Thank you for this insightful video. From past experience manufacturing HP scanners, I can say the glue used to bond the filter onto the projector may be causing the hard to clean haze you experienced. silicones are notorious for outgassing after use, and cyanoacrilates also cause issues as they cure. I don't know about hot melts, but it is possible this is a source of microscopic residue that ends up on the filter an/or lens.

My one I installed onto this projector was only a £30 one shipped in from Germany that I found a seller on eBay.
But yeah these UV lens filters are far to expensive for a bit of glass, when I was searching I found ones for over £200 which is insane lol..
The ideal solution to this mod would of been to get a square peice of optical glass cut instead of a round UV Filter.
But I could only find square Nd filters around this size and not a clear bit of glass unfortunately.

Seems odd that you wouldn't let the wipes dry and check its clarity before re-installing. Seems more strange though that Yaber seems not to have quality controlled the projector design before releasing it. As for the the filter, does it increase the heat generation inside? or fan noise?

Hi thanks for your comment, yeah I checked the lens plenty of times before gluing it on and it looked crystal clear to the naked eye..
Soon as light shines through it tho it's a whole different story ha ha..
I also found that the glue gives off gasses, so that's what's causing the fogging and misty filter once installed..
No the filter hasn't made any difference to heat management, and the noise of the fan didn't change in any way that I noticed.
Yeah the dust resistance on this K2 was quite bad on this machine compared to the K1 version.

    Hello.
I watched your entire video, and I found it very interesting because I have a projector just like yours, and I've had it for about a month. I have the projector mounted on the wall, positioned 2 meters away from a 2-meter projection screen. However, I'm not getting a screen size larger than 65 inches, no matter how much I adjust it. I've tried various settings, but I can't get it to cover the entire width of the screen.
On another note, I also have an issue with the sharpness adjustment, and I think it might be a flaw in the system itself. Let's see if they fix it in the upcoming updates.
Finally, I would like to know if it's worth buying a lens filter and if it will significantly improve the image quality. If it does, I would consider purchasing one, but I need you to tell me what type of filter would be suitable.
I've saved your video to my favorites in case I need to follow a tutorial to disassemble it and clean the dust. I appreciate your help and congratulate you on the video.

HI mate thanks for your comment do you have this projector the Yaber K2s?
If so the throw ratio on this projector is 1:54:1 meaning you need atleast 3 meters of distance to fill an 80inch screen and considerably more for larger projection.
In order to have a bigger screen providing the Projectors display is set at 100% screen size in the settings you would need to move the projector back further roughly 3 meters or more depending on what screen size your going for..
If you go to this website select your model of projector and it should give you a rough idea of how much space you need to fit your particular screen size.
      www.projectorcentral.com/projection-calculator-pro.cfm
You could also try manually focussing the lens and turning off auto focus, as you may be able to get a sharper image by your own eyes by doing it yourself.
Also, large amounts of keystone correction can affect sharpness levels, ideally you want to use the least amount of keystone possible for the best possible image.
Also, with this UV lens modification this doesn't improve image clarity or picture just by adding the filter but overtime it can..
It mainly just keeps dust from being dragged into the projector when the lens is focussing..
And just generally being statically sucked into the projector when the projector being used overtime..
Because dust entering the LCD chamber causes black spots which is dust landing on the LCD screen.
With this modification it just reduces the dust from entering the machine which ultimately leads to a clearer picture for longer because you have less dust entering the machine.
Dust build up inside a projector is usually the main killer, so effectively this can prolong the life of the Projector too..
I Hope this helps you and it answers all your questions. 🙂👍
      Hope

@vallisoletano34 I'm sure it should be set at 100% screen size already, from factory but you could check in the settings, then go down to projection, then across to projection settings, and scroll down to Zoom screen, click on this and see if it's set at 100% or been reduced.
If it's set at 100% then there's no other way to get a larger screen unless you move the projector back further unfortunately.
      Hope this helps you 🙂👍

hi! I finally went for this projector. In general lines Im quite happu with it but the fan noise I find a bit annoying. Did you note a reduction in noise after changing the filter by the steel mesh? Looks like it would make the air flow quite easier... Thanks in advance

    • @ReviewingHub
      @ReviewingHub  10 месяцев назад

I can't say I noticed a diffence in fan noise mate, but I noticed a huge difference in dust reduction.
As the main filter itself is made of tiny little fibres and the fan sucks these fibres into the machine and lands on the LCD which causes black spots.
So just the filter modification is well worth doing.
If you put the projector on mode it does reduce the fan noise but it can take up to 30 seconds to 1 or 2 minutes to kick in.
But this also reduces the brightness level of the machine, so just keep this in mind 🙂
I'm glad your happy with it 🙂👍

Hello, I bought the Ace k1 model from Amazon. The biggest reason why I chose it was that it was dust-proof. But when I received it today, I can see one or two dust particles and black dots. Should I worry about this? Can it go away on its own? Apart from these, it is a great device! If you could give detailed information about it, I would appreciate it. I would be happy.

    • @ReviewingHub
      @ReviewingHub  4 месяца назад +1

It most likely won't go away by itself, this is just dust stuck to the LCD inside the projector.
The only way to remove this is by cleaning the LCD with a cotton swab, or buying a hand-held rocket blower off Amazon or eBay.
I haven't had to clean the dust spots from the K1 yet, so I'm not sure where the door is on this machine.
But usually there is a sticker on the bottom of the projector. peel the sticker off the bottom and usually there's a little door you can open.
Open this door, and have the door facing the floor, and blast air into the projector! Hopefully the dust will be dislodged from the LCD screen and fall out the bottom of the projector.
If this doesn't work you will need to try the cotton swab method, or completely remove the LCD for cleaning.
But obviously this is more of a risk involved to this, than the other 2 methods.
Rocket blower method is your best option 🙂👍
Please don't blow into the projector with your mouth! As this will cause other issues. Because little pieces of your saliva will fly out your mouth and land on the LCD which will create water stains on the projected image.

    • @ReviewingHub

From my experience with dustpoof projectors, or the technical term manufactures use is an optically sealed engine.
I've had blackspots develop on all my optically sealed engine projectors.
Dust always finds a way into the machine eventually, usually when focussing the projector, or by the filtration system.
Hence the reason why I modify all mine now, to limit the dust issues.
But usually DLP projectors are far superior at handling dust issues, to LCD projectors.
So you may want to look at DLP projectors if dust is your main concern. 🙂👍

Hi, thanks for your comment. Is it black spots you are suffering from?
If so, this is usually dust on the LCD screen, which can be removed by cleaning the LCD screen, as I showed in the video.
Dust inside the lens shouldn't cause that much of a problem with image quality unless it's really bad.
To remove dust from the lens is a lot more complex, and I wouldn't advise taking all the optics apart.
If it's still under warranty, I would send it back if the lens inside is full of dust.
If it's just black spots showing on the image, it's just dust on the LCD, which can be solved by cleaning the LCD with a soft brush and then just giving the LCD a blow with a rocket blower (these are cheap on eBay), then just put the LCD back into the projector as quickly as possible to limit the amount of dust that lands back inside the projector.
If you take your time and follow my video, you should be okay. 🙂

So I ordered this one and the k1 to see which one I want I also ordered some other Yaber ones to see the difference but for the k2s you recommend to immediately change the filter to the foam filter and then it shouldn’t have that space in between the lens and the body according to what people have told you? And if it does then just go with the k1? Is the k1 way less bright?

    • @ReviewingHub
      @ReviewingHub  9 месяцев назад +1

The foam filter and mesh mod that I installed in the back of the projector is far superior than the original filter yaber used.
I found the filter they used in the back of the projector was shedding little fibres and hairs and going onto the LCD screen which was causing more black spots..
Because of this nasty filter they used in the K2s projector.
It doesn't stop the gap in the lens.
Hence the reason why I installed a UV lens filter on the front of the projector, so dust can't get sucked into the optics causing even more black spots.
I do this Lens filter mod on all my machines as it stops dust in its tracks getting past the optics and causing blackspots.
By immediately putting a UV lens filter onto any projector you will then seal in the optics so the lens can focus in and out in a dust free environment without dust getting sucked into the machine when focussing..
If you watch my Wimius P62 video I explain more in that video..
The Yaber K1 is a far superior machine when it comes to dust resistance and overall build quality..
And during my review the Yaber K2s was on 100% percent brightness out the box making it appear brighter than the K1..
But after setting up the K1 again I checked what level that was set on and the K1 was only set at 50% brightness..
So there's no wonder why I thought the K2 was a much brighter machine.
To the average viewer I don't think you will even notice the 150 more ANSI lumens.
Hope this answers some of your questions 🙂👍

Thanks for your lovely comment my friend appreciate the support 🙂👍
They are all fantastic machines my friend, if you type in throw distance calculator on Google and go to the website and select K1 and K2 and choose your desired distance it will give you the biggest screen it will cast.
The K1 has far better build quality and dust resistance, it's just feels like a more premium machine than the K2.
If you already have a Bluetooth sound bar, or a good sound system and you already have a fire stick, Google Chrome cast, roku, or any other smart device you can connect to the HDMI port than I would say the K1 all day long.
The K1 is an exceptional machine for the money, that produces a magnificent picture.
If you don't have any of these things then the K2 has everything you could possible need in a projector, good sound, good functionally, and excellent performance.
But you may suffer a dust issue this is just from my own personal experience, the K1 doesn't have these problems.
The P64 is also an excellent machine, and has outstanding picture performance to price ratio.
But an issue you may not like with the P64 is you can only cast the picture onto the wall from 2 heights.
As there is only 2 feet on the bottom of the projector, so it can't be adjusted too multiple heights.
Unless you buy a separate mount or table projector stand then this is not an issue, and it's just another thing you need to buy.
It was an issue for me as I already have a screen on my wall in a fixed position, so I couldn't project the image were I needed it due to not having an adjustable foot.
If your casting just onto a plain wall then this isn't so much of an issue.
      But it's worth noting.
      Hope this helps 🙂👍

Yeah it's clearly visible on light white backgrounds or dark backgrounds.
On white backgrounds it will show up as black spots, and on dark backgrounds it can show up as white spots.
It may not bug you and some people can ignore it.
Yaber might have sorted this quality control issue now I've pointed it out and you may get less of this happening.
But eventually all LCD projectors will get dust on the LCD eventually which will lead to black spots.
Even when they are suppose to be optically sealed, dust will find it's way in eventually.
The good news is Yaber engineered this projector really well, and you can easily remove the LCD and clean it with a soft brush.
Just undo the screews on the bottom, and pull of the lid, and remove a few plugs, 1 screw, and undo the ribbon cable, and slide the LCD out.
It's really easy to do and doesn't take long about 15 mins max, so when it gets really bad and the black spots bug you, just give it a clean.
Some projectors are not as simple to remove the LCD so this isn't always an option to some people if they are not DIY minded.
Thankfully this projector is great for cleaning.
I've shown how to do this in my video so just follow along when it's time. 🙂👍
You may not need to do this though for many years.
Some projectors are better than others as dust resistance, at the time of my review this machine was pretty bad for dust.
But hopefully Yaber have made things better with this machine by now, they are a great company and for customer support. so if you have any problems just reach out to them. 🙂

No it is worth it, it's a great machine! Mine just had some issues, hopefully Yaber have sorted the dust by now with this model.
Thier K1 was excellent with dust resistance, and I highly rate that machine. 🙂👍

@@ReviewingHub😢😢😢Hello, I bought the Ace k1 model from Amazon. The biggest reason why I chose it was that it was dust-proof. But when I received it today, I can see one or two dust particles and black dots. Should I worry about this? Can it go away on its own? Apart from these, it is a great device! If you could give detailed information about it, I would appreciate it. I would be happy.😢😢
