The fact that Priti Patel is sitting beside Badenoch tells you all you need to know. She was removed from government for meeting with foreign agents, the Tories sold this country out to foreign interests, not to the highest bidder but actually on the cheap.

That’s bloody rich coming from a Tory talking about the labour budget making a social care black hole for councils when it’s ten Tories over 14 years destroying local authorities. My dad works for a council, in the forestry department, his budget has been cut more than 2/3s every 2 years. His team went from 15 to 3 in 10 years! His job is now on the line because the council can’t keep the forestry department going after further cuts and no longer getting EU funding (which was where most income for agricultural multicultural and forestry departments/groups were coming from). We’re not just destroying councils, we’re destroying the environment by cutting professionals in this field and instead councils have to raise taxes to keep social care going when that burden keeps on growing instead should be part of the wider NHS budget. Councils should providing good enough services, fuelling the youth with incentives (like NCS and youth programs), keeping their communities safe - instead they’re being run into the ground!

The main issue is that it's most likely going to remain this way until the Lid Dems become the official party of opposition after the 2029 general election because the Tories are basically out of good options when it comes to picking a leader.
Prospects for the Tory parties leadership get even worse once you realize that there are still some Tory MP's who still think Boris Johnson can still save the party and lead them to a win at the next general election if he returns in 2 to 3 years time.

He hasn't done anything right yet. Name a thing? Where are his policies (that will work) on immigration? Freezing pensioners this winter? The damage to small business and farms? The energy policies that will add to our bills - most certainly not reduce them. The bloated public sector being awarded unfettered pay increases despite decrease in productivity.

@@jamesgreen1305why should pensioners get winter fuel allowance just because of their age? Mine have an awful lot more disposable income than I do, they just view it as additional spending money on their cruises. You might argue that Labour have set the threshold too low but that's really about it. What about single parent families, they need the payment a whole lot more than the likes of my parents. As for farmers, they voted for Brexit and the sovereignty of Parliament. They can hardly complain about democracy in action just because they are now subject to inheritance tax like the rest of us.
