    Wilson are great value for money, they produce great feeling irons. I started playing wilson left to play Mizuno and have returned to Wilson of which I am happy to play for there quality and consistency, I believe they are very underrated as a manufacturer of great clubs and find a lot of bias towards Wilson against the so called bigger names.
    I personally love all the irons I have played manufactured by Wilson ❤️😁😁😁

    Wilson has almost always made some of the most beautiful irons in the business. I have a set from 1972 and they are stunning, Nonetheless, Wilson muscle backs are some of the least forgiving Irons you could put in your bag. When you miss, they come up short much more than you could ever expect.

      @@MrMatthew262 I actually put X100 shafts in mine…. Beefy. Stock the irons are very light. Still, the feel is amazing. See if your local shop will let you demo them on the course and you’ll see… very solid soft feel…absolutely love these irons. I played two generations of Staff model FG tours before getting these, and these take those great irons and up the ante a bit with the tungsten toe insert…even toey shots are not bad…

  • @johnatchley9754

    Ian Fraser hit both with extreme consistency. He noted that the drilled out hosel allows Wilson to add a little weight to the toe which helps bring the sweet spot a bit more toward the center of the face than is usual for blades.

    Nice video!
    James, don’t forget those are the standard old lofts. Sort of.
    I played a set of Haigs up to a 2 iron. I practices with it on occasion off a low tee.
    A couple of young pros were standing next to me. I interrupted their practice and said; Yiu guys are pros, see if you can hit This!? Best shit was about 150.
    I would put the blades in up to the 4 iron and enjoy golf!
    I still play blades, Mizuno with a softer shaft now at 70 years old. Still can hit a 6 iron 185 ish.
    Love your videos with Chris!!! And the great courses you have over in the Uk.

    I had JPX 921 HMP. I'm a 4 HDCP, and didn't realize how strongly lofted the HMP were. I was carrying my P wedge 145 and had a large yard gap between 50 degree and P wedge. I met with a club pro. Tried out a more traditional style of irons. I still wanted some forgiveness, but wanted some of the aspects of a players iron. I traded in my JPX 921s HMP and left with a P-4 Iron Wilson Staff model CBs. The lofts are more traditional with 7 iron at 34 degrees and now I carry my P wedge 135 and I can easily hit it 125 if needed. Now my gaps are closed and playing well. Love these irons. If your a decent ball striker, the other benefit of these clubs, is the ability to club up and swing confidently. With the strong lofted clubs and hot face, I could randomly get a ball that would just come off sooooo hot and fly 10 yards further than expected. These clubs have me dialed in with my carry numbers.

    • @MrMatthew262
      @MrMatthew262 4 месяца назад

      I’m coming from the HMP to the CB’s well. Wanted something to tame the distance and a little sleeker looking. I can’t stand huge soles. I’m looking forward to them but a bit nervous about the transition to this type of iron from such a helpful one.

    I have just received my 2024 Staff Model Blades. I’m an adequate ball striker and I don’t hit the ball into space. I got them because they make me feel good. If you don’t hit them from the middle you’ll get punished but they’re more forgiving than you might think. I love them.

    They are my new irons 😊. A blended set of CBs and blades, and they are gorgeous. This year, they have designed the back of the blades to be a better visual match to the CBs. Wilson once had a absolute lock on providing forged blades to top tour players but quickly lost its staggering market share when other manufacturers evolved the technology of golf clubs. These clubs are nothing more than a nostalgic curiosity and a relic of a bygone era long since passed. Thank You but I'm sticking to my modern clubs.
