Always seems like people forget that Liverpool have been fighting for trophies on multiple fronts for the last few years. They'll praise Arsenal to the hills and always have kind things to say on City's behalf, but not so much for the Reds.

      @@evan8654 no. There's too many games. The foreign players in the team have had to play many matches without training because their games requiring 16 hour flights.
      There will be disjointed play as a result. McAllister looks to be suffering the most of anyone. It's why Diaz sometimes does not start after being brilliant, om that case Gakpo is always more rested than he is. There's just too many games and unlike with Klopp, Slot requires the team to be relaxed. It is hoped we will have less injuries. Before we'd play up and down and then concede because we are open and rhen panick even more and concede again. Now, we concede and couldn't be bothered because we will win the game eventually.

  • @nigl2807

    At moment we are top because Slot has been willing to change the tactics in second half of games we are either having issues with or just not getting it done in first half. He is a tactical tweaker (for the good). Lets see how he continues for the next ten week and see if teams "find out" then get found out again

    • @Eldriitch
      @Eldriitch 2 месяца назад +3

      Yeah Slot looks very promising especially if he can find a system that *really* works for Liverpool. On the other hand, I could see a situation where instead of Liverpool looking like they won the league, Man City look like they lost it -- If they can't stabilize without Rodri and can't find the consistency that is synonymous with Guardiola's football, they have to find some other way maintain the point return needed to stay at the top. In that case, Slot doesn't have to get it completely right every time.
      But as with all things we can only wait and see how it plays out.

    • @damedusa5107
      @damedusa5107 2 месяца назад +2

      He’s not really changing tactics much at all in second half. Just more wholesale personal in key positions. It’s a good thing.
      Liverpool and getting a little luck here and there. But they are making their own luck.
      Will be up there at the end.

      @@Eldriitchfor city to comeback from here it will be hard. If they make it to January within touching distance maybe they can save their title shot with a couple of signinings in the middle. That's if they make it.
      I'm saying this because they look a lot like Liverpool 22/23. The usual star players just seem a tad slower and less sharp. It happens with age and maintaining a full 90 of pressing and staying on top of the opposition gets harder and harder every week.

    Regarding the Liverpool haven't played anyone yet theory, our last 4 premier-league games have been Chelsea, Arsenal, Brighton and Villa and we've won 3 and drawn the other. Chelsea can beat anyone on their day and have a really good chance of top 4, Arsenal have been runner's up in the past 2 seasons and were/are a lot of people's choice to win the league, Brighton are an excellent side who are currently in a really good run of form and have just beaten the reigning champions yesterday and Villa who are an excellent side with a great manager. So I would have no hesitation in saying that these are definitely not nobody sides and we've taken 10 points from a possible 12 in the 4 games. We've also beaten Bournemouth who've beaten Arsenal and City, plus Brentford who are a really well managed team and are definitely no walkovers. Also as bad as United have been there's no way they can be as bad when Amorim takes charge and suddenly playing them away could easily turn into a very hard game and we've already been there and gotten the 3 points, and City and Arsenal both have to go there and it's definitely not gonna be as easy as Liverpool made it look. Our only defeat was against a very well organised Forest team who have definitely earned their 3rd place position in the league. So to anyone who still thinks that Liverpool have played no one yet, you either know f-all about football or you're lying through your jealous teeth. Hopefully Slot can do what Paisley done, in terms of the apprentice outdoing the teacher and I'm cautiously optimistic that's gonna be the case. I can see Slot bringing in a ruthless streak, where by with City losing earlier in the day and really needing to win to capitalise on these rare City slip ups that's exactly what we're doing. Hell of a long way to go but I don't think even the most optimistic lfc fan could have hoped for such an unbelievable start to the season.

    • @classiccafe4128
      @classiccafe4128 2 месяца назад +6

      I am the Liverpool fun who thought it would be exactly as it is the moment pre-season finished. What the EPL has not yet understood is that Slot tactics fit the defensive and attacking skillset of the Liverpool players like a glove so much so that Liverpool nolonger need to play well to beat any team. His exploitation of zone 14 using goal scoring 8s and a 9 nullify our former Achilles heal of low blocks, Gravenbruch's press resistance and Macca's game reading nullify the midblock but if you decide to go toe to toe then you have to deal with the pace of Salah in behind which has proved to be challenging for most teams and if you stop all 3 like AC Milan did in the UCL. VVD and Konate on their day can do you on a corner or TAA with a free kick. Liverpool is the most dangerous side in the EPL but most are just blind to this fact in the here and now. I expect this team to hit its pick in december and Jan when Jota and Elliot are added to the attacking options but truely believe the wildcard will be Chiesa in the last few tight games of the season.

      @charlesfinster4893 being a fan of a football team obviously brings downers but it's main attraction is that optimistic feeling that your team is gonna win something big, so if Liverpool fans were optimistic about winning 4 trophies that we ultimately didn't win, so what? A true fan knows that that's what it's all about. I'm in my early 50s so I've seen way more than my fair share of trophies. 6 European cups isn't far off every single club in England put together's total. We dream big because we've done it all before and will again. Not a peep out of you about who you support. Doesn't really matter because they'll be behind Liverpool's success anyway. Add to that they have a quite aged starting XI with Walker, KDB, Gundogan, Kovacic etc. It might be that Pep have run its course at City. Same thing happened at Liverpool with Klopp in the end. We'll see if Liverpool can rotate and save players better more so there's anything left in the tanks towards the last 8 games. I think Slot's more controlling football is better suited for just that. But we'll see. Liverpool were top of the league at Christmas too. It doesn't mean anything at this stage.

    Brighton in 12th! I wonder what they would have said if the video was predicting the PL again after 11 games. The seagulls dominated Liverpool until they fell apart at the end and they played City off the ground. If they don’t make top 6, I’ll be surprised.

      @Leftenant334 2 matchdays ago Forest was in 3rd and like 4 or 5 ago we thought Man City clutched the title after Forest beat Liverpool, a couple of days at 2nd doesn't matter, what matters is consistency. Which I don't think Brighton have that.

    • @Leftenant334
      @Leftenant334 2 месяца назад

      @@Orewastaken Brighton already have a lot of injuries right now, including to the oldest and most experienced members of our squad, which is part of th reason for our home inconsistency against teams like wolves. Nonetheless we have already played the big 6, winning three of those games, drawing at arsenal, and only losing very early in the season to Chelsea and more recently in a tightly contested game to liverpool. Given that many of our players will be soon returning from injury, and indeed players bought in the summer (and scheduled for january; Diego Gomez, messi's mls teammate) will be worked into the squad, I can only see brighton becoming more consistent and resilient as the season continues. Meanwhile villa have had an arguably easier fixture list than brighton, with fewer injuries (If I'm not mistaken), played 4 of the big 6 and beaten none (admittedly played fewer home games) and have a harder fixture list leading into the new year than Brighton, playing Newcastle, chelsea and forest away while Brighton only play midtable and relegation threatened teams until villa themselves on gw19. And when you consider that villa are currently in the champions league and likely to progress to knockout stages, their already evident slump in form is unlikely to get better as injuries stack up and players grow even wearier. Bar a miraculous recruitment in january, I see villa finishing between 8th and 11th, below (currently) stronger teams such as Bournemouth, newcastle, forest, and possibly even west ham.

    • @Leftenant334
      @Leftenant334 2 месяца назад

      Currently the only teams I am fairly confident will finish above Brighton are Liverpool and Arsenal, and 50/50 city if they recruit well in January. Chelsea have been just as inconsistent as brighton if not more, drawing to Palace and Forest at home, however I'd say there is also a good chance they finish above Brighton, leaving us in 4th or 5th, which given the expected performance of English teams in Europe this season, is likely to be champions league qualification either way. I also think brighton are dark horses for the title, given Liverpools lack of squad evolution from last season, Arsenal's similarly unchanged squad and disciplinary issues (as well as vulnerability without odegaard), Chelsea's difficulty in producing a single consistent XI which can gel, City's extended lack of a holding midfielder, and the inconsistency of other teams such as Spurs, United, Villa and Newcastle. Meanwhile Brighton arguably have the best attacking depth in the league, more midfield depth than teams such as Arsenal, Liverpool and City, and have great individual quality all over the pitch and on the bench. The only reason I would say as to why Brighton are unlikely to win the league currently is the fragility their defence has shown, particularly in defending leads against weaker opposition, and our lack of overall defensive depth currently. However if we get through to January with minimal points lost in our upcoming string of matches against the kinds of opposition we have struggled against so far, and recruit a few defenders in January, I seriously wouldn't be surprised by a top 2 finish.

Obviously, the higher the sample, the better the data, but that ratio still holds true. In PL terms, 26.3% of the dataset is already complete. So, statistically, 25% of a dataset is actually pretty reliable, especially when you factor in form from previous seasons.

    Tbh I don't agree that United has been abysmal. Most clean sheets in the league and the defense has looked pretty solid (tied with Arsenal for 4th lowest goals against). The main problems have been the midfield sometimes getting overrun or making sloppy mistakes that lead to goals, and the entire frontline being unable to score a damn goal. If anything, they've been unlucky to be down in 13th. The only games that felt abysmal were the Spurs spanking and the Villa game where the clear objective was just not to lose. lol And let's not forget how a point was stolen by West Ham over that shambolic penalty. With that point back, they'd be joint 11th with the same points total as Spurs and 3 points behind Chelsea in 3rd. It's really not been that horrible despite being the worst start ever.

They both only stood out when last season was coming to a close. Pretty much every one of Palace's opponents already knew they were safe and had very little to play for, so the new manager bounce really took effect against opponents only putting 50 percent effort in. Same with wharton. Well done mate you stood out against a makeshift united midfield that had no chance of top 4 and were thinking more about the fa cup. He's hardly "a baller blood yo innit fam" for having a lot of the ball against a succession of opponent midfielders that didn't want to pick up an injury for the upcoming euros. Their true level has been visible this season.
