I think the unused Kirby dead page was meant as a placeholder for when the pause screen was accessed while you’re waiting for an ally to give you an extra life. Nightmare in Dreamland’s multiplayer had a pause screen if you were out of lives saying “Being careful only takes a moment, but injuries last a lifetime…”
@@MNGoldenEagle Well all the demo ability pause screens has the same kanjis as that one, so probably the one who's waiting for allies to give an extra life is the one who paused the game, and that "Continue Game" just means unpausing. Supporting that theory is that the icon on the bottom right is the same "Wait" icon used in Nightmare in Dreamland when you're waiting to respawn.
In the HL port of the demo, that screen got removed and was replaced with an image of Mametchi on the Tamagotchi Connection. This was an screenshot taken by the HL Nintendo owner, Naboshi Debajuki the 3rd. Naboshi also works for Bandai Namco HL, Ltd. as the Tamagotchi Development Leader.
The unused pause screen with the dead kirby is in my opinion something leftover from Nightmare in dreamland, when you die in multiplayer and you have to wait for the other player to clear the room to proceed. This can be confirmed further by the image of Kirby in the bottom right which corresponds to the "Wait" state in Nightmare in Dreamland. But since in the final game you dont have to wait for the other player when you die in multiplayer this got removed.
@@andrew_stampsbecause the clock enemy is listed under tokkōn, and tokkōn is derived from the word for time (Toki) , mixed with the sound a clock makes as it ticks. It is not derived from Tokkou lol
Hell yeah this is awesome man. Kirby is one of my favorite series ever and amazing mirror is great I spent so much time on it as a kid even thought I would always get stuck or lost and just run around exploring. Once I got a littler older I played it again and it became one of my favorite Kirby games it’ll be awesome when it’s on the switch with online multiplayer
I love Kirby and the Amazing mirror. The conecpt of having a metroid vania styled kirby was always cool to me. I wouldnt mind if another Kirby game was made in a similar way
8:00 That old design for the Master Sword ability likely harkens back to the Kirby anime. In that series, regular Sword Kirby and Galaxia-wielding Sword Kirby both have the green hat and similar transformation sequences.
nah, stoppy the jetplane makes soooo much more sense *obviously* seriously tetrabit is usually good about this stuff idk how stoppy the jetplane happened in this vid
13:20 - The more I listen to it, the more the Dark Meta Knight battle theme demo reminds me of his pinch theme from Kirby Triple Deluxe. To me, the wavy synth sounds like it's been reincorporated in a way. Outstanding video, it's fascinating seeing the behind-the-scenes content of games I really love.
It makes way more sense for the watch enemy to be called Stoppy, even more so that he looks like a proper miniboss more than the prototype airplane one
I cannot believe it finally we got Kirby and the Amazing Mirror on the Nintendo Switch to complete all the games that we got for Kirby's 30th Anniversary So now all we need is just Kirby Triple Deluxe and Kirby Planet Robobot to be remastered with new epilogue modes for both Taranza and Susie and that's it
This is my favorite Kirby game of all time. I've played through it more times than I can count, and I still remember picking it up at the big case of used gameboy games at Gamestop for the first time. That feeling of adventure, being able to go through the interconnected areas, trying to find new pathways each time. Not only that, but having the other Kirby's explore the world themselves, even areas you aren't even in made the world feel so alive, and despite never having anyone to play it with, the ai made me feel like I wasn't playing alone. Some areas having minibosses with unique abilities to use, others having unique puzzles that require teamwork. The game's world felt so big, even giving you a map to keep track of where you are in it. Nothing felt better than finding those chests with a new Kirby color in it. I prefer this type of exploration as opposed to a level selection screen any day. I might be wrong, but isn't this the only Kirby game that had that kind of open world? In any case, this game deserves so much praise, even today.
My guess as to why there's prototype screenshots on Hal's website was because Hal didn't really make the game. Flagship made it and Hal didn't have a keen enough eye to tell what was the finished game or not.
funny thing is that i played the prototype on one the the website that i use to play old games and i noticed when i played it that there were already a lot of BIG changes to the levels and others so this video can get me more info about the prototype of the game (that i hate) and learning about it's history and might learn more about the prototype that i played months ago
I don't know what's weirder, the fact that they changed minor details like the ocean's gate tops and the color of the level icon brackets, or the fact that people noticed
this has got to be THE best game on the GBA and dare i say the entire kirby series I wish future kirby games brought back things introduced in amazing mirror. I LOVED that the levels were non-linear. I liked having extra kirbies to help. Future Kirby games never really nailed the mood, aesthetic, and gameplay. Not even nightmare in dreamland. Amazing mirror was THE oddball but it was the best and its a shame theres nothing like it
@@GmNdWtchr96 yes I actually hate the point a point b point c standard of advancing levels. I liked that you’d take multiple paths and they’d naturally lead you to a different area. And all the levels are connected you just have to unlock them. That way you don’t play a level once. In future games your ONLY incentive to go back is to find secrets and 100% the game. Amazing mirror does this and more. It’s genius. And this is just personal but I’d get so immersed in the amazing mirror world. Everything connecting makes it feel like it’s an open world game. I’d even pretend Kirby had a little house whenever I’d see a boxed in area.
A lot of spelling differences in this one but, fixing misspelling is important. I can't tell you how many papers I sent in without checking the spelling first and get point deduction lol.
If that's the case with ghost Kirby then it can certainly be possible that Animal could have also been originally introduced in this game but only magic got that chance but didn't have a full moveset till squeak squad. So amazing mirror probably could of been the game to introduce ghosts and animal along with magic but they probably didn't had enough time so they add it in squeak squad.

Doesn't the bottom of the screen say "Continue game" in Japanese? I wonder if it's a placeholder Game Over screen.

Don't you think the enemy that resembles a Clock could have been called Stoppy....
Right?
Would have actually liked Master Sword more if kirby had the hat with it
I found this while playing Kirby super star

10:23 Tokkon is likely derived from the word "tokkou" (kamikaze attack). So it's probably a name for the jet enemy.
Great vid btw!
And stoppy is the perfect name for a clock-based enemy. Howd he get these two mixed up ??

also Stoppy is called Stoppy on TCRF
I still have yet to beat this game on the gba, so it’s nice to be reminded of it again since it’s a good game
