Oh hey! I can answer some of those questions at the end! You can earn zenpoints through their cashback system. Occasionally they have a promotion for buying items from certain marketplaces. For example, not too long ago they did a 10% cashback promo for mercari, and you'd get that 10% in zenpoints. However, you only get this after the item ships, so you cant use it on the parcel that item is in. You also get cashback through their level system, though it's extremely minimal. The only way you can use the points as of now is to pay for shipping.
As for packaging, that amount of reinforcement is completely normal. You got no preferential treatment there.
Thanks so much for this series. The shipping cost difference alone makes me want to switch to sendico, but I hesitate due to just how easy zenmarket is to use. But zenmarket's deposit fee discrepancy and the ssn thing do have me raising an eyebrow. I wonder if it'll be cheaper to charge your card for yen instead of usd and pay the international charge fee directly.
17:10 as someone that has used zenmarket more than once, that kind of packaging on the inside is the standard (with my 3 shipments as experience) at this point i dont even bother using the reinforced option
Personally made around 10 orders through zenmarket, never had any problems and ye their packaging is fantastic.

The SSN is optional because in some countries, I'm not sure if in the USA, the delivery company can ask you for it to confirm that it's you receiving the product. In some countries your SNN or ID number when the delivery company asks you for your ID. I know in the USA they just drop the box at the door, in some other countries it doesn't work like that. That is why, agian, it's optional. You don't have to

Best case they just need to rename the field to Tax ID so normal folks don't think it's asking for SSN
@@druyv Google says Netherlands uses BSN. not SSN. my point was that if you set your country to america then there shouldnt be a SSN field really at all, if its not necessary.
