I've been a fan since 95 and have seen them live 10 times now, thom solo once, smile once, jonny along with junun once. And one of my favorite things now is watching people react. I'll never get to experience the first time again but i love being able to watch others get into it for their first.
Talk about commitment to the cause! Not sure how you stayed awake during that soporific closing track... It's a beautiful track, but as close as Radiohead will ever get to a lullaby 😂
Sometimes when I see stuff like this i'm reminded how great the bass playing is on all these songs it's almost like you have to see it live to appreciate it.
Man, always mindblowing how much better the slightly different riff makes "Morning Mr Magpie" in this version. Also: "Staircase" should definitely have made it onto the album. Instantly would have made it better.
Lotus Flower as a live experience shakes you to the marrow. A point was made about folks favorite albums….Mine is whatever the last record I’ve listened to which always surprises me as I don’t feel that way about all the other music I listen to. Better, best and not so often is often the frame. It’s a strange phenom-they believe, so I can. This one is so groove oriented. Bass, drums, horns, as frequency counterpoint all with that floating melodic or harmonic vocal depending on the role. Guitars as melodic answers to calls of a heart pulse or as a strange snare emphasis. Tricks of the South African musical tool box that creates infection- South American cumbia of Peru. It’s devastating and elating at times. Again, they create the world for it to exist in and I’m a happy tourist. It rewards with deep listens as there is so much to hang on to and I hear them differently depending on the hook for my hat. Thom is in that rich blue eyed soul of Britain; just a bit twisted. Simple if pulled apart but complex as at times, they seem to be playing different songs to one another. Another level of what Keith often refers to as guitar weaving but everyone seems to have their own unique thread of this musical tapestry. As a side note, give a listen to Bloom as reimagined by Hans Zimmer that they collaborated on for the Planet Earth; Blue Planet series. Probably my favorite version.
There's so many Radiohead fans that hate on The King Of Limbs and I don't know how you could watch this and not love this album. The percussion and rhythm is insane.
I'm so glad you love Radiohead now and watched this session which is dear to my heart. I really like the song you skipped it's one of their many really good to great b-sides I hope you react to it soon.
The song you skipped is called Supercollider hopefully you will react to it some day. I need to give you a list of cool b-sides some of my favorite ones are the Amnesiac b-sides I guess they would be Kid A ones as well since both records were recorded together.
@@deanwolfechannel I'm a very joyful person the first couple of years were bad actually In Rainbows was the album that broke the dam and got me out of shock so I could grieve normally. My daughter just finished grad school and we're so close we will always live together and she reminds me of her mother so much it's like she never left.
Thom's long term partner died in 2016 around when A Moon Shaped Pool came out (they had been separated before that though). The song Daydreaming from that album is the one that most people think was about that.
Hi Dean, I usually skip live performance reactions, but, because I adore Radiohead, I listened to your reaction of a live performance by them. Pretty good, but I still prefer the studio tracks-based on memory and aural expectations. While I enjoyed the live performance, your reaction was entertaining as usual-thanks.
Thank you Dean, always a pleasure watching your videos... I'm sure it's been already suggested to react at some of Thom's solo stuff such as The Eraser or Anima... Or this ruclips.net/video/9CjzVdZcnh0/видео.htmlsi=vdsQDYxcw9zzMSsC 😁
A lot of TV and radio ads for cancer charities feature Radiohead's music. UK, USA, Canada etc after Thom Yorke's ex wife died of the hideous disease. They waive royalties of course.

Always really loved “Staircase”, under-appreciated. I hear a bit of it’s colors & textures in The Smile’s music.

this version of lotus flower should be mandatory viewing in all places of primary and secondary education
This is probably my favorite session as far as the percussion it's insane.

No way, Hans Zimmer, now that's a collab I must hear

thanks for the reaction that was amazing
No prob, it was fun
I love how Thom is physically incapable of playing on the downbeat 😆
😂👍

one of the things I ilke about these basement sessions is what great guys they all are and how it shines through just regular guys in a lot of ways.
Great as always Dean! Thank you so much!
Thanks, My pleasure!

The Allman Brothers used 2 drummers to great effect since the late 60s-early 70s.
Raw yet restoring, like the possible man becoming part of his bride, completing.
