Simply the greatest piece of musical genius I have ever heard in my 55 plus years on this earth. It is my favorite of all time. I wonder how this melody came into his head. Perhaps he wrote this in order to get to see God Almighty. What more can I say!

I think so, too. It was always a religious experience to hear Don play, especially this song. He was my favorite pianist. He died far, far too soon, alas.

I know that I'll never be able to hear all of the beautiful music ever written. But when the day comes that I leave this earth, I can go happy knowing that I've at least heard this one.

Absolutely, gently beautiful. Don Pullen was so very good...died so young. He never hit a wrong note...

Don Pullen was, and still remains, one of my favorite musicians of all time. More than almost any other pianist, he was a master of the extremes - from serene beauty like this song to all-out free jazz excesses...and it all came across as totally gripping. May he rest in peace, wherever he is.

Simply sublime. This is the music I want playing at my funeral--because I want it to be a time of celebration of our precious time on earth. Thanks Don for creating this masterpiece.

I was sitting at a table at the Village Vanguard (I think it was Keith Jarrett trio) and Don Pullen was sitting at the next table with a date. I felt like I was sitting next to royalty.

I just heard this piece for the first time 9/15/23 on WDCB in Chicago. I'm 68+ years old and am embarressed to say I'm unfamiliar with Don's solo work. I DID see him several times in the mid-70s with the great Mingus group! This tune just slays me.
Tomorrow I'll be looking for the CD.

Pullen played with all his heart. And if someone is underrated, that would be him. His solo piano records are powerful as hell.

If I say Don Pullen is my favorite, for me, I see it like my favorite ice cream, which is anything custard. I see the wind, the storm, the drop of rain. I am just with my sensations as I hear Don Pullen, warm, sweet, dastardly all in one!!

For this lover of good music (jazz), the left hand makes it really worth-while. Although the chord structure is a little repetitious...still...I'd certainly listen and ENJOY. Happy to recommend this piece! Donny C

The range of ability that Don Pullen showed on the piano is amazing. From this absolutly beautiful piece to his work with George Adams and his last album were he combined Native North American Music with jazz. He was and still is incredible!
