this ridiculous law that protects the red cartel and ensure they have a major advantage over all teams and will be for years to come, however the fact that we are already challenging for that top 4 again just shows how good eddie is!!!
Spot on Simon, the current rules just keep the top 6 at the top. Football has only properly been around for 150 years out of all of human history and could be around for the next 10,000 years. Every club should have the opportunity to make it big
@ no they haven’t, last window doesn’t f all, window before f all. It’s all relative. Arsenal have spent 800 in last 4 seasons, Chelsea a billion, Man Utd close to a billion, last window Newcastle were one of the lowest spenders due to PSR. Do some research first
Simon and his gatekeeper rubbish. Gate keeper for who? Klopp, pep, mourinho, pochetinho? Theyre all finished at the top level. Eddie is the future man. Get a grip.
The PSR situation is a complete joke, it was obvious to me that because the PL couldn’t stop the takeover, they had to come up with something else that would halt their developement. NUFC weren’t one of the clubs who tried to break away from the PL, so why punish them. And if you look at the fan base, are they not the best in the world. Which fans were picking up their rubbish in Trafalgar Square during the Carabeou Cup final? Newcastle fans were. Which fans were praised for their behavior during the CL match at Dortmund’s? Newcastle fans. To the PL, stop trying to prevent Newcastle United being a top club and being a top asset for PL.
so I guess they're asking in a roundabout way "with all that money, will Newcastle eventually win the Premier league"... errr, is Nick Pope a Catholic???
Will never understand how Keown is given any airtime at all! He throws his dummy out of the pram like the big baby he is whenever anyone has a negative comment to make about serial bottlers Arsenal. Get him off and put somebody in there who has an inkling of what they are talking about!
Martin is a very bitter man. He knows there is a changing of the guard and it's very likely that in a few years Newcastle will have replaced Arsenal in that top 4
Really hope Newcastle keep being Newcastle and flatter to deceive. Huge expenditure and it really in a better position than when Mike Ashley was where. Will probably finish anywhere between 7th and 14th, won't win a cup, and the fans will be happy because they remember beating PSG 4-1 and moaning about injuries last year. That is as good as it gets up there.
A gatekeeper is generally a term referring to quality control of a model in place to make sure the correct person gets the Job. I don't think that will be Eddie's job in this sense.
My Uncle Bert was a Lock keeper who opened and closed lock gates, managed bookings, performed maintenance, and advised waterway users. He, also, cleared weeds and rubbish from the lock, and opens relief sluices in bad weather...
Newcastle? No domestic Trophy since around 1955 and just he UEFA Cup in 1969 and yet all through the 1970s/1980s and beyond fantastic away support. Eddie Howe, a great English Football Guy. I would LOVE to see them FINALLY win a Trophy.
Why didn't Newcastle jus do what Arsenal did and get over £240 million off the owner and that moneys not counted towards anything!! Total scam!! Man U owe £1 billion!! Make it make sense!!!
Best thing talksport could do is sack off Martin keown, he’s absolutely tragic to listen to, Simon has his life every week and he comes out with some utter garbage

All the more reason to like him. Come to my former street in South East London which, reluctantly,I left 41 years ago in 1983 after 5 previous generations of my family lived there. Also Wilson is made of glass so he was out a good bit and Isak had a lot more pressure to play every game so also had a few niggles so we had to play Gordon as striker. AND still we finished higher than Man Utd while spending less than them for decades and could have gotten conference league but only missed out because Man Utd beat Man City in the cup
4. This season we are still without Botman and Wilson which has a pretty big effect on where we could finish but still are 1 point off 3rd with spending only on Osula and a bunch of youngsters in the summer
5. We even though we have finished multiple times ahead of where stupid pundits like Martin have suggested we would finish every season since the takeover while spending significantly less because of PSR like Chelsea spent more than the entire cost of Newcastle and every transfer that had taken place since takeover and they are let's be real here 1 point ahead of us in the table without our starting CB all season so far
Martin is stealing a living with takes like this, there is being a shock jock and saying unpopular opinions and being right a lot of the time like Keane does and then there is just saying absolute nonsense like Martin has here.
Sir Simon = Top LAD Proper Clobber 💯 Facts
It's rigged for sure. If our owners decide to sell up because they're not allowed to spend in their own business I will cancel all my subscriptions to watch any of the Premier league.
Simon says hello to Martin one day...
TALKSPORT.... Huge clash as 2 football titans come almost to blows 😆
Simon and Jim smirking and smiling at Martin when he won't look up during the debate. They knew that Simon had him pinned.......
very valid points, other teams previously werent put in a financial straight jacket like NUFC and other clubs are now, so its going to be a struggle to get near the man citys of this world without the rules on PSR being looked at again...Eddie is adored by the fans, hes doing wonders.
Of course Newcastle flat lined we had to sell are two best youngster's, bought no-one of note all because of PSR.
Is Keown filling in a Sudoku?
Don't think there's an inability to spend, just a bad window. Every club has them every now and then.
If a club has money, let them spend it
SIMON thank you so much for your Honesty and 100 FACTS well said A group of the world richest men and we have to prove sustainability as if we going to be bankrupt over 3 transfers MENTAL Newcastle need to take FA to court over this IT IS HARM end of day to there business FACT
'Mumerings' are only from u media muppets, proper Geordies back Eddie & dont lose faith after a few defeats like Spurs & Arsenal fans
Jims closing comments were funny af
Nice to hear a non toon fan pointing up the inequity of PSR.
Flatlining? No. I think there was a flattening sure. But not failing. There was a sense of disappointment with the summer transfers but that’s passed now. To the extent that the general feeling is we don’t need mark Guehi anymore. Priorities now move to striker and right sided attacker.
Our away fans are next level even before you consider the sheer distances they teavel. Absolutely class and in a league of their own
@@ninjashrimpgaming2657 😅 what a load of rubbish
I feel the media constantly make up this shite about fans being unhappy with Eddie, let's be very clear here what Eddie has done is fecking amazing and we love him as a person and a manager, The reality is we are shackled by this ridiculous law that protects the red cartel and ensure they have a major advantage over all teams and will be for years to come, however the fact that we are already challenging for that top 4 again just shows how good eddie is!!!
Thank god for the new rules that stops Saudi teams lile Newcastle from buying their way to success. Its huge for the sport
Martin not happy with the Toon still ;-)
Spot on Simon, the current rules just keep the top 6 at the top. Football has only properly been around for 150 years out of all of human history and could be around for the next 10,000 years. Every club should have the opportunity to make it big
Newcastle has been spending big in the last three seasons what are you on about why don’t Eddie Howe coach his team to trophies
@ no they haven’t, last window doesn’t f all, window before f all. It’s all relative. Arsenal have spent 800 in last 4 seasons, Chelsea a billion, Man Utd close to a billion, last window Newcastle were one of the lowest spenders due to PSR. Do some research first
@@Jaxel1926 brilliant response!
No Martin .. we were warming up .. gearing up to .. hmmm Arsenal .. 😂 😂 Howe Way the lads 🖤🤍🖤🤍🖤
Up The Mags 💪🏿💪🏻 EDDIE HOWE’S BLACK & WHITE ARMY 🖤🤍
The howe out thing is mostly man utd fans and Sunderland fans when you check their profiles
Martin Keown is definitely the Lt. Worf of TalkSport.
Keown talks rubbish
2nd from bottom when Eddie arrived not 5th
Simon and his gatekeeper rubbish. Gate keeper for who? Klopp, pep, mourinho, pochetinho? Theyre all finished at the top level. Eddie is the future man. Get a grip.
Nah you gortta have a foreigner who has won The Swiss Super League or Danish Second Division.Progress, innit ! innit?
watching this you know MK is going to add gloom
Martin has a pen with 4 different inks, is he marking a shopping lisr 😂😢😅 jesus that guy is boring.
Eddie howe does brilliant job. This so called spent loads of money where is it.?
so I guess they're asking in a roundabout way "with all that money, will Newcastle eventually win the Premier league"... errr, is Nick Pope a Catholic???
Will never understand how Keown is given any airtime at all! He throws his dummy out of the pram like the big baby he is whenever anyone has a negative comment to make about serial bottlers Arsenal. Get him off and put somebody in there who has an inkling of what they are talking about!
Martin is a very bitter man. He knows there is a changing of the guard and it's very likely that in a few years Newcastle will have replaced Arsenal in that top 4
Lol 😂 only in your mind son
@@leebishop1938God, I hope they don’t replace Arsenal, two clubs choking under pressure would be terrible.
The more I hear from Simon, the more and more I like him.
Eddie is the gatekeeper to the playing staff being on the pitch.
My Uncle Bert was a Lock keeper who opened and closed lock gates, managed bookings, performed maintenance, and advised waterway users. He, also, cleared weeds and rubbish from the lock, and opens relief sluices in bad weather...
@Isleofskye It is in ref to Jordans use of the term gatekeeper in a business sense. I bet Bert was a talented man.
Keowan missing the point about money..hes clueless..its about spending money..they cant...arsenal soent 500m..he hasnt a problem with that..
They arnt any of the "regular" top 6 cause all seem to be able to spend what they like while Newcastle arn`t allowed to.
Eddie Howe's Black and White Army.
THEY WON THREE GOALS TO ONE NOT TWO GOALS TO ONE
We ll miss Dan burn !(injured) love his graft as well tanscity🎉
Keown still got his a***e in his hands after ‘little old Newcastle’ beat the “might Arsenal” 😂😂
Marty is a helmet
Newcastle is the premier League best chance of an English manager winning a trophy be it fa cup , caraboa or something else
Newcastle? No domestic Trophy since around 1955 and just he UEFA Cup in 1969 and yet all through the 1970s/1980s and beyond fantastic away support.
Eddie Howe, a great English Football Guy.
I would LOVE to see them FINALLY win a Trophy.
And I'm bloody glad we're not Arsenal. HWTL
Keowen just giving a history lesson no substance
Keown just saps any positivity from every room he enters…
Why didn't Newcastle jus do what Arsenal did and get over £240 million off the owner and that moneys not counted towards anything!! Total scam!! Man U owe £1 billion!! Make it make sense!!!
Simon Jordan hates british coaches. Doesn't think one will ever win a trophy
They won 3.1 not 2.1
Best thing talksport could do is sack off Martin keown, he’s absolutely tragic to listen to, Simon has his life every week and he comes out with some utter garbage
Arsenal fan here. Always liked Newcastle, always liked geordies, always like Eddie Howe. I know we’ve had a bit of niggle last couple years but wouldn’t begrudge them having major success
Eddie Howe is class, and is no gatekeeper.Give him the players, and he will deliver. Speaking of gatekeepers,Simon is only keeping that seat warm, until Gary Lineker is finished on ‘match of the day’😬🤪
As you may know The Lineker is not having his MOTD contract extended at the end of this season,it was announced today.
3 years is a long time to be a gatekeeper
He literally cannot say anything positive about the toon can he
No time for Sir John anymore…not after donating to the Reform conmen
I’m sure he’s devastated to hear that Chris…. 🔔 🔚
No time for him because he has a different opinion to you. Welcome to 2024 people.
Did he now? Well he has just gone even further up in my estimations
Do some study, don't listen to the MSM
@@keitholiver6152 don’t listen to MSM, do some study are the words of the already brainwashed
All the more reason to like him. Come to my former street in South East London which, reluctantly,I left 41 years ago in 1983 after 5 previous generations of my family lived there. When I grew up in the 1960's it was similar to Newcasrle in that 99$ of pupils were White British or Irish. Now it is FIVE percent, replicated all over Inner London and, many Outer London Suburbs too and it was extremely safe and a great Community until near the end of my 29 years there just 2 miles from Brixton and Peckham.
NOW? There has not been a murder and stabbings there since............YESTERDAY. East Street, Walworth, London S E 17.
Martin Keown....... shut up lad
Alledged gate keeper has arsenal's number 😂 moron of a pundit hahha. Might watch that Gordon cross for the 200th time
Known 🥱🥱🥱
Keown
Newcastle is a big club but dont win anything, that's is Sad for the fans
Give us time 🖤🤍
Just as well they arent arsenal as they would have lost just like arsenal did at st james park
