Greeks in your latin peninsula? Scythians in Belgium? They are more common than you might think! Join me later this weekend for the long awaited EU4 Essential Military Ideas - it's actually coming out and more EU4 videos are on the way! What future imperator videos would you like to see?
@@Testimony_Of_JTF from what I’ve played it’s quite good if you’ve got the dlcs, the base game is pretty terrible because it was just too basic, which is probably true for every paradox game at this point except ck3 which is fun even without anything else
Potential Galatia is pretty interesting as well. The idea of Celts walking and raiding their way through Europe to settle in Anatolia. "Letters to the Galatians" from the bible is directed at these based migrants, heart surgeons and rocket scientists.
I have to admit, I love that Massilia and Bactria are on this list. I still have fond memories of playing as both of them with the XGM mod on R:TW. When I eventually get this game, I'll be more than happy to continue that trend again.
You can use ships to transport your horde across, can't remember which nation I chose but it had a port and access to wood for ships. Was actually really fun slowly colonizing Ireland given how isolated it is, but I still haven't really figured out how to manage general loyalty as a tribe.
I feel like I'm one of the only people that really enjoys Imperator: Rome. Sure, there are bugs and the depth is a bit shallow, but the pop system feels great and I still find myself coming back to play more and more. It's no EU4, but to be fair EU4 was awful on release. I'm really looking forward to how this game evolves, it has a lot of potential!
@@AlzaboHD Yes, it has a lot of potential in future development, but the problem is people was waiting something miraculous, and it didn't happen. Like how it happened to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3
I’d argue that this game is worse than EU4 on release because so much more of the mechanics of Imperator are tied up in mana points. You’ll notice that the best Paradox games have more subtle and unobtrusive mana systems, if they have any at all. The more mana in a Paradox game the worse it is, and Imperator uses it the most. I had way more fun with HOI 4 and Stellaris in release, and those games had more problems with bugs and performance than Imperator by a country mile, but they didn’t cripple you with an arbitrary mana system.
@@isaacsorrels4077 That is an opinion not a fact. I found HOI4 incredibly disappointing and boring, still do. Loved HOI 3. And I also find this game very enjoyable. It lacks flavor when you move away from larger powers but that doesn't surprise me.
@@ZanderPSN did you like HOI3 upon its release (before DLC)? Because it got a ton of negative reception when it was first released. To the point where many people preferred Darkest Hour over it for the first couple of years.
I really like playing as the Etruscans. Not sure if PDX have changed it yet, but they had clans the last time I played that you could set to only recruit certain military types that the clans had to pay for. I trampled Rome with a 90 000 elephant-only army after a while, all free from my perspective. You just need or possibly needed a trade route to Carthage to acquire elephants for your clans to use so you can set their retinues to elephants only. The logistical impossibility of feeding and training this ridiculous army for free amused me.
Especially in SP one of the most powerful nations in game. As the AI only spents a maximum of 9% of their monthly income on boats, you have no real threat of losing the game from an external threat once you conquered the island of Sicily and have a fleet of 40-50 ships. Would've preferred them using the name Sikelia (Greek) instead of Sicily though or another used name.
“the Cappadocian kingdom of Pontus” cappadocians are a seperate greeek group that speak a different dialect. It is like saying the Austrian kingdom of Prussia
Isn't Kios the current home of the Mithridates dynasty at this time actually? Surprised them being there got no mention at least during the Pontus segment :p
Ultutians do not eat potatoes as the New World has not yet been discovered and will not be discovered for another 1200+ years and then potatoes would not be introduced to Europe for another 500 years after that
Have you tried migratory tribes yet? They are super fun! In my campaign now im invading Germany as the Scythians / Iranians and might make a video on it haha
This game’s mana system kills any enjoyment. It just magnifies the feeling of sitting around waiting for points to tick up; it’s the grand strategy version of a mobile game platform.
That must be a very long script for the military ideas video... I'll stop commenting on the matter, it's the third time I do it and it would seem your channel is doing well thanks to the imperator content. You probably don't want to do that video anymore.
@@AlzaboHD that's undoubtedly worse. You said on late April that it was coming soon, then on early may that you were working on the script and that the Imperator hype train wasn't going to delay it. We're now halfway through may and it's only being planned?

pro trick: watch movies on flixzone. Me and my gf have been using them for watching a lot of movies recently.

@Justus Jaxx yup, I have been using Flixzone} for since november myself :D
I still pay subsidies to Gymnasia. Haven't been in ages but cba to open the diplo screen to cancel them.
Only nation of BOI is worth playing
Shankezaa Boi, thats is bold statement boi
YEEEEEEAAAAAHHHHH BOOOOOOIIIIIII
The reason Bohemia was called Bohemia was because that's where the Romans kicked the Boi to.
i would like to see you give your personal opinion on Imperator Rome.
Is it any good?

It's not that hard there are gauls in the Balkans already
Divinum
There were Jews and Phoenicians in Spain, Greeks in India and Persians... In Greece.
Imperialism is fun.
I come for the Paradox info, but I stay for the quips.
"Skip Pocahontas and pick Pontus instead" bro that sounded smooth asf

The puns are killing me. I’m literally dyeing
All those jokes just call for a PUNic war.
What about Byzantion?
The most interesting nation is the first one you play. After that you realize that they are all exactly the same
Big facts right here
I had a fun ironman run as some Scandinavian tribe migrating and colonizing Ireland. I lost a civil war though so rip
That sounds quite challenging - were you able to migrate across sea tiles? How were you able to get to Ireland?
You can use ships to transport your horde across, can't remember which nation I chose but it had a port and access to wood for ships. Was actually really fun slowly colonizing Ireland given how isolated it is, but I still haven't really figured out how to manage general loyalty as a tribe.
But yeah man migratory tribes are a blast, hope Paradox expands them. I want a Scythian Britain lol
open console - horde ( your home province ID) let them crush you and you become migratory clan
@@Kealen69 he's playing in Ironman though
I've been having a lot of fun with Syracuse. As you point out they start in a good position giving multiple options and with a reasonable size.
Yeah I allied with Rome right away and they helped me grow until we in each others way
The Zh in Zhangzhung is pronounced like the s in "vision."
Shangshung then as pronunciation?
@@rossmabon4472 No, it'd sound closer to Jangjung but without the d sound in the j.
Like the s in treasure

Props for pronouncing the C's of Cappadocia as K's, afterall it is transliterated from greek kappa's, as in Kappadokia.
potato based diet there were no potatos till America was discovered
my thoughts exactly
Twas a joke
That excuses nothing
Recently picked up this game. Looking for countries to play. Holy crap this game changed with 2.0. This looks so different
Looking forward to the Byblos guide! Awesome videos and keep up the great work!
This game had a lot of potential , but Paradox always want to milk people with tons of DLC's before actually developing the game.

Let's be honest nobody's gonna play anybody aside from Maurya, Rome and Greek city states.
Carthage?
Boi vs Ulm
“...then Judea just might be the country for Jew.”
Sir, that hit me right in the ol’ Jewish funny-bone. Well played! 🥸👍
I will try creating Veneda by Aestia. ;)
Every migratory tribe is quite fun. I become saxon, migrate to Ireland and make England 1300 years earlier
At the current time I’m watching this, nice view count
Wheres BOI?
Boi world conquest coming soon
