I am very late to this video, but I want to say thank you! Very good and realistic breakdown. I am going to Japan next week for the second time and I wanted some knowledge on this!
Any tips/recommendations?? What're food and tech prices at right now compared to the U.S.? I was curious if I'd be able to snag an ASUS ROG Ally over there for a good deal
Thanks for this video, very helpful indeed. I am off to Japan later this year and arming myself with all the info to make most of it and as a geek this is right down my alley.
If your not opposed to 2nd hand definitely check out some of the 2nd hand stores (Fujiya, Lemon Inc, Map Camera) otherwise traditional dept stores like Bic Camera for new (But tax free so still some savings!)
I think some things changed. I live in Korea, Korea also has almost the same privacy rules when it comes to phones so it makes a sound when u take a photo. Last year I traveled to my home country and iPhone automatically turned the camera sound off when the zone changed. Apple has changed
So I wanted to build a pc I already had a budget and as of now I’m about to move to Japan. I figured the price will be slightly different in the cheaper aspect since the yen went up, however upon looking up the same parts I wanted on my build it came out to be another 5-700 dollars expensive. Kind of ruining my initial idea of building a pc in Japan. Do you recommend anything to circumnavigate this?
I think best bet would be to check out stores like Hardoff, Surugaya, and so on for used/spare electronics. Can get decent parts and things like cases while saving a few $$$ + Yen Rate as you notated. Otherwise if you can get a deal within the US or wherever your located now and reasonably ship or package your PC (Know isn't that simple) otherwise plenty of electronic stores in JP to hopefully piece meal your computer.
