Mingus goes Free Bop, I know it is not really accurate but i felt like that to me, back then. Great Band of the late 70ties and 80ties.

I saw the band at the Village Vanguard, where I had also seen the band with Mingus. and Jack Walwrath, the Changes 1 and 2 band.

Saw this band around this time. Thought Pullen was going to kick the ass of a photographer who got in his face in the middle of an intense solo! If looks could kill...

Saw Billy Hart do that one night. Photographer was using flash, and Billy was NOT having it (and couldn't blame him). He barked, "you need to stop FLASHING that in my FACE!" and then turned that energy into one helluva drum solo!
