Excellent analysis. I wonder if you are able to provide an update for this year as to whether the app made any improvements to its algorithm or it’s just the same. If you are also able to shed any further analysis on sleep apnea functions of these apps that would be extremely helpful and appreciated

you have the BEST reviews on youtube for all these related topics, with actual tests and data that can be used when you read reviews of apps on the app store, the only part that's actually reliable is people's experiences with the UI - any comments on actual sleep tracking data can't really be used, so i really appreciate your videos so glad i found your channel - hope you keep growing!!!!
Thanks for this! Finally some proper scientific approach to this topic, you earned a sub :) It would be great to see a comparison video where you talk about the pro's and con's of sleep cycle and other similar apps!
Thanks for taking the time to do thorough reviews with in depth data analysis about these products. Super helpful! Now all we need is for *you* to develop an app for the Apple Watch that actually works (hint hint).
I've been using sleep cycle for over 7 years now and I would like to see a comparison between the watch and phone app. Typically on the watch app, I rarely have a score below 60, even if I had a night with a lot of interrupted sleep because my daughter woke me up whereas with the phone app, I have score below 50 after nights were I didn't sleep well and feel really tired in the morning
You should test the native sleep tracking on apple watch as well. Maybe another idea for a future video is testing to see if the smart alarm actually wakes you up during light sleep and not rem sleep
Pretty interesting results ! Would it be possible that you test the "Sleep as Android" App in the future ? Not sure if this app is compatible with the apple Watch though.
I have apple now but I can say for certainty that the Samsung watch 4 is the BEST sleep tracker between the two! It lets you know how much light sleep, REM sleep and deep! It’s amazing.

I’ve watched your review of Apple Watch 6 and the Sleep Cycle App as well as your review of the Oura Ring 2. In your opinion is the Apple Watch as good as the Oura Ring for sleep? Do you feel it would be overkill to use both?

Hey Rob, I am hoping you would revisit the experiment with sleep cycle app but without an apple watch connected, just purely from the phone's sensor. Been using the app for a year and would love to see if the readings are anywhere near accurate. Thanks!
I was hoping to see if the total sleep time matches the eeg device. I have a Watch 10 who says I was asleep for almost 2hrs longer than the sleep cycle app. A comparison video would be great!
Thank you so much Antonio! One step at a time 😊. When I actively started working on my channel about 9 months ago I had about 150 subscribers, and I am already so happy that so many people enjoy my videos enough to spend their valuable time watching things I create. I still quite often get that imposter syndrome feeling, where I think "why on earth would people take my advice?". That being said, I am super happy with all the positive comments and feedback I get. I would never have though I could even get to 1000 subscribers, let alone the 10.000 kind people that follow my channel now. Have a great day!

I don’t know, I feel like you’re being a little generous to Apple. Considering the hardware in the watch they should easily be able to track sleep cycles comparable to Oura rings. Yet Apple’s data that they give us is extremely vague and in my opinion not that accurate based on your test here. It’d be interesting if you did the same test but with the new Oura Ring 3 instead of an Apple Watch. Or maybe even throw in an Apple Watch 7 to compare both of them to actual scientific equipment. Since one goes on the wrist and one goes on the finger they shouldn’t interfere. Otherwise great video man.

I could notice that in the second night, the REM and Deep Sleep could be almost exact if added an offset in the timeframe of sleep cycle, maybe it's some minutes off because you had to get the graphics through that tool, not raw data in itself
